I am in the UK and have just heard on the news that Neil Entwistle has returned back to his parents house. No one knows where he went on Tuesday afternoon. They would not speak to the press or media. They refused to answer any questions, that is his mom and dad and Neil Entwistle.
I can't believe that HIS parents did not go to their grandchild's funeral.
Wonder what they were like as in-laws?

Maybe Neil and family went somewhere that held a significant meaning for them so they could mourne quietly away from everything and everybody. And, yes, it would have been a zoo had Neil or his family attended. I have deep suspicions about Neil being the perp in this case, but he may be mourning for what he knows is lost to the world.

Any loving husband that is not guilty of murdering their wife and child would rather DIE than not be at their funeral to pay respects and see them one last time. I can't even begin to fathom what you just said jadensmokes. Somewhere with significant meaning would be at the side of his dead wife and infant daughter.

Mr. Ents excuse for not attending the funeral is beyond excuse if he is innocent. (I dont believe for one moment he is). But....what prevented his parents from sending flowers, lots of them, a card, a letter to Rachels Mother??? NOTHING! My G*% ! ! ! Im now wondering what type of parents he has. You can totally understand why THEY didnt go...a media BOMB! But just sending a kind letter & flowers??? Maybe it wouldnt be wanted but send them anyway! I must say tho... I have alot of respect for the parents of children who step up to the plate and speak about their childs bad doings, i.e., turn them in, etc. Come on, its the only morally responsible thing to do but Im afraid you dont hear of many. THESE PARTICULAR PARENTS KNOW ALL THE DETAILS OF WHAT HAPPENED BUT WILL CONTINUE TO COVET HIM.

Hello I am not taking up for Neil and I am not for or against him. But I just felt after reading the comments here I needed to give my 2 cents LOL. I buried my grandparents before I was 16 yes all of them. I buried my life long best that I had known since I was 2 before I was 28. I buried my dad before I was 30. So when my daughter passed away I could not mentally or physically go through it again. I wanted my last memory of her to be the one I had while she was alive! So I didn't go. I couldn't! So you never know the reason that someone does not go to a funeral of a family member. Unless you have lost a child you can never fully understand.

God Bless you JAT, (and you know I love ya), but I think the point here is that his family was murdered, either by him or someone else. He is bringing more attention to himself by his strange actions. His parents are protecting him and that is normal, but I bust my kid if she is dishonest or makes wrong decisions. It's a part of parenting and it starts at day one! She tells me how she never wants to have the police "get her" and asks if I would ever call them on her. I just tell her that she is a sweet girl, but if she did something that awful I would have to, but because I love her. Geez, why do these young kids think about that stuff? Well, I just learned that one of her classmates dads is in jail--maybe that's it...who knows.

I am the same way with my son. I will always love him but don't always agree with his decissions. I never said that. They were talking about him not going to the funeral. There are several reason for a person not to go I know first hand.

I understand that, but I just feel like he is hiding something. He said he does not recall the flight from the US to the UK. The bodies were "tucked" into bed as police missed them the first time they went in. Just too much weird stuff IMO.

jat....so sorry for you and I do know; and I went. Nothing could stop me. We are just different people and most likely different circumstances. Abigail...you are so right and got what I was trying to write. jat...please read back to the finite circumstances of the case then you will change your mind. You are thinking of YOUR circumstances...not what is actually going on in this case. He is a coward and she got in the way of "something". I do not know yet...but I have some suspicions. Just ask...."WHAT WAS SEAMINGLY RESOLVED BY THEIR DEATHS?" From his actions now; hiding, running home to Mommy/Daddy, not attending his own wife & childs service speaks volumns. He did it...and the police and DA will prove it too. Oh and why did he murder his own flesh and blood child?...she was part of her...the one that had to go. He only feels the need to protect HIMSELF....thats why running away is so obvious and thats why he did not attend the funerals.

Neil is not a suspect. How many times has the media been wrong in their assumptions in these types of cases ? The families have NOT given out any information and neither have the police.

Ummmmmm... Melanie, how do you know he or his family did NOT send flowers??? Do you have first hand knowledge that the rest of us can't find??????? I think he is GUILTY of either doing this himself or he has knowledge of WHO may have done it but I do not know WHAT he is telling his parents and cannot hold a grudge against them until they give me a reason to... Point is, how does anyone know that they have not had contact with the family???????

