I honestly don't know what bothered me more today - these islamofascist idiots, or hearing Kennedy say that their trifling debate was the most important thing going on in the world today.
The Supreme Court is not the final repository of our system of justice. That's a myth. It is the interpreter of our Constitution. If the Dems want something to be the law of the land, they only need to get elected and write sound Constitutional Law.

To a liberal who came of age under the Warren Court, the SCOTUS is the final repository of our system of justice. Or more accurately, it is the font from which the liberal rights-based welfare state has flowed.
While Conservatives see this as the passing of an era in which the constitution was ignored in favor of outcome-based judicial activism, the Liberals are truly mourning the death of their entire worldview.
