Why did they search the house the day before?

Not come home for the funeral of his own wife and baby? If it was my family and I had nothing to hide I would say, "f-ck a media circus, this is my family." Geez. Maybe that's the difference between guilt and innocence or perhaps the difference between a mommy and a father. Dunno. Okay, bash me dads....

Am I getting this right.. The police searched the house and didn't see the bodies in the bedroom?

I would not care what any attorney said or anyone - you can bet that if anything happened to my child or souse, I would be home in a minute - this guy didn't even bother to come back and now he is considering not going to their funerals? what kind of person does that? how can he not be there? looks like he took off knowing somethign was going to happen and left his wife and baby to die or he did it himself...either way what a loser

I think they must have searched the house the day before they found the bodies because of the dinner party they were supposed to have had. Perhaps the guests had them check the house because it was odd for them not to be there when expecting guests for dinner. And, the next day another search was conducted because a missing persons report was filed (I suppose with the have-to-wait-24-hour thing).

If this guy killed his family, then he's dumber than Scott Peterson.

But yeah, he's gotta know something...

I, by no means, am saying this guy didn't do anything, but I don't necessarily think that not returning makes him callous or guilty. Turning a funeral into a media circus is something I would personally not want to be responsible for...respecting the family of the deceased. Especially if they thought I was guilty, or asked me NOT to come. We really don't know the particulars.

No signs of forced entry, blankets tucked around the victims, I think the husband did it. We had a case similar to this a few months ago in Royal Palm Beach, Florida were the husband killed his wife and son...they were having personal and financial problems.

The guy must have been depressed and obviously out of his mind. Everytime I see pictures on the news of that beautiful baby...it is just beyond tragic. The time line of him leaving for England, I think he did it before he left. Whatever reason why will never be full understood- to do such an unthinkable act. It seems alot of these deperate suicidal men shoot their wives and then run away rather than harm themselves. So very very tragic.
Real grief doesn't care about a media circus or attorneys...his NOT returning or attending the funeral speaks volumes.

I am beginning to think that they were not killed at the house. The bed did not have much blood in it. I would think that a head wound would bleed alot. The first time they went in the police said that the bed was messy. Was it messy with alot of blankets on it?

Yes, the bed looked "unmade"...and apparently no one checked the bed. I have heard they look like they were resting peacfully...maybe Rachel was drugged first. I would have a hard time believing they were killed away from the house and brought there. Apparently they were covered with alot of blankets.

I think the police need more training in searching for missing people. In the Jon Bennet case, though the police had searched the house, it was the father who eventually went and found his daughter in a basement room, and in the case of those little boys who went missing after playing in the garden, we saw a policewoman walk past the family car and look underneath, yet never had the initiative to look in the boot, which is where those poor kids were, and they suffocated to death. That goes for the cops in UK too, as I was reading recently about a mother who called the police when her daughter went missing from her home, and the police came and searched the house and never found anything, and then the mother went upstairs and found her daughter's body stuffed under the bath, easy to be found if they had bothered to look. Meanwhile, precious time is lost, when a murder is involved.

Interesting hit on a Neil and Rachel Entwistle in Hudson, Florida.

Wrong middle initial for her s/b E not L

Saw on the news that the obit does not mention Neil at all. I guess we might have an idea where her family stands. I just can't get the pic of that sweet baby out of my head. Such an adorable age. It haunts me. Just so sad.

Hi People.
I am a UK resident. I was totally gutted when I heard on the UK News about this evil, nasty crime in Boston. It has left my head baffled to the mystery crime? I am thinking a lot of thoughts what you people are writing and thinking. Reading through such a lot of comments made by various people on different sites, it is making me wonder if this man who killed his gorgeous wife and baby daughter is a Dr Jeckyl and Mr Hyde character. Nothing on this earth will bring back Rachel or her daughter. Someone out there must know something about this dispicable crime. I am sure the Authorities who are investigating this evil crime will soon have the answers to who done it. Let us all sit back and wait for the results. We can all assume but let the culprits be found or caught out for what they have done.

