Extending A Hand To Radical Islam
Stephen Green at Vodkapundit quotes Sun Tzu:
If your enemy is angry, irritate him.
-Sun Tzu
Given time to ponder, after some of my earlier, more terse responses to the cartoon fiasco and radical Islam, I've decided it is time to get honest about what the world of Islam lacks. My thinking is that if we can begin to build some bridges, to extend a hand, if you will, we can ultimately see much more good come from this situation, as opposed to bad.
So, among other things, perhaps, just what is it that radical Islam lacks? Well, for starters, capitalism, of course. That's right. Think about it. We in the West have grown up seeing our religious icons, not only hanging from walls, but adorning the dashboard, hanging around a boy or girl friend's neck. The poor radical Islamists have never had that experience.
In hopes of rectifying that great tragedy, I am going to try and put together a commercial consortium of sorts ... I'm thinking I'll call it Mohamma-Mart, for short.
Just imagine the convenient and innovative products we can carry to bring both peace and profit to radical Islam. Hmm. Well, there is always that handy, dandy Mohammed toilet brush for the burka clad housekeeper. What a time and labor saver that little bugger can be.
Now, we're just getting started, so the product line is a little thin. But, I'm thinking, what radical Islamist home would be complete without a velvet, as in Elvis, Mohammed hanging on the living room wall.
And I'm even thinking we can eventually move into the adult market over time, start to loosen our radical Islamist bretheren up just a little bit. What better item to do that than the Mohammed vibrator, complete with turbo powered turban tip to reach into all those special places just for kicks. I mean, you can't have a lot of fun with dozens of virgins if you don't take your sex toys along on the trip.
Extend a hand to radical Islam ... that's my philosophy from now on.

It is amazing how the world muslim population condone the Iranian President's suggestion annihilate Israel and sponsor Holocaust jewish cartoons. And yet, allow violence all around the world because of a harmless mohammed cartoon.
With Islam's archaic ideologies going back over 1500 years,it is also interesting to note that Middle Eastern countries prior to the advent of Islam have been influential and progressive empires, ie Babylon, Egypt, Assyrans, Persia, Pheonicians, etc.
After the advent of Islam in the Mideast, each and every middle eastern country have become basketcases economically and politically.
It is no wonder why Muslims are so intolerent, violent and backwards! I should know, I am female and was born in a Chinese muslim family and have lived in Indonesia, Malaysia and China. I know what I am talking about! I could only imagine how much worst it is in the backwards mideast in contrast to the progressive far east.
It perplexes me to see how educated young women could condone what the bigotted sexist islamic religion does to women and innocent people around the world.
I am so glad that I am not living in the middle east.

But you bring up an important point in what you don't do in your dislike of the image, mrskrass. No where in your post do you threaten anyone with bodily harm with posting an image that you don't appreciate.
That is the difference between Western culture and Islamic culture. We teach our children that violence is not an answer when you have differing opinions than others, we recognize that others have different beliefs and values and while we may not agree with them we shake our heads and get on with life. I don't think I need to point out what Islamic culture teaches their children. But intolerance is the word that pops first into my mind.

Why is everyone suddenly using this picture? Michelle has it on her arubanboycott site as wel... It was taken years ago during a Feyenoord match(football / soccer club in Rotterdam, Netherlands). I find it pretty sad that such a young child is making such gestures....
Why do you use it? Find it funny? Well, I don't!

Sorry Cybrludite, but he is extending his right hand. The photo has been printed backwards. Trust me, I know, the little tyke is wearing my club's (Feyenoord) shirt and the logo on his chest is a capital F (in the red and white circle).
I agree with his sentiments though.

And what better hand to extend to them but the left one...

Yeah, but he's like 3! I wonder where he learned that from?
