I'm sure if given a choice she would have chose to get a job even though she would have missed Lilly terribly during the day. There is no excuse, NONE! If I were to kill my baby daughter, I would feel so bad that I would have to shoot myself in the head, because I could never live with that fact. People are saying he's a nice, great guy--well, everyone thought that of Pertson as well. Having a hard time understanding why some are defending him. He's a coward. A murder-suicide? Who makes the rules in that "deal" anyway? Even if he did kill himself after he killed his family did Rachel oblige? I think not! I read or heard that Rachel found out about the financial problems--if so, so what? They got in a fight and he decided to "fix" it if that's what happened? 3 years ago I had to get a restraining order against my former husband who is bipolar, was off his medication and had become a raging alcoholic.

He began making threats to me , including shooting me in the head while I slept, or having me killed by someone he knows who may have mob connections that we know. He made me aware he was fantasizing my death over and over in his head. Needless to say, I took all of this very seriously, and I took serious action to protect myself...and it was a terrifying period in my life.

During a deposition he admitted, under oath, of threatening to " blow my brains out and watch the blood and guts splatter on the wall." He said it so matter of factly...without any emotion, but I can tell you his attorney and mine were shocked by his admission and the graphic nature of it.

My former husband is an extremely successful business man, and no one knew the hell I was going throught during that time, or would they ever have thought that he was capable of such thoughts and potential violence.

It took him 18 months to get on medication, and more months following to get sober.

And just now, 3 years later, he is sober and rational and cannot believe the person he was at that time, and that he ever had such thoughts or fantasies.

Mental illness is real, and people lose it. I am fortunate that my former husband verbalized his thoughts, whereas these other men who we so often hear about today are silent killers, and their wives, family members and business associates never had a clue of what was really going on in their deranged minds until they act on it.

The news wires carry a story that says Neil did a Google search on "how to kill people by various methods." I checked that search just now, and as I suspected, it didn't return anything he could have used to effect murder without being caught. What a clueless space cadet to have 1) expected that such a search woudln't open him up to investigation if his family were to suddenly die, and 2) to have thought that offing his family would improve his life. At first, thats a few days ago, I said to myself: if this guy didn't come back to the US upon hearing news that his wife and child had been shot and let's not forget not turning up for their funeral, either he was guilty or he was in on the murder or he had to leave the US because he was going to get killed by however killed his family.

I was under the impression that a person must always be presumed innocent of a crime until proven guilty in a Court of Law.
The presumption of innocence is a cornerstone of a democratic society.
The fact is, you have no idea who killed this woman and her child. On the face of it, things may look bad for Neil Entwistle, but things are not always what they appear. It is very wrong of you to condemn this man on the basis of your suppositions, and before he has had an opportunity to defend himself in Court.

Neil Entwistle will not receive a fair trial in the United States of America. This is clear from the fact that the family of Rachel and lillian Entwistle are allowed to release statements assuming his guilt before it has been proven in a court of law.

Who says this is what happened? A court has not proven this to be the case.

I am from the UK and I have been looking at some of the comments made about NE which some of them are outragious. In the UK a person is arrested by the police, if they are charged by the police they are held in a holding cell until they appear before a Magistrates Court and then held in Custody for a date to be fixed for a Trial in a Crown Court. It has never ever been known in the UK to publicsise Court papers so that they are on full view to the members of the public, before a Trial.
We do not do that in the UK, it is known as Data Protection Acts. There is another point too about the UK. The courts can ask for a ban on Media being present. They can serve an order for Media restiction. Why has this not been issued in the USA, and why has NE been covicted beofore a Fair Trial, Why has he not made a complaint about his court papers being shown before his Trial. (This is if the law is different in the USA). It will be up to the Courts to find all the evidence to put it to the Jury to make their decision of GUILTY or NOT GUILTY. This is where the UK people don't understand and this is why we are so confused between the different ways your country operate your laws.
