Rachel And Lillian Entwistle Murdered, Husband Neil Sought

Rachel Entwistle and her nine-month old daughter Lillian were found shot to death in their rented Hopkinton, Massachusetts home over the weekend. Police are looking for the husband, Neil Entwistle, as a person of interest. He is reported to be traveling, but it appears they have a line on his whereabouts.

Police entered the home and discovered the fully clothed bodies of the victims in the bed of the master bedroom under a pile of blankets. Investigators first believed the cause of death may have been medical or accidental, such as carbon monoxide poisoning.

But as the bodies were being moved, police discovered the wounds from what is believed to be a single small-caliber bullet that passed through both the mother and daughter’s torsos, according to Coakley.

There was little or no blood on the bed, she said. No weapon was found. Autopsy results are expected tomorrow.

The couples appears to have enjoyed traveling and may have recently relocated from England. An on line diary captured events from their marriage, as well as the birth and early months of Lillian's life.

The couple was married in 2003. Neil Entwistle is an unemployed computer worker and it seems the couple had rented the $2,700 a month home for a period of ten days while Neil was seeking work in the area. Developing ... as they say.

Okay, so if Neil did not do it, would he not be freaking because no one has answered the phone in days? Would he not check in at least once a day? They are in a new country, new home and then the baby! Dunno. Geez, I pray it was not him, but where the heck is he?

There is a minor mistake in this article. They said the police are looking for the husband. If so, why is the article published with names and photos? As well, why are the details of the manner of death published? You have to inform next of kin first.... You don't just let them read about the death of a wife and child in the newspaper over breakfast.

Phoenix, my understanding is that it was next of kin coming for a visit who alerted the police that something was wrong in the first place. What you say is true, but it would be a surprising mistake on the part of the Boston Herald.

I guess since they are unable to locate the father/husband and someone else was notified then it was justified. They said he (the husband/father) was a "person of interest".

rachel and lilan were the most wonderful people... its not fair that their lives were cut short. we will all forever miss them, there will forever be a void that can never be replaced. i pray for whoever did this that they are brought to justice, and that they someday realize just how much they have hurt those that loved rachel and baby lily...

Lara, you sound as if you knew Rachel and Lillian. Do you have a comment about Neil, is it possible that he is the murderer?

After reading at Huff's site, and seeing Neil's ebay web site and some other web sites of his with regard to pornography, bogus software, and his get-rich-quick schemes, I wonder about him now.

At first look at the "family" site, I thought maybe someone has Neil or has disposed of Neil elsewhere. The site looked so wholesome and loving. The comments all sounded very loving towards this happy couple (I assume they were happy from the posts there).

Then I went to the not so wholesome sites (well, there were pictures of VERY wholesome girls on some of these sites). Now, I wonder. His ebay ratings went to hell in a hand basket the first part of January. Someone even listed Rachel's name and the town in which they lived in the comments section of ebay. That's pretty scarry that ebayers were angry they did not get what they paid for, and Rachels name and the city were mentioned for all the other ebayers to learn. Could it have been someone from ebay that got their revenge? Could it be that Neil was dealing with other shady areas and people and Rachel and Lillian were just caught in the middle of everything.

They had to be getting an income from somewhere to be able to afford their new home, and a BMW. But, neither of them is employed? Where did the income come from? These scam web sites and scam ebay sales? Something is just not quite right with this entire story, there is some shady stuff going on here.

That poor baby, only a few months in this world, she was so darn cute, and always smiling in her photos. It would be nice to get some insight into what kind of person Neil is.

People go insane... Some are born that way, but most make it there with a little help from life. I do not offer a defence for this young man, however I do recognize that society is producing some pretty messed up individuals.
How often will we address these? Everytime someone dies???

Perhaps it's time we started to address the reasons that people end up insane in the first place.

Work, Media Fear Factor, Financial Worries, Family Pressure, High Alcohol usage,
Drug use, Genetics...

Most are not fixable right off the bat, but we sure know how to make a start on some of the other things:

Perhaps if television spent more time spreading messages of hope instead of messages of violence (yeah we all want to go after the video games, but TV has been doing it for years). Radio, Newspapers and the American media in general should start to recognize that they are failing miserably in helping build a healthy society. Can anyone actually honestly deny the fear factor that we are subjected to. Crikey my kids can't even watch the cartoon channel because the commercials are not rated appropriately. For 10 years my kids watch Sesame Street, then after that they learn how to carefully slice open a body in an autopsy... Great what an educational experience TV has become.

Support Networks for people under stress, or who have young children at home. Haven't we begun to realize that the husband can suffer depression too after a new born baby arrives.

One more thing - forget about religion and God... They are not requirements in spreading the word of love and peace. Perhaps if we didn't have to SUBSCRIBE to a particular religion then more people would live better lives out of love and not fear of retribution.

This should never be allowed to happen...

And yes it is ok to mourn, but it is shameless for us to sit in our living rooms and wait for it to happen again...

I am a UK resident. I was totally gutted when I heard on the UK News about this evil, nasty dispicable crime in Boston.
It has left my head baffled to this mystery crime? I am thinking a lot of thoughts like of what you people are writing and also thinking.
Reading through the comments which have been made by various people on the different US sites. It is making me wonder if the person(s) who killed Rachel and Baby Lillian is a Dr Jeckyl and Mr Hyde character.
Nothing on this earth will bring back Rachel or her daughter.
Someone out there must know something about this dispicable, evil crime.
I am sure the Authorities in the US who are currently investigating this evil crime will soon have the answers to who has done it.

Neil Entwistle is stupid thinking that by fleeing USA will be safe, nobody will mess with his shameless arse. This man left his BMW vehicle parked at Logan airport parking lot of Boston when he jumped on a plane to UK. A question: if that vehicle was the only vehicle used by Rachel and Neil Entwistle, why that man left the vehicle parked there when he flew out to UK?.
