Low Rawls was a heck of a talent and always seemed to be a genuinely good human being to me. I remember him singing live on some telecast when he had a fit of coughing during the performance. He had been sick at the time, flu or something. He gutted it out and still gave a solid performance.
LOS ANGELES -- Lou Rawls, the velvet-voiced singer who started as a church choir boy and went on to sell more than 40 million albums has died, his publicist said. He won three Grammy Awards in a career that spanned nearly five decades and a range of genres. He was 72.

He was a great talent. What a loss.

My kids didn't know who Lou was. The best explaination the wife and I could come up with was "the best make out music singer ever".
