Bizarre
MANILA, Philippines (AP) - A stampede broke out early Saturday outside a stadium near Manila where thousands had lined up to watch a popular game show, killing at least 88 people and injuring 280 others, officials said.
About 30,000 people were waiting to get inside the stadium for the program Wowowee when the mayhem erupted, said Vicente Eusebio, the mayor of Pasig, the Manila suburb where the stampede occurred.

Terrorism in another form.

I hear stories like this and hear about the violence at European soccer games, and I can't believe it. It just amazes me that people can become so much like animals. Over the years, I have become, like most I suspect, inured to horror stories like this as the MSM presents us with one right after the other. But I have one memory that comes to haunt me every time I hear of these particular kinds of events. About twenty years ago, a huge arena near DC had a concert and decided to have open seating. That meant first-come, first-served. Thousands of young people lined up, and when they opened the doors, there was a stampede and a sixteen-year-old girl was killed. I wasn't inured to the news at that time, and I recall being stunned by how horrific this was. I kept thinking of the girl saying goodbye to her parents that night and her parents telling her to have a good time, be careful and all that. Then I pictured the police ringing their doorbell to tell these parents that their daughter was trampled to death on the concrete outside the arena. How does one ever reconcile that in their minds? She fell down, pushed by the rushing crowd, and she was trampled. How does a parent get their mind around something like that? All I could think about was how long it took her to die, how painful it must have been, how desperate she must have been, and how utterly pointless it was. Stomped to death. ugh...
I wonder what God has in mind for people who are stomped to death? What I really wonder is why He lets it happen.

It is understandable why a person becomes inured to what is going on in the world today. I feel the same way at times, however, I also sit back and wonder why the powers that be instigate these things. Did they not think that somebody could get hurt by doing this? I also wonder why the media thinks that they can use the 'freedom and speech and the press' excuse no matter what. For instance the Mohammed Caricatures. In my book the media abused that freedom and only God knows where it will lead. We keep asking why God let it happen. God didn't let it happen - society let it happen. We also have freedom of choice given to us by God and probably when He gave us the Freedom of Choice, He gave up some of his power over us as well. That is my opinion anyway.

Betty,
1. 'powers that be'
2. 'media'
3. 'Constitutional rights'
4. 'God'
5. 'Society'
6. 'God-given freedom of choice'
7. 'freedom of choice by man as a result of what God has given up'
So where does the responsibility lie?

Heard dogs really needed to be in place to corral all these people into the stadium.
