Fox is reporting that one of the reasons Aruban authorities will be traveling to Mountain Brook, Alabama, is too clear up possible conflicts in what different MB students told the FBI during previous interviews. They didn't mention what those inconsistencies might be.
Aruban police may be in Alabama as early as Monday to interview Mountain Brook High School graduates who were with Natalee Holloway when she disappeared in Aruba.
FBI spokesman Raymond Zicarelli said Saturday that Aruban officials told his office they plan to arrive this week.
"The Aruban authorities along with the FBI will be interviewing some of the individuals on the trip," he said.
Additionally, it seems strange that as per the article above the ALE had to wait so long to question the students given that the case has such high visibility and the request was sent through the State Department some time ago. It also apprears as though the process may have been expedited by Rep. Spencer Bachus at some point after having met with, I believe, Dutch and Aruban authorities in Washington, DC.
The Aruban public prosecutor's office petitioned the State Department last fall for permission to speak with the students, and last month officials asked Rep. Spencer Bachus to expedite the process.

Fact:
Van Straaten retired immediately after the FBI summoned A.L.E. to Quantico...Additionally, many officials in Aruba suddenly went on vacation. One of there own was then investigated and released. He was held and released with PVDS with no publicity. PVDS walked-not because he chose to remain silent, but because he threatened to sing.

Columbo, please give the names of the 9-15 lawyers of Joran!! Or did you hear this from Betty Boop Twitty? O yes, Betty is so stupid she not even remembers her own lies she has made every day since the disappearance of Natalee (how many are that, Columboy?). The interest for this case is in Holland ZERO POINT ZERO... How many unsolved disappearances are there in the USA?? This whole case is about sensation, tv ratings, power talk, xenophobia and $$$$. Your posts are very immature and very boring to say the least.

Paulus is now employed by Joran's defense lawyer. No conflict of interest here, LOL.

Columbo, I guess you are part of the slandering team too?
Those comments are not facts, just lies. Van Straaten was to retired when this case happened, retired months later to help in the investigation. Thf F.B.I. did not summoned no one. The A.L.E. after receiving a letter from the Prime Minister to let the F.B.I. have more active role eventhough it is not their jurisdiction and was a fine line in the law for this, a ALE member went there with information over the case to discuss it with the F.B.I.
About the vacation that Nancy Waste made fun of Karen Jannsen, when she asked for a few days off while she was in Holland in order to give some evidence for further forensic analysis, and it's when she also illegally let them test DNA of the suspects. Remember? And you know this result? Eventhough it is not admissable in court because she did not ask a judge? IT WAS NEGATIVE.
And PVDS walked free because there was any evidence or proof against him that he did something illegal or comitted a crime.
Next time PR-team, get the facts straight. Some that just go with the flow or fall for the Patriotism thing, might believe you. Ask Riley.

Karen Janssen was on the case from day one. The only one changed in the DA was the spokesperson when in the beginning they had press conferences. The other DA that could replace Karen, was pregnant that time. If Lugo was working those days, believe, whe was a real B*ch and all those media circus would not have happened. Karen was too soft for those reporters.
Jan van Straatten after he retired was replaced by Gerold Dompig.

Columbo, normally on a Sunday no body works, it's off day, except for the investigating team. He was released on Sunday, on an order of a judge who was flown in specially for the case, in order to avoid what your media has been screaming without evidence: cover-up and corruption.
Goverment officials do not work on Sunday or as you call it one-day vacation.

Aruban Investigators Begin Interviews In Alabama
Investigators Will Interview 18 Of Natalee Holloway's Classmates
POSTED: 7:38 pm CST January 24, 2006
UPDATED: 7:55 pm CST January 24, 2006
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Aruban authorities have come to Alabama to the first time since the disappearance of Mountain Brook teen Natalee Holloway last May.
Some of their work will be concentrated in the Mountain Brook area. They will also be visiting several southeastern colleges, including Alabama, Auburn and the University of Tennessee, where former Mountain Brook students are now in school.
Two investigators will be conducting 18 prearranged interviews with students who were on the senior trip with Holloway.
The 18 students being interviewed are viewed as key witnesses since they were with Holloway at Carlos and Charley's bar the night she disappeared.
Holloway's mother, Beth Twitty, said the local visit by Aruban authorities is encouraging.
"I know the students are more than willing to do this. I mean, they want to see a prosecution as much as the family does," Twitty said.
She hopes it signals a near end to the case, but she's not sure what new information Holloway's friends might have.
"I felt that the officials had the information they needed to proceed forward without reinterviewing the students," Twitty said.
Twitty hopes the Aruban investigation in Alabama is a final step in the case, but nearly eight months after Holloway's disappearance, new questions threaten to raise old emotions.
"It does concern me about reopening these wounds with these classmates of Natalee's and I just only hope it is certainly warranted. I hope it is crucial to the investigation that they're coming here," Twitty said.
Twitty said she believes there is a strong reason for Aruban authorities to be here now and she is confident the Aruban government will come forward with criminal charges.

