OSM: On PJ's And Suits

Or Boyz To Men? Glad to see they're back in jammies - it always was a nice name. Unfortunately between the time the message went up and now, it seems to have become registration only. You can read much of it at the link above.

But allow me this, as I am a business person first and foremost. "Groovy" was in the first sentence of their new anouncement. Tip: Much of your current readership is Red State America, don't fly too far over fly over country if you want to succeed with your communications - which are terrible, unfortunately.

Be groovy on your blogs, or shut down, or out source your blogs, but don't be "groovy" or "Bofo" at PJM unless you're angling to be LA Confidential, which you ain't. Get yourself a managing director, late 30's, Ivy League MBA, ideally NY not West Coast, one who is extremely net savvy and incredibly hands on.

I wrote three of you and offered you a little chance to simply go on the Internet and chat yourself up in a small, safe space - would have been good practice. You didn't even have the courtesy to respond. Concerning me, it means nothing to you big picture ... but you aren't doing much to create good will, or communicate effectively in a business which hinges upon both.

You are not first movers with a ton of cash and you're acting like it - you're the tip of the second wave and you're going to get knocked on your jammie flap at the rate you're going. The PJ's move is nice, but you're both accomplished individuals in your own right before you were bloggers. Don't blame things on mysterious men in "suits." That's a 30 Rock ploy. Put on some business casual attire and get to work and learn to be nice, even to the people who aren't alway nice to you.

Otherwise, you better get PJ's with the widdle booties, because you're going to have a lot of time to rest in a year or two ... if not sooner. Ask your lead investor. Remember, when Bill Gates met IBM they had a lot more than 3.5 Mil and he had squat. Who wound up owning whom? It ain't about the money, fellas - least not until you've made some with the endeavor.
