Updated coverage on the murder convictions here.
I'm not sure why this case hasn't received the media attention you'd think it might. Debutante and college student Jennifer Ross was shot and killed during a robbery in downtown Savannah. The media seems to be taking the angle that crime in Savannah is bad and only now getting any attention because Ross was white. Frankly, that seems like a fair question in this case if you read the story at the link above.
There's also another fair question, this one to be directed at Georgia Governor Sonny Perdue. Perdue called for a boycott of Aruba in the Natalee Holloway case. Frankly, it appears as though Savannah Georgia is a far more dangerous place. If you see the chart it seems their crime numbers are off the charts compared to National averages.
Any chance he'll be calling on the convention industry to stay away? Yeah ... right.
Crime Type 2004
Savannah Violent Crimes 1105
Savannah Murders 23
Savannah Rapes 66
Savannah Robberies 656
Savannah Aggravated Assaults 360

That is flattering , TJ , that you think Beth would be proud of me. I do not personally know Beth.
NICOLE......you asked, "(Do you really think if the perpatrater is someoneelse they would willingly come foward? Heck no)".
Do you think Joran would ever tell that he is responsible for what happen to Natalee? No way. He is an admitted liar. And his story that he left her on the beach alone is very questionable. It still has not been proven how he got home. Can you guess why? Because he was not at the beach.

The local media is telling everyone that Jennifer Ross' killer(s) were "Black". Since things have died-down down here, leaks are developing to the contrary.

I live on the southside of Savannah and have lived here for many years having retired long ago. I don't venture downtown anymore as the crime rate is so horrendous. The criminal element has become brazen to the point of committing crimes during the daylight hours even in the presence of witnesses. It is very unsafe downtown even in the historic district and is becoming bad here as well. The slow police response times due to inadequate staffing and apathy from city leadership are the root causes of our tremendous crime problem. I tell my friends to avoid coming here as as many tourists have been robbed and/or killed. Mayor Johnson needs to stop justifying the criminals actions and blaming a certain segment of the population for the city's ills. His inability to unify the city in order to present a united front to tackle the various social issues was deftly illustrated when he parroted Louis Farrakhan's remarks when Farrakhan bestowed his presence upon our city trumpeting his wise pearls of wisdom (sarcasm intended). Until the day Johnson stops casting aspersians and produces substantive actions Savannah will continue to devolve into a lawless city. (where are you Rudolph Juliani...we need you).

Savannah is a joke. You can't walk down the street without being harrassed by a bunch of men or homeless people. The crime rate is 2.84 times higher than the national average.

I just have to say that this case is interesting, and i have read alot about it. I dont know who might have done what or lied about what, but it seems very American to say, dont judge Beth she is a poor American mother, but judge these 3 boys, without evdidence, because their life isnt as important.