If my husband and child had been killed and I was in another country, I would be on the first plane back home. I would be wanting to know who killed my loved ones and I would be an emotional mess, and no doubt demanding that a thorough and ongoing investigation be taking place immediately. I would call John Walsh at America's Most Wanted and beg him for help to track down the evil and sinister perpetrators of this heinous and vicious crime...I would like to know what Neil's state of mind is at this time. The proof needed might never be found...but a person's actions speak so much louder than words, just like in the Peterson case, and in the Simpson case. NOTHING could keep me from attending the funeral(s)of my husband and child. And who could possibly have any motive at all to kill an infant who could neither recognize nor tell on the murderer? Nobody. So, the crime was personal..very personal, and in my opinion, intimately close to home. God bless Lillian Rose and Rachel - may they be resting ever-so-peacefully in the arms of our Lord.

That sack of garbage in England is very busy figuring out his lies, alibis and story line.
Unlike sack of garbage Peterson, he doesn't have anything to work on.
Please, all little creatures of the earth and universe (I am an atheist) keep your little noses and licky tongues and furry bodies next to Rachael and Lillian, always, with love.

Hi Sherlock Bones.

Please do NOT blame this dispicable CRIME what has been committed in Mass on all the BRITS. We are not siding with who has done this evil CRIME to Rachel and baby Lillian. Our hearts do go out to rachel's family and we do hope that they find the culprit who has done this to their child and grand-daughter.
If it is Neil Entwistle who has don the CRIME then obviously hatred will be shown to him across the globe and the UK. No one can say who has done it until the evidence has been investigated through te Police and the Authorities in the US.
Rest in Peace.............Rachel and baby Lillian.
Good Night God Bless to you both.

Hello there Tony.
My letter did not place blame on all Brits at all and then you go on to say "we do hope they find the culprit". Now that's funny.
I am....blaming....Neil the Brit, and you know what rhymes with that.
OJ was freed, with police, and courts, and authorities, and juries and judges, the works.
I think you are upset because I called Neil a sack of garbage.
Let's say he is totally innocent. He would talk to someone, or at least make a telephone call. Looks like a duck, walks like a duck, quacks like a duck.......its a.......d........hello!!!!!!!!!

Hi Sherlock.

I do apologies about reading your text wrongly. I can agree with you on the last part of your last text about him being totally innocent, he would at least talk to someone about it. And most of all he would be there at his wife's and child funeral.
There is a lot of pieces missing from the puzzle. I was talking to someone in the UK and they said that a mafia was after the family for what Neil Entwistle did with his scams on the internet.

No prob. Tony.
I think, if there is one, the mafia would be highly insulted about that rumor.
Scams on the internet? I think there would be a lot of people dead lying around if victims of scams took revenge this way. I would have to kill 4 people myself, and it sure would cost me a lot of gas.
He was out slummin' Thursday night, showing off his English accent to the local babes.
(Where are the people who saw him that night). Came home. Probably on something !! Was confronted by the boss.
Lost it! And, this deranged individual (who had to have some history of nuts) took their lives. He had the presence of mind to lock up the house so that it would take longer to find them. That, my friend, is premeditated. I hope they drag him through the streets, tied to the bumper of his BMW before they nuke him.

Hi All

Why did he not attend the mass and the funeral? Why did he not send a wreath for his wife and daughters funeral? Why did he leave his home in the UK the day before the funeral? There are too many pieces missing to the puzzle. Why is he guilty of not wanting to give a statement to the Media and television? We all have our doubts to who has done this CRIME. It is starting to stand out a mile.

Too bad the police screwed up and didn't find the bodies right away. Too bad Neil was able to leave the country. He knows (as do his attorneys) that they'll arrest his sorry a#@ should he dare come back to the USA. Person of interest my foot! I hope Rachel and Lillian died quickly and didn't suffer. To shoot a baby and in the abdomen, words can't describe my anger and sorrow for them! As a Nurse, I am sure the baby didn't die instantly. Whoever did this is a beast and a coward (Neil Entwistle) not to mention a total scumbag. One more thing, too bad Massachusetts and Great Britain won't activate the death penalty for this one particular killer! Someone should shoot their killer in the belly and let him lay there and bleed to death internally!

kelly3.....I think they were killed at the house. I also speculate that, during spitting argument, he shot at Rachael first. It hit the baby. (I can't imagine intentionally shooting to fatally injure a baby). She's screaming, "you killed the baby", he, feeling that someone had just ripped his skin off, then, in freezing panic, just killed her as she was leaning over sweet Lily. Whoever is in charge, have mercy on them all.

