Honestly, there is no other word for it. Remember Larry Lost It O'Donnell from the SwiftVet story? The idiot was melting down more quickly than a glacier sitting next to a refinery every night on the news . And now this at Huffington Post:
The L.A. Times is edging closer to the most likely reason for the 18 hour delay in reporting that the Vice President of the United States shot someone: "This was a hunting accident," said Gilbert San Miguel, chief deputy of the Kenedy County Sheriff's Office. "There was no alcohol or misconduct."
How do we know there was no alcohol? Cheney refused to talk to local authorities until the next day. No point in giving him a breathalyzer then. Every lawyer I've talked to assumes Cheney was too drunk to talk to the cops after the shooting. The next question for the White House should be: Was Cheney drunk?
Given his bio at HP, which in reality isn't far from zero given the ins and outs of executive producing, or sitting on a panel, it is fair to say this is a member of the MSM. Unfortunately, they seem to let every half-assed political hack with a liberal bias in today.
Executive Producer "The West Wing" - Panelist "The McLaughlin Group" - Former Chief of Staff, U.S. Senate Committee on Finance
So this would be MSM clown gets on a blog and spews out the nonsense above? I'm not sure which he discredits more, the MSM, or blogs. One can only hope Vice President Cheney doesn't wait too long after he's out of office to respond to O'Donnell himself.
Update: Radio Equalizer has more. Apparently there's another story at HP, too. How truly despicable.

What a f*****g moron! I'm a lawyer and drinking or not didn't cross my mind. He's the Vice President for God's sake.

I'm more apt to think he was waiting to see how bad the guy was. Here, hunting incidents with death resulting bring manslaughter charges.

The republicans couldn't buy this kind of stuff. democrats have completely lost their way. they are out of power and can't believe the American people are so dumb not to see their are the elites and can save all us common folk.

This whole thing is the most ridiculous shit ever. It's like NONE of these morons in the media or the left-winger partisans have ever gone hunting or known people who hunt--and the truth is, they probably haven't. Hunting accidents like this happen OFTEN. This is just opportunistic bullshit. Sure, it's a story--because it is kinda funny, and because it happens to be the Vice President. The WH mistake is not understanding that those people don't understand it, for not speaking to their ignorance. They responded as though EVERYONE knows shit happens when you're a hunter, that it's an accepted risk.
Next thing, you're going to hear the morons wanting to regulate hunting/guns some more. Count on it. Opportunistic bullshit.

What does it matter how often these incidents happen? The fact is Cheney is responsible for putting a man in the hospital.
Any regular joe would have been immedietely subjected to the breathalizer or blood test and would have had his gun(s) confiscated until the investigation was concluded. Not reporting the event casts doubt on the circumstances.

I feel pretty sure that if I were to shoot a fellow hunter, regardless of whether it was an innocent accident or not, that there would be questioning by the police quickly following the incident. Dan, why do you scoff at the idea of a vice president giving a simple accounting of events to the police after shooting someone?
Further, Beth, one of the previous commentors, made the statement that "hunting accidents like this happen all the time" and that "it's kind of funny". Now those are two of the most absurd statements I've heard in a long time. I know from experience that bird hunters often do get peppered with birdshot from other hunters across a field but rarely do actual injuries (i.e. pellets lodged in the heart and face) result because they are nowhere near as close as Cheney obviously was to Whittington. I wonder if Whittington thought the shooting was "kind of funny"?

Now that Cheney has admitted drinking that day, maybe you want to give the idea a little more thought.
Here's another thing to ponder. Should a man on Cheney's medications really be drinking?
