Along with various other crimes. Looks like a couple of rival chocolate city gangs are fighting over some new turf, perhaps. Too bad Texas can't deal with it quickly with a little frontier justice.
Investigators with the new HPD Gang Murder Squad say they've linked 11 Katrina evacuees to a string of violent crime in Houston. Eight of them are in custody but police are still searching for the other three.
Police are especially anxious to find Ivroy Harris who goes by the nickname "B-stupid."
Police say the men are suspects in at least nine Houston murders and two in Pasadena. All of the victims were also Katrina evacuees.
The 11 suspects are also wanted for at least seven other violent crimes including aggravated assaults, armed robberies and carjackings. Many of those victims were non-evacuees.

Frontier juice? Maybe you should get down here and open a can of Northern Agression! Oh, it's just South Texas, nevermind.

Round them all up and put them on the chang gang in New Orleans and have them rebuild the city. They are slime. They need to be made to pay for their crimes instead of being just put in prison with 3 meals a day and a warm place to sleep. Let them work hard labor. What is wrong with punishment to folks in this country that do all these crimes. I will never understand that anymore. Geeeezzz!

Glad it happened in Texas and not Vermont. Texas isn't afraid of ridding society of criminal lowlifes.

I have been a Houston resident for twenty years. I was proud when our city put its best foot forward to help these people as it could be any of us considering where we are located. It is just too bad that all that time spent at the Astrodome and other shelters could not have been utilized to weed these sadistic sickos out. They nhad better watch it. We have our own criminals here who probably won't tolerate this much longer and I can't say I would blame them.

I am also a Houston native....
I also was very proud of our mayor, and fellow citizens when helping the people from New Orleans out.
However, perhaps they would fit in better someplace else. Perhaps we should have another fund raiser for them, give them free tickets (one way) to any place else they want to go - as long as they do NOT come back here.
Funny thing is, we had no race problems here at all till THEY came. We are the most racially diverse population of any place I know of. So much so, that I am not really sure there even IS a dominant race. Everyone here has a "live and let live" attitude, or has the attitude that it is best to learn (and steal) the best from everyone's culture.
These new people seem to think WE need to change - I don't think so.
They either need to "fit in" or leave.
Perhaps they would like to move to Aruba. lol

Houston native here. Crime was settling down, but is up again, I hate to
say. Many many apartment and home breakins as well as murders. A man
from New Orleans, who relocated told me during a business call, that all we
have from New Orleans is a group of liars, thieves, and drug addicts, and he
said,"look out darlin, look out".