Lillian Rose and Rachel rest in peace eternally with your lord and savior. May he keep you safe from all evil creatures such as your husband/father. I get the gut feeling that Neil is very guilty. Yes, it is his own actions that make him look so very guilty. Just loosing a very close loved one myself...I will keep also in my prayers those close to Lillian and Rose who have to live with this horrible tragic event replaying in their mind. Hopefully they are able to find peace and comfort as long as the road ahead may be.

Let's not lose our heads here. In America you are innocent until proven guilty. I'm glad to see the police handling this carefully for a change. If Neil really did this, I'm confident that he will be found guilty.

I'm always depressed how quickly people and the media are willing to jump to conclusions in these sorts of cases. They have nearly zero information to base their opinions on. What a bunch of armchair quarterbacks.

I totally agree with Ich Bin on this. You people have no idea what's going on, the reason(s) why did not attend the funeral, the fact that he is not a suspect or what leads the police have.
You all really need to get out more...

The news for the killing was too bad...I am young boy from Bedford town, I think our world shouldn't look this way people should think again twice why do we need to kill each other.
God has sent us to multiply but that is not the case anymore.

I condamn the killings and the Evil who allows them in Jesus 's name.

I have just read that Rachael's step father is being investigated as he has a gun collection and one of the guns in that collection is of the same make and calibre as the suspected murder weapon. This story has some strange twists

Look closely here, the police have said that Mr Entwistle is a "possible witness" not a suspect. That means that if he saw the killing he may be in protective custody (or forced to leave the country) for his own protection. That seems obvious to me. Perhaps it is a less newsworthy reason, but come on, think about this before taking a scattershot approach to the important question of someones guilt or innocence. Regarding the lack of blood at the crime scene; a 22 calibre bullet is very small, and would leave a small wound. Hence the initital confusion about the cause of death. The bodies being covered by blankets would indicate to me a misguided attempt to "comfort" the bodies, rather than conceal them. Perhaps indicating instantaneous remorse. True, this would indicate, if it is an accurate surmise; that the killer was close to the deceased. But it does not mean that Mr Entwistle was the killer. I think everyone should respect meaning of the expression "innocent until proven guilty"

Ich Bin...and....IchAuch,
Don't be silly. This is not a football game.
We don't have any power, but we can have opinions, and you can have yours, but don't chastise us for ours. The Ich thing, you must be relatives or spouses or something.
Two innocent people are dead, our discussion is not about a touchdown controversy.
You two idiots are right about one thing "he is not a suspect".... he is a murderous killer.
Sorry about your depression Ich Bin, and that you don't get out much IchAuch
I hope you don't live anywhere near me, I would be worried about you two.
Have you ever cuddled your own 9-month old child, you morons.

hillary...please post where you read that the Boston DA/Police are INVESTIGATING Rachaels stepfather? He does have a collection but where did you read that one of the guns he has is the same make/calibre as the one that killed Rachel and Lillian????? I have not read that it was CONFIRMED it was "any" make or calibre! JUST SMALL CALIBRE. PLEASE POST. (p.s. a stolen gun report has not been filed from Rachels stepfather...hmmm....maybe the DA wants to keep that quiet?).

Thank you sherlock for the above. These dopes have been duped by cindy.

Listen Sherlock Bones, it’s because of people like you that I try to remain anonymous ("Ich Bin" in German simply means "I am," nothing more nefarious than that).

Sherlock, I'm not a relative of either party here, just a simple bystander with an opinion. You really should change your name if you are so quick to jump to wrong conclusions with such flimsy evidence. I’m glad you have opinions and that you are willing to express them. It’s funny that you feel I chastised you for your opinion and the way you handle it is to chastise me for my opinion. I’m not offended or angry by your response and I welcome your chastisement and opinions.

I too have children and I do cuddle them, play with them and LISTEN to them. I welcome their questions and in fact tell them to question everyone and everything, even me, my spouse, their teachers, our church and our government. I’m thankful to live in a country that was based on this principle.

I definitely don’t want this country to continue down this horrible path of instant vigilante justice by uninformed, misguided and disconnected citizens (and so it appears some politicians). To what end does that serve? Hmmm, let’s think here for a moment…. Let’s just imagine for a moment that Neil Entwistle didn’t kill his wife and daughter, but because the police and politicians, partly egged on my “concerned” citizens and media, get too wrapped up with assuming Neil did it and spend an inordinate amount of time focusing on him. Where’s the actual killer? He/she is just walking free. Sherlock, it almost sounds like if you were able to get near Neil with a mob of people just like you, your mob could be incited to severely injury or perhaps even kill him. Smart move Sherlock. The actual killer might even be in that mob of yours, helping to kill the innocent. You will be happy that instant “justice” was done and go about your business, living in your delusional world where the actual killer goes out and perhaps kills again.