Jat--I think most every circumstance is different and IMO this is one of them.
How could anyone who knew the girls miss it, much less the husband and daddy? His actions just seem very strange to me. If he knew who did it and feared for his life he could have gotten police protection for the service even if he was a witness. Why not run his mouth if he is afraid, I mean what's the worse thing that could happen since it already has? I don't know, but I do know that my husband would have been there if it was me and our "angel" no matter what. He would probably still be at the cemetery camping out. And that's not meant to be humorous, I think he actually would be then eventually they would have to drag him away to the looney bin.

...some of what I wrote is published and to the other question, yes. The only published contact has been the call from Neil..."oh, I dont know how I got to England, blah, blah, blah...". Oh please! By the way, who's holding a grudge? I just think it would be really hard sitting in my parents home for well over a week; NOT SAYING A WORD! And if it is true that he is "confused", why arent his parents calling a doctor in? Im am sure they love him and if he is confused because of illness or trama or whatever, they should be getting him some help. I think they know more about his "doings" than they are saying. This man just lost a wife and infant due to murder. He is hanging out in the UK for what reason....and why did he not immediately return to the US upon hearing of these murders? IMO, any NORMAL person would book an immediate flight back upon hearing this news!
No excuses.
Guys? Your opinion, please. IF, your wife and baby were slain, would you just hang out in another country...not attend the funeral, refuse to talk to authorities. IF so....why? Because you killed them? Probably.

I am sorry you took offense to what I wrote. This particular post was about NE's return home (in the UK). I was simply commenting of where they may have gone and what they may have been doing. The papers reported that they didn't know their destination. JEEZ people back off of me! I didn't say poor Neil, he is innocent...there is a key word in my post and it is mentioned at least twice: MAYBE. I was just speculating on where they had been. And I was speculating that even a murderer may have remorse and guilt and feel a need to mourn on the day their family is burried. It's a stretch, but MAYBE Neil is mourning. Sigmund and friends have it correct, it would be a mob scene, and by indication of your reactions here, I feel it would be a lynch mob at that.
If you have read any of my entries here or at Huff's you would know that I don't think he is innocent. Everyone keeps asking WHY as in why he didn't attend the funeral. My honest opinion is he doesn't want to end up with his ass in jail because he's guilty, that's why. And, why didn't the parents go? Because their child is guilty and they're protecting him. Why didn't they send flowers and a letter of condolence? We don't know that they haven't done either of these things.

I am not saying that he is not guilty. I am not saying that he didn't want to come back for fear of being arrested. I was simply replying to a statement that was made "Any loving husband that is not guilty of murdering their wife and child would rather DIE than not be at their funeral to pay respects and see them one last time." This is not always true. There are many reasons that people do the things they do or don't do. That does not mean it is always a choice but it is still a person's choice to make. Ask the same question of another person who is not suspected of the murder. There will still be family members that do not go for their own personal reasons.

Local news here(I live in Maine but I get the Boston stations) reported that Neil bought a one way ticket to England. Also reports that dectives from here are flying to England.

I'm no psychic, but you ask why would a "NORMAL" person not go to their own wife and child's funeral, especially after the way the two of them died.

the key here is to find out "WHY" he could not/ would not return to the united states where he was a current resident of Massachusetts.
that is until he drove to the airport...
someone drove him to the airport...
went thru security...or not...
got on the plane...
wound up 6-8 hours away from home BY AN AIRPLANE...
SO HOW DO YOU ANSWER THOSE QUESTIONS KNOWING THAT...
A. WE HAVE TO BE ABLE TO FIND A WITNESS TO SUBSTANTIATE HIS BEING ON A CERTAIN FLIGHT TO EUROPE
B. WHAT AIRLINE AND HOW LONG WAS THE TRIP/ TRANSCRIPTS-POSSIBLY FROM THE FAA...
C.WHAT /WHO MET HIM AT THE AIRPORT IN THE U.K.?
DID HE TAKE A TAXI TO HIS PARENTS PLACE???
D. DID HE GO STRAIGHT HOME OR DID HE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE...
WAS A VEHICLE WAITING ON HIM...
ALREADY PARKED???
WHAT DID HE ACTUALLY TELL HIS PARENTS AS SOON AS HE ARRIVED WITHIN THE FIRST 4-8 HOURS UPON HIS ARRIVAL AT THEIR HOME????
NOW WHAT???

It is no good us all peculating or assuming about this case. We should thank the Investigation team in the US of how quickly they are working on this case. It will be for the police and the Authorities to come to their decisions and evidence of this case. The will get there in the end of their Investigations and then once they have you then can obviously comment more about the case. We cannot say that Neil Entwistle is GUILTY or NOT GUILY while the Investigations are being carried out. The police should be praised and applaused for what they are doing. They are doing their Investigations as quickly as possible which I think they have done very well up to now. Let us not assume and just sit back and wait for the information to hit the news world wide of when they have any answers to this EVIL CRIME.

