Hans has several interesting items up today.
Harry Bella-fascist is at it, again
McCain's an animal on spending - yeah, a political one, IMO.
And Hannity blew it with Lowery
Fact is I'd like to run a poll on right talkers one day. Maybe I'll get to do that. People blast Coulter, but Hannity often annoys me more than she does. Are right wing talkers really like Conservative Gods, or something? I see them more as entertainers than anything else.
Full disclosure - I'm a die hard Limbaugh supporter, even though I don't often get to listen in. But I also think his best work was a decade ago when he was fresh. He, maybe more than any other individual, deserves credit for opening up media to an alternate view. So, I am not dissing him.
Enough of me for a bit, go read Hans.

Do the poll. The results would be really interesting. There are some strong right-talker personalities out there, and I would love to see what people think.

Krauthammer, Barone, Sabato, Eagleburger, and Mike Baker. Hannity makes me sick. I used to watch all the time, but he embarrassed me too often to the point I can't watch anymore.
Mike Baker is that hunk ex-CIA operative FOX invites on every now and then. Yow. I'd love to read his biography.
Can someone please explain what 'truth to power' means?

What ticked you off about Hannity? I believe speaking truth to power originated from the Quaker peace movement prior to the sixties. It's become a universal slogan of sorts for anything, especially civil rights issues. Basically, it's openly advocating an unpopular position and confronting more popular forces, especially governmental, with that "truth" as a means to become empowered yourself.

In fairness Dan, congress deserves some of the credit you give Limbaugh. If they hadn't killed "the fairness doctrine" we'd have very little talk radio around.
Rush, though raised the level of it to as much an artform as an information media.

Dan,
Thanks for the definition of 'truth to power'. Good explanation.
Hannity first started to embarrass me during the Kobe Bryant trial when he kept on and on about 'wouldn't a man SEE if a woman had 'injuries' (tears) from a previous sexual encounter. God, I cringe now just writing about it, but he really did go on and on about it night after night - and, funny, - no one ever addressed it, responded to him. It so disgusted me thinking that not all men spread some woman's legs and examine her parts before going for the plunge. I just thought, 'what kind of pervert are you?' That sounds like a stupid reason, but it says much about his character and purist notions. As well, he simply needs to shut the hell up and let his guests speak. He's a bully with a God complex, and I don't care one way or the other WHAT he has to say anymore.

Limbaugh lost me when he called the Dem congressional candidate from Ohio (forget his name) a staff puke. Total disrespect for the military there- hypocritical comment from someone who sells Club Gitmo T-Shirts.
Hannity's a vapid ranter. Entertaining, but there's no "there" there.
Best is Laura Ingraham- unlike the aforementioned guys, she went to Iraq recently and interviewed the troops herself.
