I pointed out here that the media was premature in calling the recent strike in Pakistan botched. I'd say four dead terrorists, though not the 10 or 12 desired, isn't really botched. And, yes, the collateral damage is unfortunate.
Perhaps they shouldn't have invited terrorists for dinner, and especially not with their children in the home. That decision and subsequent risk is on them. Are we really suppose to believe that all those foreign terrorists were getting together for tea? TNT maybe ... tea, sorry, I'm not buying it.
PESHAWAR, Pakistan Jan 17, 2006 — At least four foreign terrorists died in the purported U.S. airstrike aimed at al-Qaida's No. 2 leader in a Pakistani border village, the provincial government said Tuesday.
A statement, issued by the administration of Pakistan's semiautonomous tribal regions bordering Afghanistan, also said that between 10 and 12 foreign extremists had been invited to the dinner at the village hit in Friday's attack.
It was the first official confirmation by Pakistani authorities that foreign militants were killed in the attack on the village of Damadola. Women and children also died, triggering outrage in this Islamic nation.

I am still betting that Zawahiri was killed in the strike.
Think about how Pakistan needs to deal with this political situation....
Pakistanis are pissed because they are working with the Americans. If they were to admit that they are helping us exterminate Al Queda within the borders, that would not play well with the population...much worse than letting them blow off steam over a few villagers.
The easier path is to let us do what we did, provide disinformation that we killed innocents, condemn it, and let people portest about it.
Do you not think for a second that Pakistan would be taking this to the UN's highest levels for action if we just indiscriminately bombed civilians of their country. They aren't doing this.
I personally think that we got our man.....md

Don't know about them getting any particular guy, but I am in agreement with the rest of your assessment. Good points!
