Nope, that won't work either. You could hire the hottest babes and hunks on the planet, you could pass out $100 bills, and that wouldn't work. People aren't stupid, you know. They take one look at Foggy Bottom and say to themselves, "If I start following that crowd closely, there goes my Sunday evenings and any other free time to breathe."

Pundita: Some of us have never heard the name "Foggy Bottom" used before and equate the language as insider info. (Or that it's beyond the average joe blow's grasp) You're absolutely right on target about the time thing as far as I'm concerned, too. Where to begin is as daunting as unraveling the issues. It's hard to start a poly-sci degree with a graduate level course, and the complexity of the issues is pretty overwhelming....

But the unique quality of the blogosphere and internet news is that the info is out there somewhere, not in a library or bookstore which requires both effort and prior knowledge of what you're actually looking for. IMO The "liberal press" has been rather restrained in it's coverage of the "effort" in Iraq; the more critical essays have been published in the op-ed sections. Until recently, but that's another subject.....

I appreciate the effort you've put into presenting very intriguing info for the masses like me, who are interested but not insiders and still concerned about the future of this country. That is, interested to read 'useful info' not the tripe spinned by the gov. ministries of disinformation. And I can do so from the cozy comfort of my home sipping hot chocolate while I freak out. But I do trust your voice, even if I am dismayed by the message.

Time to put down the lantern and breathe again? Stoke up the fireplace and smell the snow. It's a beautiful day somewhere in the world. Thanks again.
