Yes, that is the literal interpretation of this piece from CBS on Hillary's plantation remark. And there are a couple of other items worth noting in the article, as well.
There were tough questions to politicians who feel they must attend the event as much to pay homage to Sharpton as to celebrate Dr. King's legacy.
Sen. Hillary Clinton, who had launched into an impassioned attack on the Bush administration.
But Hillary didn't get any tough questions. Contrast the questions CBS reported.
So Nassau county executive Tom Suozzi had his name mangled. Then he was called on the carpet. Charged Bertha Lewis of the ACORN housing group: “Nassau County is the third most segregated county in this country and you sir are the county executive.”
And for Spitzer, a real tough question under the circumstances.
He was asked to support the reinstatement of Tawana Brawley lawyer Alton Maddox's law license. (and) “There are at least 12 political prisoners in New York State who were members of the black liberation army and the black party for 30 years. . .Are you open to reviewing their cases?"
And for Hillary:
Clinton actually got an easy question. “I need you to tell us what distinguishes Democrats from Republicans right now,” she was asked.
Now it doesn't take a professional softball player to hit that one out of the park. But not so for a Hillary Clinton lacking the political judgment of husband Bill. She used it to launch her plantation remarks and capture the headline.
Some pundits may ultimately prove right. The biggest enemy of Hillary Clinton in any potential '08 Presidential race may prove to be Hillary Clinton, herself.

Oink, oink!!! She, Hillary, has done it again. Dr. King would be horrified to see the state of the negroe population in the US today. This is not what he wanted. We are supposed to lift ourselves from the doldrums of poverty and lack of education with some initial help from our government. Fine, a few bucks to help educate our people through one generation, not perpuate the misuse of funds to create chaotic, disorderly, unstable communities full of crime and ignorant thugs. "The great Society" did not work. More government will not prove anyting positive. It has to be done from within. That fat pig, Hillary Clinton, should not be in the political arena. She will say and do anything to get your vote. Throw in Kennedy and Kerry as well. Anyone ever hear of The Owl Club?

Ever notice how most politicians don't give race a second thought -- unless it might further their career?
Expect a "Chocolate City" speech from Teddy boy, soon.

Hillary knows full well about Plantation life. After all, her MASTER spent a good bit of time in the slave quarters with young slave girls.

I think everyone with even a segment of grey matter in the head is in agreement about Hillary Clinton...but with our wonderful new voting machines...guess who will be the next president?

If Hillary ever becomes president oh what fun we'll have tearing her down. Tit for Tat. Dish it out ya gotta take it. Let's start now so she never gets momentum. Did the FBI pictures of her trist?

Republican pundits, anyway, but what would a conservative blog be without offensive remarks like "Hillary knows full well about Plantation life. After all, her MASTER spent a good bit of time in the slave quarters with young slave girls."
How her comments were taken by those who were -there-:
"Some House Republicans took immediate offense at Senator Clinton's choice of words."
"Her remarks were met with thunderous applause by a mostly black audience at the Canaan Baptist Church of Christ in Harlem."

The trouble with most politicians is they have shat in high cotton all their lives and look like fools when they try to bring it on down to soulville just to get votes. What do they know of life's cold and lonely offices? And worse are we if we let them get away with it by garnering our vote.

That ain't all Al Sharpton is. But he doesn't know what he is.

Hillary Clinton was on Wal-Mart's board of directors
WARD HARKAVY, VILLAGE VOICE, 2000 - Twice in three days last week, Hillary
Rodham Clinton basked in the adulation of cheering union members. Her
record
of supporting collective bargaining, however, is considerably worse than
wobbly. Pity the thousands of unionists at last Tuesday's state Democratic
convention who chanted her name, and the hundreds of retired Teamsters at
Thursday's luncheon in midtown who had interrupted their Founder's Day meal
to hear the corporate litigator turned union-loving Democrat deliver a
campaign speech.
They would have dropped their forks if they had heard that Hillary served
for six years on the board of the dreaded Wal-Mart, a union-busting
behemoth. If they had learned the details of her friendship with Wal-Mart,
they might have lost their lunches. . . In 1986, when Hillary was first
lady
of Arkansas, she was put on the board of Wal-Mart. Officials at the time
said she wasn't filling a vacancy. In May 1992, as Hubby's presidential
campaign heated up, she resigned from the board of Wal-Mart. Company
officials said at the time that they weren't going to fill her vacancy.
So what the hell was she doing on the Wal-Mart board? According to press
accounts at the time, she was a show horse at the company's annual meetings
when founder Sam Walton bused in cheering throngs to celebrate his
non-union
empire, which is headquartered in Arkansas, one of the country's poorest
states. According to published reports, she was placed in charge of the
company's "green" program to protect the environment. But nobody got
greener
than Sam Walton and his family. For several years in the '80s, he was
judged
the richest man in America by Forbes magazine. . .
Was Hillary the voice of conscience on the board for American and foreign
workers? Contemporary accounts make no mention of that. They do describe
her
as a "corporate litigator" in those days, and they mention, speaking of
environmental matters, that she also served on the board of Lafarge, a
company that, according to a press account, once burned hazardous fuels to
run its cement plants. . .
The Clintons depended on Wal-Mart's largesse not only for Hillary's regular
payments as a board member but for travel expenses on Wal-Mart planes and
for heavy campaign contributions to Bill's campaigns there and nationally.
.
.
Meanwhile, Wal-Mart's first lady, who also benefited from Wal-Mart stock,
solicits support from union workers. Which makes her words to the elderly
Teamsters last week especially poignant: "You can count on me to stand up
for the right to collectively bargain!" Right on, sister!
