Iran To Host Holocaust Cartoon Contest

Of the Holocaust. Yeah ... good move, assholes.

IRAN'S largest selling newspaper announced today it was holding a contest on cartoons of the Holocaust in response to the publishing in European papers of caricatures of the Prophet Mohammed.

"It will be an international cartoon contest about the Holocaust," said Farid Mortazavi, the graphics editor for Hamshahri newspaper - which is published by Teheran's conservative municipality.
He said the plan was to turn the tables on the assertion that newspapers can print offensive material in the name of freedom of expression.

The difference is that if they publish cartoons ridiculing Holocaust victims, we won't wet ourselves and run out in the street burning their embassies and calling for their beheading. And it is funny how they always focus on Israel. Wasn't it Denmark they were pissed at ? I guess "hate Jews" is their default setting.

These folks are outrageous and don't know what the hell they are doing. Muslims???? Religion???? Give me a break. I now know what that stands for in my eyes. Those folks have showed their true colors by their demonstrating over a cartoon - FREEDOM OF SPEECH!!! Why don't they react that way to beheadings, planes flying into buildings, etc. No they have nothing more to do but to riot over nonsense. They are a big problem and need to be dealt with. Look at those Palestinians - what do they do??? Do they work??? Why is Saudi giving them money???? Good example of no democracy or most important education which these gov'ts want to keep the people down. You don't think those cowards hiding in the mountains are not the same...yes, they are. It is amazing how the world muslim population condone the Iranian President's suggestion annihilate Israel and sponsor Holocaust jewish cartoons. And yet, allow violence all around the world because of a harmless mohammed cartoon.

With Islam's archaic ideologies going back over 1500 years,it is also interesting to note that Middle Eastern countries prior to the advent of Islam have been influential and progressive empires, ie Babylon, Egypt, Assyrans, Persia, Pheonicians, etc.

After the advent of Islam in the Mideast, each and every middle eastern country have become basketcases economically and politically.

It is no wonder why Muslims are so intolerent, violent and backwards! I should know, I am female and was born in a Chinese muslim family and have lived in Indonesia, Malaysia and China. I know what I am talking about! I could only imagine how much worst it is in the backwards mideast in contrast to the progressive far east.

It perplexes me to see how educated young women could condone what the bigotted sexist islamic religion does to women and innocent people around the world.

As a person from Japan, I am disgusted by Muslims condoning the use of religion and violence to achieve their political means. Islam is born from bloodshed, conquest and violence since the days of their prophet mohammed, and still they use the same bloodshed and terrorist tactics to achieve their political means (nuclear wepons), rather than use their money to solve their economic problems in their countries. Haven't they seen how Japan and Germany rise up from the ashes of WWII and achieved economic superiority above and beyond that of the United States? If anything will solve the problems of the middle east, its root of all problems is definately islam. Don't blame the west for your problems, the problem is islam. Just look at the Far East for your inspiration!

wow, Muslims are going to be the destroyers of the free world, Look how warped there mindset is. Have you ever seen any of them condemn suicide bombings? or seen a sunni condemn violent act towards shiites? yet they pout over a political cartoon and cause violence and destruction over a cartoon that is pretty accurate. They object that Islam is a religion of violence yet how do they react when one objects to their violence? This is a religion of hate and destruction, they hate the free world.
I think we all need to start treating them how they treat democracy.
