Natalee Holloway Update

As I understand it, it's the latest news report as regards the search for Natalee Holloway's remains off Aruba. EquuSearch's Tim Miller praises the people of Aruba and states he does not support a boycott of the island. It also contains quotes from Gerold Dompig.

Update: Unconfirmed Internet sources suggest that the FBI may again be preparing to question students who were on the trip.

please don't give up on Natalee, someone needes to find this girl. how can a parent just live life knowing her and his child is out there, and no way to find her? can you imagine that being our child? I know its been 8 months, and thats even more reason to keep trying. It breaks my heart to hear they may give up. There has to be ways to find this girl,and giving up should never be the answer. If we don't support her search and look, then we gave up on a life. a childs life. this family isn't looking for sympathy they are begging for help to find Natalee, and to find what happened to her. can't we be more help to keep going forward in the search?

I notice with great interest 2 very revealing points. Beth's "management" of the funds which many have known long ago while others claimed she has no control over their usage and more importantly counter to Miller's persistence in the media claiming that Dompig has told him to search in that location for that reason. Dompig clearly states he has not invited him nor has he told him where to search.

NO, not this go round. Oduber requested the help for a search in July. This current search was not. It was an error people got after doing a google search and mixing up the two as one thing.

A special unit of Florida State University's College of Criminology and Criminal Justice has been asked to assist with search and recovery efforts in the case of missing Alabama teen Natalee Holloway. The Underwater Crime Scene Investigation (UCSI) program, based at FSU's Panama City campus, received the request for assistance from the Prime Minister Mr. Nelson Oduber of Aruba and the Texas EquuSearch Team, a non-profit organization that has been involved in the search.

The team of four experts traveling to Aruba includes Dale Nute, a forensic scientist with over 40 years of experience; Mike Zinzser, diving safety officer, director of the Advanced Science Diving Program and U.S. Navy diver (retired); Mark Feulner, underwater archaeologist and technology specialist; and Dan Walsh, Coast Guard diver (retired) and dive engineer. The team will be utilizing their side-scan sonar and a remote operated vehicle.

The Florida State University Panama City UCSI program is the only academic-based program of its kind in the United States. The team has been involved in numerous recovery efforts. In 2004, team members assisted Escambia County officials with the identification of potential vehicles and victims in Escambia Bay as the result of Hurricane Ivan and the I-10 bridge collapse. They have also assisted other law enforcement agencies with recovery of evidence and victims. In 2005, the team was involved with several murder investigations.

No Dompig is quite clear. He has not requested THIS search nor HAD he suggested it. Counter to Miller's claims since December about Dompig telling him he thinks she is dumped in a fish trap in that location.Dompig from the outset that there never has been a fish trap stolen. Also the article does not say 'the area to be searched is a confirmed place of interest according to Dompig.' It says "this is also a place of interest" Dompig confirmed. He is confirming that it is ALSO a place of interest. Not a confirmed place of interest. Just another place of interest as is everywhere on the Island and in the water around it.

No it does not. What an odd thing you persist in doing, making things up. It is says: the area...as described..."This is also a place of interest" Dompig confirmed. The reason for this is ALSO is because Dompig has not vetted it. Also means in polite terminology, Miller is drunk again and begging for money. Dompig cannot say it is not a place of interest. But he and I know it is not, because no fish traps were ever reported stolen in the first place. Miller's sales pitch has been since December that Dompig told him he thinks she is in a fish trap and dropped out there at that depth. All this is simply false. No fish trap was stolen he never told Miller anything of the sort, he has not asked for this area to be searched and he has not asked Miller to search period. Instead of saying all that he being the polite and experienced office of law, simply says the area is also a place of interest, simply to amuse you and Tim Miller where as now explained to you the sole reason for this search is pure fantasy.

Well yesterday they were searching teh dunes again they had more then 50 officers from a what they called a very credible source, then Bam all of a sudden another tips comes out of know where they stop digging at the dunes and the detectives are off to some mystery island ..I certainly wont get my hopes up on that tip, Always seems to me when they start a search something interupts them and they leave that search ...

According to Harry Tho, the ALE has gone to Barbados to meet with the FBI. This might explain why the ALE went there (they would need to discuss and go through the legalities of questioning the MB people?):

Am I the only one on here tonight that is upset about that stupid National Sheriff's Association wanting to march 3000 storm troopers onto that tiny island to look for one missing girl, when we have thousands missing in this country? I just have time for a quick post. I can't seem to get into typepad for some reason, so I am putting it here, but it really is meant for the test blog.

First of all, I really want to say thank you for all the kind sentiments.
RWV was the first blog I ever posted to, and I will not leave it, but I have been very, very busy, and I do not have time to post all the time.
I did really want to say thank you so much for the kind words, I think very highly of most of you also, there is always bound to be conflicts, and I am tough, I can take it. Much of why you haven't seen me all that much is that it is just a matter of time.

I do want to clear this up though:

b) a young american kid, that went out with his father on a waverunner, they went too far out, but only the father was found. They were staying in the Wyndham. The father was briefly detained and interrogated, but had to be set free, because of lack of evidence. the police here still thinks the parent had something to do with it, because of insurance money. Apparently, the parents (mother and steph-father) took out a hefty Insurance policy on the kid, hsortly before travelling to Aruba.

Both these cases, and the fact that the ALE has solved most of the murder cases of the past 5-6 years, shows that they do know what to do, but the ones they do solve are ussually local murders. The ones that are unsolved are the ones where foreigners are involved.(don't know if that means something, but it is clear).

This is the matter of Max de Vries which was discussed AD NAUSEUM early on in the beginning of the case. There is a lot of rumor around this story, and much of this post is incorrect. Max was not out with his father, his father had died about 14 month before. He was out with what I will assume is the mother's boyfriend. Just about the time that the Kalpoes were released for the first time, the police received a routine inquiry into the details the missing boy from the insurance company and there was a small item in the Amigoe about that. That got blown up into the guy was now in jail for murder and it was all for the insurance; then even beyond that to it was all a scam and they were hiding the boy in Brazil. I had people swear to me they saw it on CNN. Total BS.
All that happened is that the insurance company made an inquiry of the local police. end of story. much craziness insued.