It'll come down to that cellphone call. There's a reason why we cannot get any details on that.

Unlike most cases of missing people, we do know who NH was with...and I think evidence of a coverup is how A.L.E. treated these suspects under the guise of 'we are not cowboys.' This was in stark contrast to the way in which the two security guards-neither of whom were ever seen with NH-were treated.
Posted by: COLUMBO | Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at 02:35 PM
and how do you KNOW they were never seen with Natalee? Have you examined all the police statements? On what evidence do you make this assumption?
There is 300 pages of evidence that was presented to the judge, on ALL aspects of this case. do you know what was in that evidence, and all those statements?
You are making the assumption that the guards were arrested only because of the statements of the three boys. That is not so. There were statements from other individuals. Just because it hasn't been made public, doesn't mean the information isn't there.

LAW OFFICIALS FEAR THAT ONE OF THEIR OWN DISPOSED OF NATALEE'S BODY
By DAVID WRIGHT
Prosecutors in the Natalee Holloway case are investigating the chilling possibility that a renegade cop may have helped dispose of the 18-year-old honor student's body, The National Enquirer has learned.
And, as prime suspect Joran Van der Sloot enjoys freedom in Holland, it fuels fears that the case against him and two other suspects in Aruba has been successfully sabotaged. "There are powerful people on the island who don't want this case solved," said a close source.
And American investigator Arthur Wood, a retired U.S. Secret Service agent, said bitterly: "There's no doubt in my mind that the case has been sabotaged from within.
"Soon after Natalee went missing on May 30, one of the top detectives on the case told me he had a reliable lead that she was being held in a certain house — and asked me to do surveillance there. I was puzzled and I told him, 'Surely that's a job for the police.' He looked me in the eye and said, 'I can't trust my own officers.'" When Wood searched the house, he found nothing.
Joran, 18, and his pals Deepak and Satish Kalpoe were released from prison in early September — despite remaining under suspicion of rape and murder. Two days later Joran an was allowed to fly to Holland and enroll in college in Arnhem.
Meanwhile in Aruba, the possibility that a cop may have been involved in Natalee's disappearance has been a well-kept secret until now.
Wood, who's been on the island since June, said: "It began with a witness who was at the lighthouse area on the beach shortly before a big search for Natalee's body was about to start there. In the distance he saw a police car on the dunes with its trunk open. When the witness got closer, the man slammed down the trunk and took off.
"Some time later a woman came forward. She said she'd been told that a policeman helped to dig up Natalee's body from the sand at the lighthouse where it had been hidden.
"Everyone agrees that if the body was dumped at sea, as detectives believe, the killers must have had some cool-headed professional help. The cop could have provided that."
"I believe the cover-up began from the start. The police commissioner then in charge of the case was an old friend of Joran's father Paulus — and sources claim he was overheard agonizing over the case.'"
"Even Natalee's mother Beth Twitty found evidence of a cover-up. She gave a statement to police, which she was told had to be typed in Dutch before she signed it. Weeks later she had someone translate the document she had signed — and was shocked to find some things were totally different from what she'd told police.
"Significantly, details about her conversations with Joran and the Kalpoes had been changed — to the benefit of the boys."
Joran's flight to Holland has only deepened the grief of Natalee's mother, who turned detective to find much of the evidence that put Joran behind bars.
Said an insider: "When he was released, Beth cried all night. But she won't give up. She said 'I'm going to make sure Natalee's voice will never be silenced.' "

Colombo - Re the Dice man. The dicemen were reference in the Shango posts early in this case as knowing what happened to Natalee. Most initially assume that the reference was to casino table workers throwing dice. Then others later posted that the the Dice man were a band that played at the Soul Beach Festival that was occurring during the time the MB youth vacationed there. Natalee went to their concert, the end of the festival before going to C&Cs, the night she disappeared. This was the last night of the festival. I wouldn't rule this out as a long shot possibility of having something to do with her disappearance.

Correction - Natalee went to the Soul Beach Festival concert before going to C&Cs - don't know if she heard the dicemen who played during the festival.

