I used to be a fan of yours Dan, but no more. I'd love to see you 'get

Now, here's a final tip for you before you depart - drop a line to Greta, Phil or Geraldo and see if some 23 year old intern who handles their email will give you a fraction of the time and personal consideration I have. Then, when or if you ever do come back ... get the stars out of your eyes, they're ruining your vision. And if all that can't work for you? Well, then, kiss my ass.

Yes, Dan, I do find it sad, very sad. It is expecially disconcerting that the e mail writer isn't aware that all you have done from day 1 is advocate for "Natalee". In fact, I would submit to that person that your blog and a few others, but mostly your blog. has never strayed from trying to find out what happened to poor "Natalee", no matter where that road has and will lead. You know, in the face of all the chaos and minipulation someone had to stand up and call a spad a spade. Thank you for doing that.

Your right Dan, Natalee's name has ONLY been mentioned in each opening "segment" of each infotainment show. Not even BETH says her name, very often! Its usually Joran, Deepak and Satish..or the 3 men that gang raped her daughter.

Now the names of people such as Dr Phil, and Jamie Skeeters...are being repeated, more so in the last few days, then Natalee's name has been mentioned for 6 months!

How did this case become ABOUT Dr Phil or Jamie Skeeters and some "tapes" that seem to reproduce more each day? First there was one copy and one original...now we have "originals" being played over the airwaves. Dan Abrams crew went to Jamie Skeeters office today and made a copy off the hard-drive? How so? I thought the hard-drive was in the hands of the FBI, since Nov 21st?

This isn't the Natalee Holloway story anymore, in the media. It's nothing short of a REALITY TV/Soap Opera show, being brought to you in 15 minute increments each night on each show, starring Beth Twitty... It's about EACH cable show trying to one up each other, with the biggest "scoop" of the day. They do these little "teasers" to get you all sucked in, then it turns out to be the same BS, as it has been for the last 6 months, that will be for the NEXT 6 weeks, months, possibly a year (thats if the ratings hold out).
Or until another "case" catches their eye, to repeat ad nauseum.

Greta's ratings when this "story" was going during the summer were well over the 2 million mark. Today her ratings are nearer to 1 million.

That tells me that alot of the public is now being turned off, and they are tuning out.

You've shown respect to Natalee's parents, including endorsing their trust funds, and if anything, you were one of the first to advocate the H/T cause, and have always been kind to them.

Questioning the way the media has handled the flow of one-sided information, and the obstruction of justice emanating from the Mountain Brook contingency, is not showing disrespect to Natalee or her family. Never have you not shown sympathy for this tragedy. You have exercised responsible journalism, unlike those who call themselves real journalists, but, who have disgraced their own principles by showing partiality to rumor and hyperbole.

Natalee's family is to be pitied for the horror they have endured, and I admire their continuing fight. That doesn't mean I agree with their rhetoric, or baseless accusations, even if they have a right to feel whatever they want. It is up to the disgraced talking heads to weigh in all sides of the controversy, without creating a situation which imflames the emotions of the public, without any hard facts.

This boycott, and most recently, the fiasco with the Jaime Skeeters/Dr. Phil fraud, emexplifies how out of control this case has become, and I don't blame Natalee's parents, as much as their handlers, and the shows which have used their own tragedy as a way to generate ratings.

Shame on all the shows who demonstrated little objectivity or ethics. But, my praise goes to Dan Riehl, who is truly a voice of reason, compassion, and for me, Dan exemplifies what a good journalist should always be, objective, fair-minded, and honest.

Dan Riehl is one of the few pundits and journalists who has earned my deepest respect. Thank you Dan.

I thought your response to Sincerely was very moderated. I would have been consideraly harder on them. They seem to think they can call you any name they want and attribute all sorts of bad behavior to you, all the while taking the high road to "I'm the caring person here". For those of us who have been watching the charade out of Aruba, it is time for the winning team to gloat. Like a fixed sporting event, it will be a hollow victory for the players who succeeded in making an innocent girl disappear off the face of the earth. But, I have the feeling they don't care. Their precious island will once again be a fun lover's paradise and there is nothing Americans or any outsiders can do about it, thank you very much.

This was never a responsible piece of detective work by the Aruban authorities it was a professional cover up. Contrary to people screaming, "They BOTCHED the investigation," the facts now show that it was not a mistake at all. This was handled beautifully by a team of people answering to the Dutch government. Once the name, "Van der Sloot" was mentioned, it was all over for Natalee. She never had a chance. It was too bad her last name wasn't Van der Hollow, she might have gotten a fairer hearing.

