TEHRAN (Reuters) - Scores of Iranian demonstrators hurled petrol bombs at the British embassy on Tuesday in renewed protests over the publication of cartoons depicting the Prophet Mohammad and Western opposition to Tehran's nuclear ambitions.
The protesters, mostly religious seminary students, chanted "Death to Tony Blair", "Death to Britain" and Death to America" while throwing hundreds of stones at the embassy buildings, smashing many windows.
If one assumes nothing like the above happens in Iran without the knowledge of the government, you almost have to look at this as retaliation for Britain's stance on Iran's nuclear program.
Iran is sending much stronger signals of resistance to international pressure than Iraq ever did. But can the UN send a strong message back? Rhetorical question, forgive me. It'll be interesting to see what the Brits will do.
So, what was that I was just saying?

I wonder if Tony took any lessons from Maggie?
Could it be the ploy by Iran to bring USA in to help Britain?

RE: "If one assumes nothing like the above happens in Iran without the knowledge of the government."
I don't make that assumption. Pakistan is a brutal military dictatorship and they have problems controlling the angry crowds, madrassa students, and puritanical clerics. Iranian "religious seminary students" are fully capable of organizing anti-western violence without any help from the government.

Why are we WAITING? Another rhetorical question.

We're waiting for the EU to get their panties in a wad. God what complacent effetes they are! They think we're a bunch of crybaby sissies. They still don't get it. Soon, though.....