I’m not saying that Neil could or could not have done this horrific act. I don’t know him, his circumstance, his town, his family, nothing. I just PERHAPS know a little snippet of his life filtered by the sensational media and clouded by opinions like yours.

Kinda long winded "I am".
You were the first chastiser (sic).
My fondest wish is that they come after you.
I don't remember throwing eggs at the police or politicians.
What is a "snippet" ?? !!
Please don't make me change my name, I am "sherlock bones".
Give me a case and I will solve it.
You ask a question "Where is the actual killer".
I just happen to know the answer to that! He is in England !!!!!!!
And last, but not least, I would not need an accompanying mob of (as you so nicely put it)
"incited to severely injure", all I would need is me.
Why don't you idiots chill....oh.oh.oh.oh.oh.oh

melanie.......just saw your post. :) Thanks.
You know melanie, it makes me wonder. Don't people remember OJ and Peterson and the one in Boston, Chuck, who killed his pregnant wife. If this one don't point straight to that deranaged killer of a husband in England, then I will have to change my name.

Sherlock, you are a know it all; except you don't seem to know your vocabulary. "Give me a case and I will solve it" Yeah right. Something tells me you work in catering or retail.

Sherlock,
Thanks for clearing it all up. Your power of observation and jumping to conclusions makes any need to find the underlying cause of this case mute. Neil is guilty since his case is so obviously similar to Peterson et al. What was I thinking? Skip being a criminal investigator and just jump to being a judge. With your keen sense of justice and amazing insight, you could clear the years of backlogged cases in our courts in a matter of a few weeks or perhaps even a couple of days. I easily see the Supreme Court in your future. Heck, I could even see you as President. You and Bush appear to have a lot in common and you could make being President look as easy as Bush does. Sherlock for Prez!!

Cindy,
Thanks for help Sherlock with his vocabulary malfunction.

I don't think the wonderful people in catering and retailing are going to take kindly to your brainless "put-down". Now, that snippet thing. A person with any shred of intelligence would not have answered that question. Thanks for the compliment...I actually do know it all. Actually Cindy, I am a judge. Rest peacefully, I am in charge. I don't think you should accuse "Mr. Entwistle" of the murders, he was in England with his wife. I never would have known a 22 calibre bullet was small.
You cinderella and the itch brothers, should go and jump into the middle of Lake Stupid. Your gramma, Cindy, is atrocious. "Hence" should not begin that sentence and your semi-colon was horrific. The fact that you call that piece of scum "Mr", gives me a graphic sick picture of you. AhhhhhAhhhhhhAhhhhhhHelp,Help, another moron for the defense. Tell that to Rachaels mother and Lillian's grammy, you half-wit.
I will not be writing again, as you are not worthy of any more of my superior intelligence, I have to don (not don juan)
my robe and hustle back to the bench. Hi! Ho!
Judge'o.

Well hey, you're leaving? That worked a treat. My gramma is atrocious? Actually she is rather a sweet old lady.
I do not believe for one minute that you are a judge. I can barely believe that you have any kind of job after that last petty and childish outburst.

Bye now.

"Tell that to Rachaels mother and Lillian's grammy, you half-wit."
Golly aren't you impartial "Judge" Bones?

Hi All.

I am in the UK and have just heard on the news that Neil Entwistle has returned back to his parents house. No one knows where he went on Tuesday afternoon. They would not speak to the press or media. They refused to answer any questions, that is his mom and dad and Neil Entwistle.

i think he killed them..

Every time I see a post on a murder case,..there are always bitter fights between the people posting their comments.

This is not the time or the place to do that!

Two souls were murdered, and family, friends and the whole world has been affected!

As for all the "KNOW IT ALLS",..only GOD knows it ALL,..so why is everyone pressing so hard to be right about what really happened.??

This is the time to comfort and to heal,...and the time for anyone who knows anything about any crime to come or go forward and tell the proper authorities.

Way too many crimes have witnesses that never come forward,..sometimes they do too late.

PLEASE,...

No more fighting on this forum,..no more name calling and insulting one another.!!!

Gosh,..are you people adults??...or children posting here???

Condolences to the family and friends of the mother and child,..and may they rest in peace.

God bless and protect us all.!!