How many times do you people have to be told? The kids from Mt. Brook were interviewed upon returning and on into late June. They are not withholding information. It was reported that Mickie Johns was in possession at his home, at the time of arrest,of some of the MB youth's cameras. But why were they not reported missing and why wasn't he arrested for having them? Some wondered if there may have been some drugs exchanged, like a swap. Or it all could have just been another rumor.
Posted by: shonane | Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at 03:39 AM
Re interviews of the MB students - I think a reinterview with the Aruba PI there is a good idea since they have talked to a huge number of people during the investigation. The MB youth must have been in great distress when initially interviewed and the questions that the FBI asked may not have covered questions that need clarifying not that the investigation has covered so much. I'll bet it will be a relief for the MB youth to be able to made a restatement and assist with any ideas that may have come to them that may assist with the investigation. Since they are not in the initial shock period and have probably though about the trip and what could have happened - probably over and over- they may recall some details now that may not have emerged in the first interview. Who knows, might just have some missing information key that is needed.
Posted by: shonane | Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at 03:47 AM
You do not actually know what methods were used on Joran during interrogation. He was lawyered up before he was arrested. IF ALE had used the zanse methods as you suggest, Joran would have told them what he did and where Natalee is and this case would have been solved within a week.
Posted by: Skye | Tuesday, January 24, 2006 at 09:43 AM
I recall that Hasibokos reported that KJ said the interrogations were taped so that there would be no doubt as to the methods used. Where are the tapes, and what do they show? MO
Since the beginning of this story, there have been reports that Natalee was sold into the sex trade. How would it look for the tourism industry of Aruba if indeed she is alive and being used? I have a lot of concerns about the young American woman mentioned in the Vanity Fair article that was tracked down by Renfro and the group early on. How did she get involved in that lifestyle? Addicted to drugs? How does she support herself? Prostitution in crack houses? I recall that she was pregnant. I'd imagine that she has given birth by now. Are her parents looking for her? Did she tell them she found the man of her dreams and plans to say in Aruba? Did she tell them she is addicted to or on drugs, as I recall the article suggests? Can someone who is addicted make a rational decision about selling themselves to support a habit? Just my humble opinions.

Interviewed? I have often thought that perhaps there is no evidence in this case because ALE is not looking in the right place. She wasn't at the HI as was reported to have been left. Is there evidence that she was left at the beach? At the lighthouse? There is an article in the NE (Jan 30th) issue that suggests she may have been left at a (brothel/hot sheets place known for use by Aruban teens to take girls) red bungalow in a residential neighborhood in Noord. Was this place ever searched by a forensics team? It was remodeled during the summer and reopened as a night club. How soon after NH disappeared was it remodeled? What was it before? Were neighbors interviewed? They must have noticed things going on over the years. I think these kinds of places exist everywhere. But this one has been linked to the disappearance of Natalee Holloway. Just my humble opinion.

I heard that Aruba has - before the Natalee Holloway case been educating their young about GHB. I heard Dave Holloway say he had talked to an Aruban Educator, and this Aruban person said that this does happen on their island and they are educating their young on this. I am glad to hear they are educating.

MB students and/or chaperones were interviewed by the FBI months ago BY PHONE as reported by Rita Cosby last night. Since when is this appropriate in a criminal investigation? The group of students/adults Natalee spent 5 days with in Aruba were never de-briefed; this fact alone contributes to the primary deficiency of the investigation.
As we have learned only 21 of the female students will be interviewed now. What about the males and the chaperones? I don't know of any thorough criminal investigation that wouldn't deem it mandatory to thoroughly de-brief each and every person on that trip with Natalee.
Is it any wonder this case remains open? The investigation was stonewalled against the single most important group of witnesses being fully interrogated. It appears even now, the majority of those on the Aruba trip will not be interviewed at all.
From Rita Cosby Jan 24. Her guest Pat, an investigator:
"Walk them through chronologically from the time they landed to the time they left. Something they saw, heard, all the little facts, could, when combined together, change the landscape of the case. I think it's very important that these students and chaperones be de-briefed. The potential benefits certainly outstrips any pain it may cause these students."

I wonder why Beth was so adamant in letting Natalee go to Aruba in the first place, especially when Dave was against it....There's got to be more to it than just winning out over Dave..IMHO. It stinks of a plan, possibly a plan that went wrong at the last minute, because Natalee was fed up with being used by her family. I still believe Beth knows where Natalee is alive. So many boats present, so many visitors at the soul festival and Natalee hooked up with someone there.
