i heard Joran speak for the first time. i have changed my opinion. Before i thought he was guilty of drinking, smoking, gambling, rape and murder. Now i believe him when he says that he was too concerned about STD to have sex with Natalee Holloway and that he kept his condoms at home so as to have them ready if necessary. Yes Donna,if Nat was a virgin as her mother claimed then her hymen was left intact after Joran left her on the beach as she wished.Afterall it was less than a 20 minute walk along the beach back to the Holiday Inn.She was in view of her hotel for sure.

A guy will no doubt check every restroom at every gas station for a condom if they want to have sex with a girl bad enough.But such an effort must be worth the while of the one who needs a condom.Perhaps Natalee was not worth the effort in the eyes of Joran.

Dont know how many of you have ever been to Aruba,but not very many places besides casinos open at that hour of the night and I dont recall seeing any condom machines in the restrooms of the hotels of casinos.There could have been some but I was not looking for any as I am a married man.

FP I dont agree. I personally know a friend of mine who is very promiscous but has NEVER had sex without a condom and has called off sex numerous times because of not having a condom while the woman was willing to go without one. Its not about conscience its more about protecting yourself.

Beth sincerely believes her daughter did not party and had never had a boyfriend...true or false, this was her mindset when she got to Aruba, so to be told right off the bat that Natalee was probably shacked up with some strange guy she met and would show up at ladies night or was maybe in a crack house somewhere?? How could this not end badly? From that first night on, there was distrust between the family and ALE and it only got worse.

FALSE,Beth knows that her daughter was loose,if she did'nt then she does now.

She should have called the police in Aruba before she ever left U.S.,perhaps if she had maybe her duaghter would have been located and promptly returned to her upon her arrival,but since she and the posse deputized themselves they have no one but themselves to blame for the initial failed investigation.Yes the investigation that they were allowed to commandeer from the time they stepped foot on the island.They were their own worst enemies and continue to be to this day.

What she apparently thought because of her daughters past behaviors was that she had ran away or was hold up somewhere where she should not have been.If she for one second thought that her daughter had been kidnapped she would have burnt up the phone lines to ALE in attempt to find her quickly.What she was hoping for was to show up and retrieve her daughter yet again from a familiar setting or so she thought.She was no stranger to retrieving her daughter as her FAILURE to notify the local authorities is indicative of her knowledge of past shenanigans that Natalee had pulled.That is as obvious as the day is long.

Her initial crying to the trooper that her daughter had been kidnapped may have saved her from getting her 3rd DUI,but the thought of her daughter being kidnapped was not important enough for her to call the Aruban authorities.WHY XXX,DID BETH NOT REPORT HER DAUGHTER BEING KIDNAPPED AS SOON AS SHE SUSPECTED IT.Simple,she used that as a ruse to escape the tickets the trooper may have given her.

That was a great summation of events and the realities of this sad situation, the Twitty's ruin the investigation of this case due to their preconceived notions based on previous incidences with Natalee! She may have not been DUI material, yet or this time, but she would have gone to jail if the cop did his job that day on the highway! It is grounds to be arrested immediately if you speed at such excessive rate, it is a criminal reckless act to drive 120 MPH. Can we imagine what have happened if Jug tried this tactic with the cop? Straight to jail, I would imagine!

Also, if she was sitting on the beach and he asked to escort her to the hotel, but she refused - I can see how he would lie about that and frame two black guys. It would be much better to be a murder suspect than admit she refused an offer to be escorted to the hotel.

Another thought, back when Joran was in jail. Remember when they took him on the trip to the beach so he could show authorities where he left her? After two weeks he is still lying about what happened the night Natalee disappeared. No mention of the no sex because there was no condom. The kid is IN JAIL and he still isn't telling the truth. Again, at what point does he stop being afraid his dad will get mad at him and tell the whole truth?

After the video came back that he didn't do that you think it's a plausible idea to stick to that story? Even when others are arrested for it? We can ponder things all we want as far as guilt but it will be up to the courts to play out what happen. I truly don't believe a fair trial could be had in Aruba. I believe the people on that island, the natives, are not considered equals. I think they are treated as lesser people but that's just me IMHO.

I would love to see this case go to jury trial. I do believe the VDS would get a fair trial in the states especially in New York City where it is a melting pot of all cultures. People would probably relate more to the fact that they are foreigners.

I'm still wondering about the lies. All because he didn't want to upset his father. Wow, what a heavy influence his father had on him.
