via getagripmonkey, - er something like that.
People in positions of power and authority should hold themselves to higher standards and should base their decisions on facts and logic. Governor Riley should have made serious attempts to get complete and correct information before threatening the livelihood of 100,000 good and hard-working people.
The fact that Birmingham, Alabama was just ranked the 10th most dangerous city in the entire USA, underscores the fact that Governor Riley is trying to divert attention away from his obvious failures in serving his constituency. The call by Governor Riley was followed by another such call by Dr. Phillip C. McGraw, alias “Dr. Phil”. Dr. Phil’s show, which caters to the daytime TV audience, presented a flawed and biased picture of the events surrounding Natalee Holloway’s disappearance. The show also failed to make any efforts whatsoever to get the facts.
The former therapist quit his practice in 1989, shortly after being publicly reprimanded by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists, a move not taken lightly by that supervisory body. The reprimand was a result of an accusation of sexual abuse by a former patient [ed. false: reprimand was for employing a former client], and as a result Mr. McGraw was placed under a year of supervision by a licensed psychologist. In addition he had to complete physical and psychological exams as well as an ethics class.

Having trouble reading? LOL Sounds like Riley would rather stick his nose in someone elses business rather than deal with his own problems. Hope the AL voters are watching.

Birmingham may have been listed as{I don't see it, having lived here 56 of my almost 61 years} the 10th most dangerous city in the U. S, My husband was born in England and lived all over the world . He put down roots in Birmingham over 30 years ago and wouldn't leave the city even with a gun pointed at his head. It's the country's best kept secret.

Do you have to boycott a country on speculations??

First of all, I hope Columbo was kidding above.
Second, I just can't stomach the whole boycott thing. What's the point? How would you measure the success? Is Natalee's best interest at heart here?
Whatever the case, I am tiring of the positioning and the politics of the case of a missing child. It sucks plain and simple.

Phil McGraw is flawed and always has been. Why anyone would watch that jerk is beyond me - but millions do. And BT called him a saint.
Now Phil and his corporate lawyers may be heading back to court - civil and criminal. In fact, when this mess concludes, Deepak Kalpoe might own the Dr Phil Show - and Harpo Productions too. Deepak Kalpoe may be signing Oprah's paycheck after this catastrophe.
If the goal was to enrich the trio, by 24/7 slandering and game-playiing - they might be there at this point. I'd look for lawsuits filed in 2006, if the tape was altered to basically put a confession to gang rape in Deepak's mouth.
A criminal prosecution might be possible too. There may also be penalties imposed by US courts.
And Skeeters is not off the hook, by claiming he turned over authenticated materials that Phil doctored. He knew full well the distortion being played au nauseum. He knew the effect on the case his "tape" had. He knew it was a fraud.
He may find his license revoked at the very least.

Two sisters ran up to me at work. "Did you see Dr. Phil", apparetnly they felt he was going to find Natalee.
Whereas the 1 mill reward and endless searches atc could not. I told them I dont like trash TV, esp Dr. Phil. I dont like people giving martial advice when they walk out on there own families. They were shocked. They did not know of his past.
I told them when they pull in Jossy, that is when they will find out what happened to Natalee.
Dr. Phil, like Nancy Disgrace and FoxNews are trash in my book.
The three boys admitted they lied. Maybe they know more, maybe they dont. But when is Jossy and the rest going to admit they too misled the investigation? Maybe lock them up for a time and we will get the truth. Which is "We dont know anymore than anyone else, we are just getting rich of this"

I do not think the call for the boycott is based on crime rates but on what might charitably be called a bungled investigation and official intransigience. A more precise term would be malfeasance by the Aruban authorities. Birmingham's McWane Inc. is not calling the kettle black, its just calling on American citzens to bear in mind the abysmal performance of a foreign government when those Americans make their travel plans. The fact that many such calls for a boycott are ineffectual is perhaps irrelevant but I do not think it was lost on the Aruban officials that the notification bulletin to independent travel agents alerted them of the boycott and only in the next item alerted them to the rioting and civil commotion in France.
