Well, not really. It's more about rifles. But imagine Olympic shooting without reasonable access to guns. Talk about Big Brother. I'm against this sort of rigid control, except for those in the biathlon. Anyone who skis around like a madman with a gun on his or her back stopping only to see how fast they can pop off a few rounds should be locked up along with the guns. But then I never did get that sport.
British lawmakers are being urged to ease a ban on handguns so Britain's champion shooters can train for the Olympics. Competitors currently must travel to Switzerland, where their guns are kept locked in an armory at a shooting range in Zurich, the Times of London reported. The ban was imposed after the 1996 massacre of 16 children and a teacher at Dunblane Primary School in Scotland by a gun collector.

This has got to be one of the most pathetic things I have read in my entire life. Olympic shooters being watched by armed guards so they don't go whacko and kill people? They guard the guns? What...are the guns going to jump out of their safe and start shooting by themselves?
The British shooters have to go to Switzerland to practice? Bet they don't win a medal. How juvenile and pitiful a country is when it treats its citizens like 5 year olds out on recess.
There is no question about who is whacked out here, and it isn't any person who is an olympic shooter.
This idea of cradle to grave "security" promised by lying thieves in governments of the world will prove to be totally anemic and fruitless, as is almost all "government help," and oversite.
Sure wish the human race would throw off these communistic shackles and regain their self respect.
