But I don't like to use it to hurt other people. I do support free speech!!! But not the way Theo van Gogh did it, you know...don't get me wrong, I am not happy that they killed him, but he shouldn't said it that way...

Did you catch the former Editor of some Ney York paper who quit, along with a large group of his co workers because the owners of the paper refused to run the cartoons? I think he was on O' Rielly last night.

It's true Dan - why do you think everyone has scattered from reading your blog? Anyone that disagrees with you is automatically banished from the kingdom. You should practice what you preach.

Remember this, maybe this ought to be said more often and teach your kids too.
sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never harm me.
If we can't say what we want, what next?
Discussion of politics in basments with windows covered with foil?
Freedom will be a dim memory.

I am just saying that I do not want to use it to hurt other people. Respect...you have to earn it and I never said that what they did to Theo was good. Nobody has the right to take someone elses life!!
Posted by: Arubaanse | Wednesday, February 08, 2006 at 12:42 PM
Theo did hurt alot of people with his comment. And duh!!..ofcourse that is no reason the kill someone, but if just have respect for another human being this world would be a much better place to live in...that is my opinion.
Theo could have said it in a diplomatic way instead of insulting people.

"But not the way Theo van Gogh did it, you know...don't get me wrong, I am not happy that they killed him, but he shouldn't said it that way..."
Arubaanse: You should see the film (Submission) before you come to such a judgement. You may change your mind. Besides, nobody deserves to be murdered for their art, no matter how "offensive" it is. (Really, I doubt you would find the film offensive, except maybe for the fact that it has to do with rape and violence toward women--which itself is beyond offensive.)
Here's a link to the film:

To the others who say those who disagree with Dan are automatically banned: If that is so, how are you still here? I've been reading Dan since long before Natalee Holloway disappeared (which is when I suspect you began reading here), and I've seen others disagree with him and still be welcomed back here, and treated with respect ("agree to disagree"). From what I've seen around the comments here, I suspect it's the obnoxiousness of some of the commenters that get them banned--although I doubt the veracity of your assertion in the first place (seeing as how YOU are still here).
Regarding "why do you think everyone has scattered from reading your blog?":
If that is so, then it's because the Natalee Holloway story isn't front page news any more. Maybe some people need to broaden their horizons and realize there ARE other things going on in the world. The groupies for that story apparently don't care to hear about anything BUT the Natalee Holloway case, and if it's not here, neither are they. (For the record, I do care about the Natalee case, but I also read other things as well--so don't bother saying I am anti-Holloway or some silly crap.)

And I did not say, that he deserved to die...Gosh...I know that my english is not perfect...but this is the third times that i have to explain myself...I do NOT agree that they killed him...NOBODY HAS THE RIGHT TO TAKE SOMEBODY ELSE'S LIFE

The thing is most of you only know Theo van Gogh because of the film Submission...but if live in Holland or Dutch carribean...you would see him on tv or read his column in the newspaper "metro" and you would know what he said about other people...it's just hurtfull...He was so mean

Just checking to see if I've been banned here yet. Cino hasn't fully banned me yet from his site, but he screens a lot of my comments and has called out my "real name" as the worst of his critics.

Looks like several of the lawyers involved in the Taylor Behl case have inhabited several threads on the CourtTV site in order to manage the information flowing there for the benefit of their clients. It's a real cutthroat operation. Moderators have had to make some of the threads go poof because of the legal nastiness.
