While few people know about the 2% booking rate on gang-sweeps, everybody knows 'Fuck the Police'. Thus began the reduction of a cogent political process to the jackleg ministrations of the Coalition of the Damned and the false romanticism [Read More]

PA, Philadelphia has a cop killer on death row. He shot this police officer in cold blood. Amazing the people that are coming out to support this clown.
Convicted of the 1981 murder of Philadelphia policeman Daniel Faulkner
Former member of the Black Panthers and NPR commentator Leftist icon
Frequent guest speaker at college commencement ceremonies through tapes recorded in his prison cell

Mumia Abu Jamal was catapulted into the public limelight by an event that occurred shortly after 3:55 a.m. on December 9, 1981, when Philadelphia police officer Daniel Faulkner made a traffic stop on Locust Street; he pulled behind William Cook's car, radioed for police backup, approached Cook's vehicle and ordered the driver to get out of his car. While Faulkner handcuffed Cook, the driver of a taxi parked across the street suddenly ran across Locust toward Faulkner and shot him in the back. As the policeman fell, he drew his own gun and managed to shoot the cabdriver in the chest, wounding but not killing him. The gun-wielding cabdriver then fired repeatedly at Faulkner, finally dispatching him from close range with a bullet in the brain

The punishment should fit the crime. Or "crimes" in Tookie's case.

Dan-- I was just on another site reading about other Nobel peace prize nominees-- Hitler & Stalin were just two of the names that were also nominated. Enough said. 26 years on deathrow is still 26 years longer than his 4 victims had to live. Oopersann

Something tells me the very reason that the Nobel organization requires nominee names to be kept secret for 50 years is because people would otherwise exploit it - and thus cheapen it...

And that's basically what we see happening, because too many people have nomination rights and special agendas to go along with those nominating rights.

50 years is a good number - because the bottom line is that in 50 years, it won't matter who of the thousands of qualified or not so qualified were nominated - in 50 years it will only matter who won.

Let him die in shame for all the crimes he committed and all the crimes committed by the gang he created. That will be justice.

The Williams case having been sent to Gov. Arnie of Cali for clemency is going to cause some real tension here. The crap about forensics not being accurate on 3 points of his convictions is a very big laugh since everything has been tried over and over in different courts. No question that the guy has made some litarary contributions and been publically instrumental in denouncing violence from his cell, but evidence has emerged that he continues to be a power figure in the Crips gang which he started years ago. I think this is the first time the Gov. has considered clemency since his inauguration. I realize a lot of time has passed since he brutally murdered his victims, but brutal they were and if this State is going to have a death penalty, then let's get on with it.

Oh my grief! Tell me someone was high on some drug that can be traced to Tookie's lineage when they came up with a Nobel Prize and Tookie's name.

Those thumps at the cemetary is Nobel rolling in his grave.

I sent Gov. Arnie an email strongly opposing any consideration for this murderer. He committed the crimes and must pay for them, in fact it should have been completed years ago.

Please do not allow these other criminals (low lifes in hollywood) that are supporting this thug to have the last laugh. The liberals of this country would rather have the USA evolve to the opposite direction than it began. We have allowed the negatives(low lifes) in this country to lower everything of acheivement that Americans have worked hard for. We have allowed them to "dummy down" America by lowering college entrance guidelines, changing testing procedures, installing politically correct on every statement because of fear of retaliation. Everytime that term - politically correct - is used, it is a signal that it is a lie. It is great that this man may have saved anothers life by denouncing the hate crimes he so much lived in, however, his death will make an even more profound statement. If he gets clemency from death, then the killing may never end and the prisons will for sure be overcrowded. Just thought you wanted to know.

What role does racism (white supremacy/culture/system)play in this? Perhaps if our enslaved Black ancestors were truly freed we would have had freedom, justice, & equality, and Mr. Williams would have gotten the respect he deserved as a human-being. White supremacy is the root of all ills throughout the world. It needs to be dismantled immediately! It is an unjust system which divides blacks and non-white. It's a system for White genetic survival. Why not put to death the system of White supremacy on Dec 13.

Williams, 53, was sentenced to death in 1981 for fatally shooting Albert Owens, a Whittier convenience store worker, in 1979. He also was convicted of killing two Los Angeles motel owners and their daughter during a robbery that same year.

On February 28, 1979, around 4 AM, Williams Stanley "Tookie" had his eye on a 7-Eleven store. After two already unsuccessful robbery attempts, Williams found the store clerk, Albert Owens, out front sweeping the parking lot. Owens, who now would have been a grandfather, was ordered back into the store where Williams told him to lie on the floor. It was after Williams collected less then $122.00, Williams shot Owens execution style in the back. He then shared the spoils of the crime with three others, who would later provide information about the crime to the police.

After the robbery Williams was quoted as having told his brother "You should have heard the way he sounded when I shot him!" Williams then made a growling noise and laughed hysterically.

