Natalee Holloway - Conflicts In FBI Reports

Fox is reporting that one of the reasons Aruban authorities will be traveling to Mountain Brook, Alabama, is too clear up possible conflicts in what different MB students told the FBI during previous interviews. They didn't mention what those inconsistencies might be.

Aruban police may be in Alabama as early as Monday to interview Mountain Brook High School graduates who were with Natalee Holloway when she disappeared in Aruba.

FBI spokesman Raymond Zicarelli said Saturday that Aruban officials told his office they plan to arrive this week.

"The Aruban authorities along with the FBI will be interviewing some of the individuals on the trip," he said.

Additionally, it seems strange that as per the article above the ALE had to wait so long to question the students given that the case has such high visibility and the request was sent through the State Department some time ago. It also apprears as though the process may have been expedited by Rep. Spencer Bachus at some point after having met with, I believe, Dutch and Aruban authorities in Washington, DC.

The Aruban public prosecutor's office petitioned the State Department last fall for permission to speak with the students, and last month officials asked Rep. Spencer Bachus to expedite the process.

I think ones to interview are the Twitty Twins....Francis Ellen...she has made various conflicting stories in media interviews, also was the first to say "taxi" and then her last public interview she claimed Natalee was back at the Holiday Inn at 3 am

You do not actually know what methods were used on Joran during interrogation. He was lawyered up before he was arrested. IF ALE had used the zanse methods as you suggest, Joran would have told them what he did and where Natalee is and this case would have been solved within a week.

Why did this take so long to clear up the MB kids discrepancies? I thought it is normal protocol to interview friends and family first so to rule them out. Is normal protocol not allowed to be followed in this case because Beth doesn't think the MB kids have any info? I mean every investigation has to follow guidelines and it seems to me that was tossed out the window with whatever Beth complained to the media about on TV at night the next day the Aruban ALE was running in circles trying to do whatever she said.. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the Aruban's getting permission from the all powerful US State Dept or FBI because we are perfect and do things exactly when we are told by a victims family.. There is never any waiting we solve crimes the first week they are committed not like Aruba..

I can't believe it has taken this long to get the investigation to MB. I certainly hope they do it right with statements recorded by a court reporter along with video tape in the presence of the ALE, FBI and everyone allowed to ask their questions. They should interview formally all of the kids that were on that trip, chaperones (or whatever they were called), the Twittys and Dave and the peripheral relatives that had so much to do with the aftermath. Get it all down and recorded and then analyze, analyze, analyze -- I'm sure the FBI and ALE have reconstruction experts that can make some sense out of all of this. I think there is an answer, its just a matter of unplugging the block of information. IMHO Moey

Two Aruban police investigators were en route to
Alabama on Monday and plan to spend the next week to
10 days interviewing 21 friends of missing Mountain
Brook teen Natalee Holloway.

At the same time, another team was visiting the FBI
regional headquarters in Barbados to look at documents in
the case, and ground searches could start up again in the
next few days, Aruba Deputy Police Chief Gerold Dompig
said Monday.

Birmingham FBI agents will help conduct the voluntary
interviews, said FBI spokesman Raymond Zicarelli.

We're here to assist and coordinate in the interview
process," he said. "The FBI will be present during the
interviews, but this is an Aruban investigation."

The FBI spoke with many of the Mountain Brook High
School graduates in the weeks after Holloway, then 18,
disappeared May 30 on the Caribbean island. But since
then, Aruban police have asked to return to fill in gaps.

Dompig said his team had a "wish list" of 21 people to
interview. He would not say if any of the adults who were
on the trip are included in that list.

Although many on the list are in the state, others may be
away at school. Dompig said the team is even considering
flying some potential interviewees back to Birmingham.

He said the team plans to stay as long as 10 days but may
need to remain longer.

Meanwhile, he said, his team plans to research a stretch of
dunes near a lighthouse on the western edge of Aruba if
cadaver dogs expected to be loaned by the FBI arrive this
week. The search, which started Jan. 16 but was quickly
aborted, is based on a tip he said matched other
information.

Those two things together gave us the feeling that we had
to go back," he said.

I surmise that this is a cleaning up the tables sort of action by the FBI and ALE.

I understand that they will be looking to close the timeline given by the three suspects, eliminate finger pointing by the orignal 3 suspects, and to determine if Natalee was under the influence (unable to protect or consent) Everything happens in its right time and it has. The comments and/or actions of one family should not be qualified by, nor should qualify....the actions or comments of another....particularly when the use is intended to purposefully to demean them

Unlike most cases of missing people, we do know who NH was with...and I think evidence of a coverup is how A.L.E. treated these suspects under the guise of 'we are not cowboys.' This was in stark contrast to the way in which the two security guards-neither of whom were ever seen with NH-were treated.
