PAPER: Sen. Kennedy was member of all-male club
Wed Jan 11 2006 22:40:10 ET

Conservative activists aree eager to point out that Sen Ted Kennedy was on shaky ground accusing the Judge Alito of associating with people opposed to the inclusion of women in private institutions, the WASHINGTON TIMES is fronting on Thursday.

The eight-term senator belonged to an all-male social club -- the Owl -- at Harvard University. The Owl refused to admit women until it was forced to do so during the 1980s, according to records kept by the HARVARD CRIMSON, the student newspaper.

A Kennedy spokeswoman said it was an entirely different matter.

"No one can question Senator Kennedy's commitment to equality, justice and civil rights," said Laura Capps. "What he was part of was a social club, not a radical group pushing a radical agenda."

Anyway, she said, even though women were admitted to the university during Mr. Kennedy's tenure, they weren't fully integrated to the campus until much later.

Developing...

The fact remains that Alito's biggest critics are themselves tainted.

If college associations are relevant, why is Teddy Kennedy in the senate? He was booted out of Harvard for cheating- the beginning of a long list of, shall we say, errors.

Joe Biden was first busted for plagarism in Law School. He was caught again, while campaigning for the Oval Office.

Chuckles Schumer staffers were busted for illegally obtaining the credit report of a Maryland Republican senatorial candidate. The staffers posed as the candidate and used his social security number. The staffers were fired only after the crimes were made public.

Robert 'KKK Kleagle'Byrd will no doubt pipe in next.

These are the Alito critics.

Great posts! The DemoRATS are giving us great TV. Saturday Night Live couldn't have come up with better clowns and script than what the Demwits have given us. Its to bad for America that these clowns are our elected officials and its real and it couldn't be a Saturday Night live skit.

Radicals at Princeton? What a laugh. I dont think so. There are NO radicals at Princeton. I have been to Princeton and I didnt see any radicals. All I saw was the ESTABLISHMENT.

I remember during the Thomas confirmation a witness was called....."Long Dong Silver"

I just love Washington! It's okay for me to look in your underwear drawer but it is not okay for you to look in mine! What a great mentality! What was so hysterical about those papers that Kennedy demanded the chairman subpoena was that the NY slimes, in November, had already gone over the issue with their usual "fine tooth comb for replublicans and conservatives. They came away disappointed. What happened don't the Kennedy staffers read the NY papers? They should put a clause in the law: "When your senator becomes an embarassment you may recall him." Believe me, pressing an issue that is ludicrous make you look like an ass. Worse yet, the constituency may begin to think you are a total idiot. Several of those Senators deserve to be run out of town after their performance!

Under Clinton, NY Times called surveillance "a necessity"

Swimmer Ted should wear dark pants if he is going to wet himself. Someone give him a pacifier.
