Taylor Behl Investigators Seek Help Identifying Pond

Looks like they still don't have enough of what they need to convict Ben Fawley.

MATHEWS -- Two mysterious photographs of a peaceful looking pond surrounded by woods are the latest development in the death of college freshman Taylor Behl.

The task force investigating the death of the 17-year-old girl - whose remains were found Oct. 5 in a remote wooded area of Mathews County - wants the public to help investigators locate the pond shown in the photographs.

I don't understand why they can't convict him of anything, maybe not first degree, but he has already said she died while she was with him and because of what kind of sex they had.

I say they need to check out Gwynn's Island area. If I were the RPD, I would hand these pics out to the Marinas in the area.

I bet some fisherman will know where this pond is.

And it inevitably leads to another question...what are they looking for? Camera and tripod? Or are we looking at the scene of the murder?

Maybe they believe her cell phone, car keys, credit card (I think that's what she left the dorm with that has not been found) and the camera/tripod from his 'abduction'. Or yes, maybe this is believed to be the initial crime scene. Sure wish they would let loose of a little more info.

I wondered about the cell phone, car keys, credit card too, but finding that stuff doesn't prove anything. He admitted she died with him and he hid the body. So hiding that stuff wouldn't be a surprise. I think they are looking for something to prove capital murder. So I guess that might be the camera. But if it's at the bottom of a lake pics are no good, right? If it's a crime scene, maybe evidence can still be picked up. That's a big maybe.

Hmm, what if it's not about Taylor? Ol' Ben has all the earmarks of a serial killer, maybe Taylor wasn't his first? Granted, he's not the brightest bulb in the box, but I keep wondering.

I don't get it...if he already "confessed" to police by saying he accidentally strangled her to death then panicked and left her body in the woods, isn't that enough to convict him of something??? Our system really pisses me off sometimes. That guy obviously killed her and intentionally or not (probably the former) he still lied about it, tried to hide her body and tried to hide her car using different license plates. If that doesn't have guilty written all over it. If Ben Fawley walks (and is not locked up for life or for a VERY long time), I will kill myself. It would be appalling if he were declared 'innocent'. Everybody knows that. argh argh argh. OK...sorry. Done with my rant.

The pond is probably freshwater, as the salinity in salt water would keep the deciduous trees further back from the water's edge and not hanging out over the pond.

Fawley reportedly says she died during "rough sex," whatever that is. How, exactly, might that happen, especially without his knowing it at the time? If there were some sort of strangulation, would that not take at least a few minutes, and not be sudden? In other words, how could it escape his notice in time to stop whatever he was doing to her?

Also, wanting for Fawley to get abused in jail is not going to bring Taylor back. Aren't we supposed to be higher beings than that?

It takes 4 minutes to choke someone to death...4 MINUTES...set a timmer,sit there and see how long 4 minutes actually is.....IT WAS NO "ACCIDENT"....

OK...so he said she died 'accidentally'. Either way, he was having sex with a minor and she DIED. a mother's worst nightmare. he should at least be locked up with no chance for parole for life. he doesn't have that many years left to live anyway, considering he's almost 40 and doesn't look that healthy. anybody who engages in watching child pornography should be locked up for life anyway, especially if they take lude pics of their own children. disgusting. appalling. I am still amazed that people actually believe that the F.B.I. is capable of doing much more then bending paper clips into triangular shapes. I mean maybe that’s the cause of it or all those give-away colored pens that they have in their left pockets., lawdy and the wardrobe, please can I get a “wut wut” on that! The budget for our endearing crime solvers for the fiscal year of 2006 was set at a mere drop in the bucket of, $5.7 billion dollars? WTH? I was recently the target of several threats from someone at myspace who was my first friends request there, as was recommended I reported it to the “proper authorities” they sent me in a circle from one agency to another. I wrote the F.B.I. and they never responded. I also wrote them in regards to skulz, who hacked me, why/ who freaking knows, my only link to him was myspace and it was indirect. Taylor Marie Behl was my second friends request at myspace. I also contacted the F.B.I. about several photographs that were circulating from a tribute page at myspce that were taken of Taylor right before she was abducted and killed. Once again, no return call or inquiry from the F.B.I. I was recently involved in another situation at myspace [I have a music page] yah! right! hey & hey! Anywayz, I was initially rerouted through the official F.B.I. page to a phone number in Portland, Oregon, the person I spoke to there gave me a phone number for my are, which I called immediately. It seemed like I must have dialed the wrong number because I called it twice and no answer, finally by the third try after several rings some guy answered in an angry tone. When I asked him why the lack of response and hostility he said “I have a degree in criminology not secretarial work” whoah! In an even angrier tone he asked me why I was calling, cut me off with, “Do you want to file a complaint or not because I am busy” ,of course I said declined. You ready for this, I did call back again, why, disbelieve over what had just occurred. This time another guy answered the phone when I explained what had just happened to me, he said, “No one works here by that name”, no, no, no, its gets much better. Later that night I received another threat, so as was recommended by the local police I called for assistance, when the officer arrived he said I needed to contact the F.B.I. I explained to him what had happened and he asked me the agents name and he said to me “No one by that name works at the F.B.I. office here.” He asked to see the number that I called and he said that is not the F.B.I. number.