The boys were originally picked up, remember? They were questioned, told their cock and bull story and RELEASED! A girl goes missing, they were the last three to officially see her (by their own admission) and the cops are falling all over themselves to give them cookies and hot cocoa and usher them out of the station so they can go arrest the REAL kidnappers. This is a little like the LAPD buying OJ's story and chartering a jet to Columbia to pick up the drug smugglers! This isn't stupidity. It is BEYOND stupidity. Or maybe it is a systematic approach to protecting Aruba, the Dutch government's interests and the Van der Sloot family. This is not an unintelligent series of moves here; this is very calculated. Let's move on to the next step...

They arrest two security guards SOLELY on the testimony of Joran Van der Sloot. (forget the Kalpoe brothers, they had no influence here) The detention of two innocent men by hearsay was preposterous. Do you realize that whoever Dutch boy fingered was going to be arrested? What if he had said, "It was the manager of the Holiday Inn!" or, "The last time I saw her was when she stumbled on some rocks near the lighthouse, fell in the water and got eaten by a SEA LION!" Oh, okay. Whatever you say, Joran, we will buy. Just make it sound somewhat plausible. If not, change your story enough for us to market it to a judge. Good boy.

So, for ten DAYS, the three boys are free to do whatever they want...wash their car, destroy their clothing, get their stories straight...while the authorites question two guys whose entire vocabulary during the interrogation consisted of, "Huh?" Finally, when it was safe to re-arrest Joran Van der Sloot, they went to him and said, "We need to go to Plan B. The girl's mom is in town making a lot of noise and she thinks YOU did it. So, let's go through the motions of bringing you to justice, young man! I believe this was followed by a wink. I also believe that Joran winked back.

What justice?

No body, no case. No crime scene. No evidence. No admission of guilt. No confession. No witnesses. No Natalee Holloway. No chance.

Bad investigating or shrewd manipulation?

The charade that was set up by the investigators was now being played out in the media and on the island. Search teams, dogs, landfills, empty barrels, fisherman's huts, a disk jockey from a BOAT!, a shark feeding area, caves, a pond drainage, a missing shoe, a belt, duct tape with blonde hair, panties and a condom, bulldozers, F-16's, private detectives, eyewitnesses to...what?, changing stories, more lies, date rape drugs, fake taxi cab....and, of course, Greta. And, Sean, Joe, Rita, Geraldo, Bill, (but NOT Bob!) and Larry. A summer of pomp and circumstance. A relentless mother and a gentle father. But, most significantly, a country fighting for its economic survival and another country who is not real fond of our country. Who will win this Super Bowl of Mystery? The game was over before it began. As Deep Throat said in the movie, "Follow the MONEY." There was no way that anyone was going to get convicted here. A murder in paradise? Do you know what that would do to tourism? 70% of those tourists are from the United States. One missing person against millions in yearly revenue. Slam dunk. They made the girl go away and they made everything about how they accomplished that go away, too.

Joran will soon be back in his mommy's arms while she strokes his shaved, fuzzy head and coos, "I know you were my little angel all along. You are an honor student. You don't drink and gamble. You don't try to assault girls in any way. You don't have a temper. You are my perfect little Hans Brinker." The failed judge poppa nodding mutely as he watches the warm family exchange with that little smirk of his.

No body, no truth.

Aruba wants to get back to partying. The Dutch government wants to get back at Americans. The investigation team wants to get back to their donuts and coffee. The owners of Carlos and Charlie's want to get back to their profits. This is justice...Caribbean-style. If you don't like it, lump it. Go on a cruise to Alaska. Hang out in Paris. Italy is stunning in the summer time. But, if you want Aruba, Jamaica and Kokomo, travel in large packs or make sure your last name is Dutch. Because if you disappear, there are hundreds of security guards waiting to be exploited until your disappearance is finalized. That is justice in the beautiful paradise island they call Aruba.

Believe it.

I've emailed Pat Hurley (from Useless Knowledge) twice to point how how his facts were wrong. In this case, the two security guards had a history of exploiting young, blond tourists and were seen hanging around the MB group. They had already been suspected of stealing from them. While he was nice enough to respond to me, his response was in general - Too bad, it's my article and I'll write whatever I want, true or not." That's when I realized that his knowledge was indeed useless....