A little over a month later on March 11, young Robert Yang woke up to the sound of screaming and gunfire. Robert lived with his family in a modest motel they owned on South Vermont Street in Los Angeles. Robert woke as Williams was robbing the hotel of $600.00. Before leaving, Williams murdered Robert's father, mother and his sister to prevent being identified. Williams used the same gun that he was identified as purchasing years earlier.

If anyone would like to see just what tookie did to his victims there are links to photos of his victims on the website below. There are warnings that they are graphic. Before anyone say "let tookie live" they need to see the agonizing way these truly innocent folks died. The world will be a better place without Mr. Williams.

What would Jesus do?

If Arnold gives this guy clemancy I'm going to burn my Predator and Terminator DVDs. The people that want him to live are racists. They blame his conviction on white supremacy and racism by whites, but they can't even see that every time a black man is convicted of killing non blacks Jesse Jackson and other racists are there calling for him to be spared. They never focus on the case but just on his claims that he is innocent and all the "good" things he has done. Tookie has only apologized for hurting other black people by starting the crips but he hasn't apologized for the four people he executed. Why, because they weren't black. Tookie is a racist and the only people that want him spared are other racists or people who just oppose the death penalty. Arnold, please do not let this guy off, and piss in the faces of the families of his victims. Let the great state of California deep fry this murderer. It's not vengence, its punishment.

One only needs to look to the Bible for the answers. The principle of justice that requires punishment equal in kind to the offense (not greater than the offense, as was frequently given in ancient times). Thus, if someone puts out another's eye, one of the offender's eyes should be put out. The principle is stated in the Book of Exodus as “Thou shalt give life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot.”

Anyone can quote the Bible, but it's how you analyze the information is what makes the difference. Everyone should read ROMANS 12:17-21

Romans 12:17-21
17 Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. 18 If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. 19 Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.” 20 To the contrary, “if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink; for by so doing you will heap burning coals on his head.” 21 Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Romans 12:17-21

No on on this earth has the authority to take life or give life. I feel he should not be killed, but he should remain in prison for the rest of his natural life. This world needs to be more humble toward other people, and we need to be more understanding and forgiving. Do not condemn what you don't understand.

Tell these folks that! Who speaks for the victim....just read.

Melvin and Linda Lorenz and their son Richard were killed by Roger Stafford. Melvin stopped on a highway near Purcell, Okla., to help what he thought was a woman whose car had broken down, but instead was ambushed by Stafford and his brother, using Stafford's wife as bait. Less than a month after these horrific murders, the trio killed six employees of a steak house in Oklahoma City.

In 1985, 13-year-old Karen Patterson was shot to death in her bed in North Charleston, S.C. Her killer was a neighbor who had already served 10 years of a life sentence for murdering his half-brother Charles in 1970. Joe Atkins cut the Pattersons' phone lines, then entered bearing a machete, a sawed-off shotgun, and a pistol. Karen's parents were chased out of their home by Atkins. Karen's mom ran to the Atkins home nearby, where Joe then murdered his adopted father, Benjamin Atkins, 75, who had worked to persuade parole authorities to release Joe from the life sentence.

When Katy Davis observed three strangers outside her Austin, Texas, apartment, she walked away. Returning later, she was attacked and forced to open the door by Charles Rector, on parole for a previous murder. The men ransacked her apartment, abducted her and took her to a lake where she was beaten, gang-raped, shot in the head and repeatedly forced underwater until she drowned.

Ruby Longsworth of Pasadena, Texas, met Jeffrey Barney through a prison ministry, then helped him get paroled from an auto-theft sentence. Her kindness was repaid when Barney raped and sodomized her, then strangled her with a cord. She had made the mistake of calling Barney "a bum" after she had gotten to know him better.

In 1965, Robert Massie murdered mother of two Mildred Weiss in San Gabriel, Calif., during a follow-home robbery. Hours before execution, a stay was issued so Massie could testify against his accomplice. Massie's sentence was commuted to life when the Supreme Court halted executions in 1972. Receiving an undeserved second chance, Massie was paroled, but eight months later robbed and murdered businessman Boris Naumoff in San Francisco.

Faith Hathaway was 17 when she was murdered by Robert Willie, whose story became the inspiration for the film Dead Man Walking. Hathaway had just graduated from high school and was leaving for the Army the next day. She was abducted after leaving a farewell party in Mandeville, La. Willie and accomplice Joseph Vaccaro had been on an 8-day murder, robbery and rape spree. Hathaway was raped by both assailants and stabbed 17 times. She was raped again after she died.

Kenneth Boyd murdered his estranged wife Julie and his father-in-law, Dillard Curry in Rockingham County, N.C. Julie and her children were living with Curry. Boyd entered the home and shot them both in the presence of his own children, then ages 13, 12 and 10.

In about 10 hours Mr. Williams will know for sure if he has been redeemed. Mr. Owens was shot twice in the lower back with no vital organs that would end his life quickly being hit. Estimates say that it took anywhere from 7 to 10 minutes for Mr. Owens to die in excruciating pain, I guess you could say Mr. Owens recieved the death penalty in a most hineous, horrible way. Pray for his victims not Mr. Williams.