So, it was the 'Sun' newspaper that got the information re Neil phoning his wife's parents and telling them that he could not remember how he got back. Do you people who are in US and post on here know just what kind of newspaper that is, and why on earth when there are all the newspapers in the US, they would go and tell the 'Sun'!!! Was the story on page 3 with the porno pictures? Don't believe everything you read in the newspapers, especially one like that one.

I live in Massachusetts and have been following this story since it first broke in the local press and on local TV stations. The story has all but dried up in the past week and other than a front page photo and question in this week's issue of People Magazine, no new developments have been reported.
Ironically enough, I too am from the UK originally and asked myself the question posted by Muirnin on Saturday 4th. Namely, if my wife and children - I have two :) - were murdered and I was outside the country, or even in another part of the USA, I would be on the first plane, train, or car back home just as fast as possible. And if I'd been in the UK at the time their bodies were discovered I can safely say that my parents would have flown back with me.
Unless I'd killed them myself in which case I'd probably stay in the UK, get a lawyer, and refuse to cooperate with authorities.

If another party was responsible for the murders, what was so beneficial from killing a mother and child? Why wasn't Neil a target?
Neil Entwistle stated he left the house at 9am. If he locked the front door on his way out, the killer must've come from outside. How did the killer have a key to access the front door?
Why wasn't a loving, caring and devoted husband (as Neil Entwistle was described by family and friends) mentioned in his wife's obitury and funeral?
Why does Neil Entwistle state in the police affidavit that he left home at exactly 9am and returned after seeing to errands at exactly 11am, discovering the murders? Left at exactly 9am, retuned at exactly 11am....ermmmmmmm....

You know I have read numerous things about the case and what happened. Well, everyone is saying how could he leave with his wife and child being murdered if he was innocent. Now I'm not for or against him, but like others have stated, everyone is different. So the why did he go to UK, well have anyone thought about the possibility, that he has no family in the US, and he went back to his "comfort" place, somewhere where is was familiar. No one can actually state what they would do if it happened to them until it does. It is at all possible that he may be "confused" and don't remember what happened. He could very well be in shock. None of you are really there to find out from this man what happened. It was posted that he was not in the obituary, so was that a really loving family as everyone thinks. And if he killed them because of debt, well that don't make since, cause he is still alive, so he will still have them. Unless he took out an insurance policy then it would be questionable. People do many various of "strange" things. but tell me this, is it only strange cause it is something that you don't agree with? why do we as people always have to place judgement on others.. that is not our job. If he is guilty then God will make him pay for it, and if he is not then let the man be. No one on here is psychic. the only person that will know the truth is Neil, his beloved wife, daughter and God. The police is not always right, and evidence don't always prove something. So stop judgement, and leave it to the Pro. Which is God.

His DNA on GUN. Hers too.
He see's them dead, does not call police, leaves the country.
Does not attend funeral.
Anybody that thinks that this guy is innnocent needs to open their eyes. Ask yourself too..who ELSE would have done it?????????????

I am British and I'm from the North-east quite a bit further up the country from where Neil was born. I'm also a member of www.friendsreunited.co.uk. And guess what? Neil is also a member on this website. He attended Valley Comprehensive School, Baulk Lane, Worksop, England. Read his notes which he left for friends and updated on 03/06/03:

Come on! Neil looks guilty as hell! What about his DNA on the pistol grip?
And all the other dodgy shit he tried to hide from his family????
And about judgement: What if God doesn't exist? Have you ever thought of that one?? Then surely judgement should be left to our human race, more specifically: The Police because its their JOB!!! If God does exist then why didn't he use his power to stop the murderer before the murders instead of punishing the murderer after the murders?
And Rachel and Lillian are not with us anymore - they don't exist, so how can they know the truth about who shot them?? I read they were possibly sleeping at the time of the shooting...if they were sleeping how can they know who shot them, eh???? So in reality, there is only one person who knows something about the murders and that one person is Neil. I think the real pros are The Police, who so far are doing a great job with dodgy Neil who hasn't helped with this case since day one!!!
You wait and see dee, man's invention of forensic science will convict this fucker. His DNA on the pistol grip was sufficient evidence to charge him, so really they are half way to a conviction aren't they?

None of us know what went on.Things do not look good for Neil ---but he is innocent until he is found to be guilty. Two families are in pain and need to handle things as they see fit. Let us remember that the Constitution says that ANY defendant may have his case dismissed if it can be shown that he cannot get a fair trial anywhere. So lt's COOL IT .