It is commendable that some of you want to hear the truth and the facts surrounding Natalee's case. That is exactly what her family wants also. I read constantly how some of you are focused on her words, actions.. Television appearances, I have heard her looks be discussed as well as Natalee's and a host of other things that to me are rude, useless...and do not move anyone any closer to closure. And they are 'not' fun to read. They do not edify me, skip them....well you don't know to skip it, till your half way through it....lol
May I make a suggestion ? As I have written before, Beth and other parents (families) of the lost or missing, and abducted, have a completely different mind about them... Keep in mind that there is no way to practice ahead of time on how a person should conduct themselves. Nor should a person have to say....am I appearing as I should.....that is NOT where their minds are. These families are grieving for Christ's sake. You have no idea what they are experiencing.....if you truly care you might try visiting the victims of murdered children: families, web site, or better yet visit a "meeting in person". There you will find a variety of families. They will tell you that they experienced a feeling like none other in the moment....days, weeks, months, and years to follow their tragedies. There is no closure... They go through, the uttermost grief (wanting to die themselves), anger...(frustration, venting....sobbing, accusatory, bewilderment and blaming....to name a few), and hopefully into acceptance. Each person has there own way of dying inside, and most will surface again, but each has a different length of each emotion and each person reacts, or acts differently. It is up to the listener to realize the frame of mind the family is in....and not be so harsh. Some never reach acceptance. It is a hole, never to be filled....ever.
For some of you, to focus in on Beth while she is going through a very 'normal' set of emotions, is beyond belief to me. I could not ever.... stand by a person who is going through what she (and her family) is going through, and ridicule her emotions. Now, perhaps this frame of mind is special for some of us. But I do believe God gave each of you a measure of Empathy. People that are hurting.....physically, or mentally.....usually make a noise. It may be unpleasant to you, and you may want to label it, and that is your right I guess.... but, I assure you.....she is normal. If you would like to visit a meeting I encourage you to go....each has their own story of what happened, you will find most have or are in the exact frame of mind. (Disbelief: denial, Anger and Acceptance.)

Brook students tell the truth, when the cousins and close friends and boyfriends of Natalee tell of her personal conversations, or even when her former teachers tell their concerns about her, then and only then will we begin to see the main pieces of the puzzle that are preventing this story from ever coming to a conclusion.

No,Beth is not concerned about the idea that "....and no one would ever know."
She is concerned that people Will Know.

That is why the circus came to town. So that people would be entertained by it, and keep their eyes off the real goal.

But, she did not fool Dan. And the day will come when he has the whole story. Only then will the rest of you leave him alone.

Tired of the same old rhetoric, well maybe we should go out on another hypothetical limb. A different slant and theory. .

Imagine this scenario, the three boys went to the beach with Natalee like one of their stories indicates, they sit on the beach where Joran takes off his sneakers (the missing ones), they start to make out, the Kalpoes are either nearby or home or waiting. Suddenly, some group of criminals with maybe a connection to drugs or underground or sex trade come by. They see the two together and start to harass them. Joran being an Islander is familiar with these people and realizes the danger. They tell Joran to get lost as they keep Natalee with them, maybe they rough him up a little. Joran takes off in fear leaving his sneakers behind, he runs to the car of the Kalpoes, or calls them to meet him somewhere perhaps by the racquetball club where they were seen by an eyewitness. The three are terrified wondering what might happen to her but are too afraid to talk. They go home not knowing what her fate will be. The next day they go about their usual routine and than discover the news that American girl is missing. They get together with Dad and discuss what happened, they decide to make up story that they dropped her off at the hotel, implicating the guards as a subterfuge. It works until for the guards are released for lack of evidence. Some time passes and the police realize they have to question the boys again bringing them into custody, to appease the public and parents. They realize who the father of Joran is and are kind of torn towards protecting one of their own, so they kind of back off a little in their efforts. No one is willing to report the true story because they are all intimidated by these people. So they figure “no body will mean no crime”. They are all actually hoping no body will be discovered, and in time they can release the boys for lack of evidence. In the mean time Joran makes up different stories to distract the media or just create a wild goose chase. But the unexpected media coverage and persistence of Natalee’s family start to take on a life of it’s own. Now the police are in a quandary, the officials become defensive and withdrawn and allegations begin to fly. To wit our current status.

Looks like Greta,Beth and ole Skeeters are backpedaling from the secret information that Beth stated months ago that would break this case wide open. I wonder what Beth will try next since everything else she has tried to do including the tape and boycott efforts have turned to crap in her hands!

Beth is still bound and determined to hang Joran and both Kalpoe brothers regardless if they are guilty or not.
