Michelle Malkin has a video grab up from Fox News. I believe Sean Hannity joins Bill O'Reilly of Fox News in playing up the controversial port deal? He took on colleges which accepted money from Saudi Prince Al-Waleed Bin Talai.
Well, Harvard and Georgetown universities are now accepting $20 million each from Prince Al-Waleed Bin Talal for their Islamic studies programs. … This is a bad guy. Rudy was right to decline the money. Why would these universities take money from him?
But no one seems to mind the same Saudi Prince owning over 5% of News Corp, BILLIONAIRE Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal has raised his stake in media giant News Corporation to 5.46 per cent of voting shares - or that he has openly boasted of being able to influence the news.
I picked up the phone and called Murdoch… (and told him) these are not Muslim riots, these are riots out of poverty. Within 30 minutes, the title was changed from Muslim riots to civil riots.
You may recall the Saudi Prince from his post 9-11 comments, or Rudy Giuliani turning down his money. via lgf
“However, at times like this one, we must address some of the issues that led to such a criminal attack. I believe the government of the United States of America should re-examine its policies in the Middle East and adopt a more balanced stance towards the Palestinian cause.” The press release attributed the statement to the prince.
“ ‘Our Palestinian brethren continue to be slaughtered at the hands of Israelis while the world turns the other cheek,’ Prince Alwaleed stressed,” the release read.
The mayor, who had been told of the press release just moments before his daily briefing but after receiving the check, was visibly annoyed by it. “I entirely reject that statement,” he said. “That’s totally contrary to what I said at the United Nations,” he added, referring to his address to the international body last Monday.
And he told Prince Alwaleed bin Talal bin Abdul Aziz Alsaud to take his $10 million and shove it ...
Whether one supports the port deal or not is an open question. But at least read below the headlines to determine how universal are the principles for which some purport to stand. I haven't seen Fox News going out of its way to post any of the Mohammed cartoons. Wouldn't that have been both a bold and seemingly natural move for them?

How much different is it that the US government fully advocates and in many cases subsidizes ethnic studies teaching slots, even entire programs, specifically black and Chicano. I personally have no problem with the subsidies; perhaps they would lend a better and clearer understanding of the subject. And, by the way, the Chicanos aren't know for rioting, but the blacks are.

RE: "Saudi Prince Al-Waleed Bin Talai"
That should read, "Al-Waleed Bin Talai, cousin of the Dictator of Saudi Arabia and fifth richest person in the world." The terms 'prince' and 'king' belongs in historical books on the Middle Ages.

How about no foreign ownership of American based companies.! Why don't we just bend over. Does the world think we're all gay cowboys? Can conservative Bloggers unite into a political party-seems to be the only intelligent voice out there.

For the record, Brit Hume did show one of the Mohammed cartoons on "Special Report".

Al-Waleed Bin Talal owns 5.46% of News Corp.? So. Anyone think Rupert Murdoch is 'afraid' of this guy?
Donating money for studies is a good thing. Al-Waleed Bin Talal does not get to write the curriculum. To attend these universities, you have to be blessed with exceptional brains. It is not a stretch to figure those taking these courses will make up their own minds and not be 'propagandized' by the subject matter. I would take the course if I were there.
Why should Hannity be obligated to talk about Talal owning a few token shares in the business he works for? If that were relevant, he'd have to, for full disclosure, mention all the other stockholders. His job is to play opposite Allan Colmes. The producers evidently felt Talal's donation to the universities was worth a story. Hannity is an ass, but he is doing his job. That's why he sits there night after night.
Brit Hume did show one cartoon, and he showed the full page of all the cartoons that The Weekly Standard published. In other words, Fox 'advocated' the publication by talking about it and showing the page.
Yeah, FOX could have brought the house down and made a name for themselves by being the only station to show the cartoons. I sure wish they had. It's too late now, but I bet they look back on their decision not to show them with regret. Too bad every station and newspaper in the country didn't publish them all on the same day. IN YOUR FACE, assholes!
