eh, give her 6 weeks with a personal trainer, a team of hair and make-up artists and couple dozen stylists, and I think she would still need some work, lol................. maybe a cardiologist, too

good lord i hope not, she's already emmbarresed our nation by lounging around with
HUGO CHAVEZ no less.
i certainly hope the secret service and the f.b.i. has a real close eye out on this fruitcake .
IMHO only

Bush was a few minutes late for his speech tonight. I bet anything the Secret Service held him back until they cleared the way with making sure Sheehan didn't have any weirdos lurking around. You better believe the FBI has a bead on her.

It would be interesting to see if Hollywood embraces this loon. I bet not. Ugh... I'll throw up if she shows up and is given a star's treatment. Gawd...

Maybe a nice Razzie for worst female performance of the year? Yeah...

Fruitcake ? How bout a molded fruitcake !

Michael Moore couldn't write it any better!

CS is either getting extremely poor advice or she really is not very smart at all. People originally felt sympathy for her and now she's become a joke and a caricature for the anti-war movement. How can anyone take anything she has to say seriously any more. She obviously would have been so much smarter to sit through and listen to the address and experience everything that goes along with the address firsthand. She then could have commented on her experience and what the President had to say and a few people may have listened to her. Now she's become a sad joke, maybe losing her son, and incidently her husband who publicly disagrees with her politics and roll your eyes rhetoric, has taken such a mental toll that she has yet to right herself.

My money says she is more likely front and center at the big funeral upcoming.

Dan, you are probably right (as usual) on this one. I'll have to look back here for the answers, as I don't watch the oscars.

Who knew you could get arrested for wearing a T-shirt?

Let Freedom Ring, kids!

LVM:

Sheehan did.

Are the Oscars even relevant anymore. Is Hollywood relevant. Are actors relevant. I think not. I'd rather watch a good reality show or game show with real people. They are all slowly drowing in their own percieved self importance.

You know, at first I felt sorry for Sheehan. I disagreed with her politics, but I respected her right to her opinion, and I felt like I could at least understand her perspective, however distorted. She was seeing through the death of her beloved son. But at this point, I believe she would do anything, or hurt anyone, including her family, just to get to President Bush. I think she hated him before Casey was killed. I think she has turned her son's death into a platform for hatred. It is disgusting. I am revolted at the mention of her name. And you know what? I don't want to be. If this was really about bringing our soldiers home, she would have attended that address like everyone else, and used her platform to intelligently discuss her views after the fact (like someone posted above); but it isn't about the soldiers. It is about Bush.

By then she'll be running for Senate, so you're probably right. Run Cindy Run!

I dunno, I'm more worried about storming into Iran.

I am sure she will be there as a guest of Barbra Streisand or Jane Fonda. Actually there may be a bidding war for her. JMHO

It was announced that she had a banner - all folded and ready to hang. Pretty stupid

I've read a variety of conflicting reports, much to my amusement. Apparently a republican congressman's wife was also "removed" for wearing a t-shirt.

Dan, you purport to be a moderate: what is the republican equivalent of "moonbat"?

"what is the republican equivalent of "moonbat"?"

Allow me to offer up George Bush. Furthermore, Republicans are so far to the left that maderates have become rightwingers by default.

What happened to freedom of speech?

What happened to freedom of speech?

What happened to freedom of speech?

Dan, you purport to be a moderate: what is the republican equivalent of "moonbat"?

It isnt about Republican or Dem - it's about Left and Right. Many people on the Right side of the blogosphere consider themselves Libertarians. Then there's the religious fundamentalist Right, which is really only a part of the right. Many extreme right wingers don't care for the Republican party any more than they like the Dems.

I am registered Independent, so the Dem / Rep deal doesnt even apply. My politics are fiscally conservative, I believe in values, God in the public square, though I don't attend church ... but I am also quite moderate on many social issues, so my support for God in the public square isn't based on some literal translation of the text, more an acknowledgement of the need for spirituality of a sort one defines for one' self in our everyday life. Ultimately I fall to the right of the ideological definitions, but likely in the main stream of American thought.

I see the extreme Left as far more dangerous than the extreme right.

I believe the Left calls right wingers everything from Nazi's to neanderthals, bible thumpers, fanatics, lunatics, brown shirts (witness the Bush is Hitler thing which is so pathetic) - the Left has plenty of names for conservatives, that's for sure. Ironically enough, many of them have their roots in fascist politics because of fascism vs socialism circa 1900's.

But, truth be told, socialists are much more akin to fascists than are genuine conservatives. I guess it's an instance of projection on the part of the Left.

Aside from more alarm on my part concerning how long we are going to be in Iraq, another 50% of a US trained Iraqi Army brigade walked off when presented with service in Anbar. Maybe our fearless leaders over there should offer the job of defending the country to the insurgents? So far, it appears that group is consistent. Anyone who wants to argue the proposal, look into the fact that the insurgents' leadership is, at this time, being schmoozed by the US military and political big cheezes to fold in and try to make the plans to democratize Iraq work. One point everyone seems to agree upon is a concern that with little provocation, Iran could decide to expand its real estate and begin moving next door. No matter how hard the Pentagon beats its chest, the US military would be overwhelmed and for sure, the Iraqis wouldn't/couldn't resist much, if at all. Iran's Air Force isn't much, but in plain numbers, has a lot more people than Iraq. It also has two types of the Sunburn missile which is scary.

Anyway, everytime I hear of Cindy Sheehan, I can't help but wonder if she really isn't doing a bonafide service after all. Each time she gets some print, people recall there is a real war going on over there and our guys and gals are dying. If the awareness of Hallburtons strange contracts and literally millions and millions of American dollars go unaccounted for and Pentagon officials disagreeng about military strength and the general lack of protective armor all becomes a faded memory, Americans are apt to begin forgetting to hold the government responsible and then what?

Ha! Turns out she didn't need to be "among friends" to be "not subject to arrest." She only required police officers with an understanding of the law.

Waving pom-poms for wrongful, counter-productive law enforcement does seem to be the cool thing around here.

I'm glad CS got ejected prior to the speech, no matter how it happened. I don't, for one minute, think that she would have sat quietly and listened to the speech. She's a nutcase, and she would have "taken one for the team" and done something to disrupt the speech. She can't help herself. She's already been arrested several times, so she's probably friends with the jailers...

If I could sit her down and ask her a few questions though, it would go like this:

1) Why, if you are sooo oposed to war in general, and the Iraq war in particular, did you not do your job as a mother, and talk your son out of VOLUNTEERING for the military? To me, she'd have way more credibility if her son had been drafted. As it was, he volunteered, and if she was so peace loving, she would have convinced her son not to join. She didn't.
Of course, there was no war going on when he joined, but that is the risk you take when you join the military....that a war could break out while you're in.

2) Was the reason you didn't talk him out of his intent to join the military because of the humongous (several thousand dollars) signing bonus offered to new recruits?

3) Was it because of his entitlement to the GI Bill after his hitch would have been up (in peacetime, of course)?

4) Over 2000 military men and women have died since this war started, and only a few of the parents of the deceased have been fortunate enough to have a face-to-face meeting with GWB offering his condolences...what makes you so special that you deserve more than one meeting? Why would you take that 30 seconds away from ANY OTHER grieving parent?

5) Why, oh why have you allowed yourself to go from grieving mother (credible) to left wing radical joke (not credible)? Are you really that gullible or are you just stupid with grief?

To it way concern.all i wanna do is to prove my point is i have the hardest shut an the hardest throw an the tuffest heart in the world i know knowbody can beat me,if u know how i can prove my point plzzz help me, so i can
