This post is for readers who understand typeKEY to help others having problems. I would suggest people also use typekey's FAQ's and email help function as they will be most familiar with the different browser settings which can impact the service.
Hopefully some will use the comments area to help others.

Dan, I was on OT and others are having the same problem as I am. I have signed up with TypeKey and I show as signed in, but there is not a comment box on 325 for me to post, even after refreshing. Is this something I would need support from TypeKey or from you? TIA

Are any of you having as big a problem as I am about signing in to post? Also, I don't see the Natalee Holloway discussion 325 when I click on Holloway chat. Any suggestions

Phltx: Dan has not put up a link for 325, but there is a link for it in 324.

Phltx: Also, once you sign up for typekey you are supposed to be able to post. You should not have to sign in but just refresh the page, however it is not working for some of us as I am not getting a comment box to post. Not sure what the problem is and no one has come over here yet with suggestions.

plhtx and dale - you are signed into typekey right now. I can tell from looking at the application.
The NH chat is the first post here - click comments

Hopefully some will help others work out typekey issues here.

Could be internet security settings too high - also when you sign into typekey - click yes if a grey security box pops up to send info to the site - that tells it you are registered.

Dan, thanks, but I have tried and it isn't working for me. All I see at the bottom is "sign in" , but no comment box? Even after refreshing the page.

I was having the exact same problem, but finally solved it:
1) Open up Internet Explorer (even if you use another browser, it should still be on your Computer)
2) Go to TOOLS>Internet Options
3)Click on "PRIVACY" tab
4) there should be a sliding bar that sets your cookie acceptance level -- Manually move it down to the lowest or second lowest level
*** An alternate method is to leave your "cookie acceptance level" the same. Instead click on the "edit" button. You can then manage individual sites. For instance, I typed in to allow cookies at http://www.riehlworld.com, http://typekey.com, http://www.typepad.com, and http://sixapart.com
This worked for me even though I have never had to do that at any other site that required cookies.
Also, it might help to go to the Typekey website and manually log off. Then go back to 325 and hit "sign-in". This should start you over. After you do that, you may need to hit refresh several times before your posting box appears.
Hope that helps!

I've done the same thing. Changed the security to low and click yes in the gray box. No comment box comes up to post in when I click on sign in. I keep refreshing page to no avail. Thanks Dan

plhtx, what browser do you use? If you are on Firefox or Opera, maybe there is another way to set your security level. I don't use them anymore -- so maybe someone here can help if that is the case.

Remember, if you are registered and logged in correctly at Typekey -- you will NOT need any info here at THIS post such as name and e-mail address. Chat 325 will not have name or e-mail address as even an option -- it will remember your info automatically.

ok, I manually added all the websites and that seems to have worked for the time being. I didn't have the sixapart.com site in there. Thanks for the help!

One of the things that prevented my seeing the comments box was the COOKIE FACTOR. A kind person suggested to: go to TOOLS, click on INTERNET OPTIONS, click on PRIVACY, and lower the bar to the bottom to ACCEPT ALL COOKIES.
So--
TOOLS
INTERNET OPTIONS
PRIVACY
ACCEPT ALL COOKIES
Thanks to the one who posted the info.

Man, this is a pain in the butt!! I changed my privacy settings...didn't help. I have refreshed a zillion times...didn't help. I logged out of typekey and back in on the thread...didn't help. I cannot sign in at all. It wont even give me a box to sign into. When I click on sign in, I go to the top of the thread. Any advice?

Thanks Slogger. The cookie thing worked for me.
It's strange because I'm a reg TypeKey user on another blog and never had a problem there.
I've messed with this off and on since last night.
Was getting frustruated.
Thanks again.

Fiery, you are apparently not registered correctly at Typekey because you still have to put in a e-mail adress to post here. You mentioned last night that Internet Explorer is NOT on your computer at all -- if that is true, you may be completely out of luck.
It IS possible to remove IE from your computer, but it is extremely diffecult to do and not a very smart idea! IE is an integral part of your Windows operating system. Even if you don't use it as your main browser, you should leave it on your computer. Also, you MUST have IE to do your monthly Microsoft security upgrades and updates(VERY IMPORTANT!)

Wreck, I have Mozilla firefox. and all manner of firewalls and stuff on this ocmputer...and sadly I don't know anything about what i aactually have just that "i'm fine"..."i got everything I need"...."don't worry"....and then I get a nice pat on the old back...meanwhile....the one place where I actually feel at home and comfortable and trusting anc where I can give an opinion and not be "abused"...I can't get on to....how bizarre...lol
thanks wreck for being so nice.

Ok, can someone tell me what I am looking for here. I have registered with typepad and have made changes to Tools/Internet Options/Privacy as suggested above. How do I know this works? Sorry to be such a dumbass!

Okay, if you registered at typepad -- did you get your e-mail confirmation? Click on the link in that e-mail to complete registration.
Next, go back to Typekey and "log-out."
Then; go to chat 325 and click on "sign-in." It will take you back to log-in at typekey and then return you to chat 325.
Hit "REFRESH" a few times and you should be able to post if you have your cookie acceptance level on low!

I'm having a hard time too.

Posted by: angela | Tuesday, November 29, 2005 at 06:47 PM
Just another thought to further muddle things! (LOL):
If any of you have some type of additional "Cookie Monitor" program on your computer - you will need to "tell" that program to accept http://typepad.com and http://typekey.com. in its list of cookies to accept.
Posted by: wreck | Tuesday, November 29, 2005 at 06:48 PM
Fiery, see if the person patting you on the back and telling you not to worry can load IE back on your computer. I have it even though Firefox is my primary browser. Once it is loaded, see if they can set the cookie option to the lowest. You are a great poster and we would hate to lose you.

Katya, how far did you get?

oh thanks newswatcher....I love you all...i feel so at home here...Finals are coming and the person patting me on the back was seeking attention from
a female member of my household....she didn't buy into it...so...now I'm a mess...lol....goes to show...sometimes it is better to look a gift horse in the mouth and walk away....lol

i'm gonna e mail the other techies...they sometimes fix my computer from afar...if they can't do it....then i will get desperate....lol..

fiery, I finally figured it out. I think I read above that you have firewalls on your comp. I had to make changes in my firewall before I got the comment box.
