Natalee Holloway: The Joe Mammana Angle

What a sad part of the side show this has become. I've several points to make here, hopefully you'll stick with it, if you're interested. I'll begin with some new material from her blog - more likely to attract male trolls with her picture, than anyone looking for an intelligent, principled discussion.

Give the guy a chance! He's trying to do something good...why bring up his past, when it has NOTHING TO DO WITH NATALEE?

Beth will be on Dr. Phil tomorrow...I am waiting for her schedule to clear up so I can meet her and Joe. I'm very excited to be involved in something so important.

Let me get this straight ... a bright young life is missing and presumed dead, you're about to get a chance to meet what one should assume is her still grieving Mother and a hate monger and you're compelled to tell the world you're EXCITED? Is there nothing wrong with that picture to you?

You're right about one thing, sweety - THAT has nothing to do with Natalee. Don't they have a prison system in Indiana .... maybe even a death row? I would expect someone with your intelligence and sensitivity would just about wet her panties for the chance to meet a prominent serial killer, or, you know, someone important like THAT. Exactly how many marriage proposals have you mailed addressed To Whom It May Concern / care of San Quentin, I wonder?

I will get some exclusive information regarding the boycott successes thus far and the latest news on the case that you won't hear on TV anywhere. Joe has insisted that he will only give inside information on the case to me or Rita Cosby from MSNBC. So, as for blogging goes...this is the place to be in the upcoming weeks.

I care deeply about the Natalee Holloway case and I happen to agree with Joe M's brutal honesty in his desire to help missing people.  I respect people with BALLS.

Okay, we've established that your blond, simple-minded, hot for BALLS and something of a cheer leader. So, please pardon me for thinking your Mother's biggest challenge in high school was keeping the back of your cheer uniform clean every time the newest bad boy in town came along.

I also believe that people can change. He's obviously been rehabilitated and has proven to the country of his dedication to doing the right thing and his mission of helping missing persons. If you look at the facts, there's no denying it. He always tells me, "It's not how you start the race, it's how you finish it."

If you were any more dense, you'd have to strap fog lights on your thighs just to get laid on a sunny day, Good Lord. Here is your old Joe Mammana:

PHILADELPHIA - A man who has contributed thousands of dollars in rewards to the Citizens Crime Commission of Delaware Valley for catching killers and kidnappers has a lengthy criminal background, according to a published report.

Joseph Mammana, 44, has spent time behind bars for charges including aggravated assault, drug possession, fraud, car theft and identity theft ... He served eight months in Montgomery County prison for striking his wife with a countertop in 1991, when he was 32. Mammana also was jailed in Florida and New Jersey on drug and fraud charges, as well as for the theft of cars, coats, and the identities of two people in the 1980s and 1990s.

Mammana has made more than $130,000 in public pledges to the crime commission over the past decade, ... At the time of his contributions, he was wanted on warrants in Bucks County and Florida, the paper reported.

Last month, Charlotte County, Florida, recalled its 1992 warrant for a probation violation. On Tuesday, the Bucks County 1988 warrant was recalled after Mammana surrendered to sheriff's deputies. An April 19 trial date was set.

That warrant was issued after Mammana, a competitive bodybuilder, allegedly failed to pay $550 for a weightlifter's belt from Prestige Saddle & Harness of Quakertown.

"If he truly wants to be a good guy, he can start with me," Prestige owner Karen Porter said after being told of Mammana's philanthropy.

He holds a mortgage to a house in Lower Makefield, Bucks County, but his name isn't on the deed. He owns three businesses in Pennsylvania and one in New Jersey, but they do not apparently exist at their registered addresses.

One company, Paris Cosmetics, is registered at the home address of Mammana's mother, who said her son does not sell cosmetics from her home. Hope Mammana said her son turned his life around but she would not comment further.

In 1988, Mammana was charged in Montgomery County with raping a girlfriend, but the charge was dropped when he pleaded guilty to harassment. He received a suspended sentence.

In 1989 in Sarasota County, Florida, Mammana and another man tried to buy a Corvette using someone else's identity, according to the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He spent three months in prison.

In 1990, he returned to the Philadelphia area and married his second wife, stating his job on his marriage application as steelworker. He then was ordered to pay restitution and serve three years' probation for bouncing a check at Zinman Furs in New Jersey two years earlier.

In 1991, he was charged in Montgomery County with opening a checking account in another man's name, and in Burlington County, N.J., with stealing three cars from a Nissan dealership.

That October, he pleaded guilty and served eight months for aggravated assault of his then-wife, Lisa, and for possession with intent to deliver steroids.

"He threatened to kill me, and he threatened to scar my face," she testified. "He threatened to have my father's house burnt down. He threatened to have my daughter raped and blinded."

When she said she wanted a divorce, Mammana tore a countertop from its hinges, struck her over the head with it and put a knife to her throat, she testified.

He later served one year for the car thefts in Burlington County.

Screw justice. I believe in REVENGE.

These three pieces of TRASH have a Sicilian on their tail who has arms and eyes that can reach and see AROUND THE WORLD. They can run, but they can't hide. I want them and the Aruban government to look at me and know that they are out of their league.

Those are not the words of a rehabilitated man. They are the words of an angry, hate-filled individual gloaming onto a good cause in an attempt to either purge his own demons, or shroud his own troubling outlook with some legitimacy.

The search for Natalee Holloway, for any intelligent, caring individual, was and is about justice. There is nothing just in this man's rants. There is no law in his would be good works, except what he himself might desire it to be as he hides what appears to be a hateful, unenlightened, disturbed and disordered personality behind the skirt of any real concept of Justice.

At it's best, it's schoolyard bluster - and at it's worst, it's criminal. And you're proud of posting that, somehow? Frankly, as a fellow blogger, that's what's so offensive to me.

If you get off having some Italian thug with a few dollars defining justice for you, you would have loved Italy in the 30's and 40's.

The world stamped out that evil and if you, or the Mother of Natalee Holloway had any sense at all, they wouldn't allow such an individual to use them to play out his self-centered, attention-seeking, maladjusted neurosis. You were likely better off back in the day when you were under the bleachers playing genital gymnastics with some kid who got cut from the football team for not showering with the team.

I think that's the whole point here. Dealing with women who go after abusive controlling men is something I have delt with many times workin in a drug rehab. Dan did not say anyting different than I would have said to another female sitting in front of me, that just refused to understand, or give a shit what they were walking into. They wanted to do it because they could make a difference, or falling at such a mans feet made them feel wanted, appreciated.

I hate to interfere with all the love being spread right about now. But I would like to point out a few things.

First, as a woman, I am offended that another woman would jump on a bandwagon of someone who clearly has a lack of respect for women. I use the would has, rather than had, because I don't believe a leopard can change his spots- he can only find better brush to hide in. If it takes Dan to point out how completely off key this so called "journalist" is- then so be it.

There is a major difference between choosing to report on something and choosing to stroke some man's ego. She has hit an all time high of stroking her own ego while stroking his. As for Joe, if he truly was all about helping the situation he could it without the media attention, or as she referred to it "circus". Anonymous donor. But no, he goes on international television and proceeds to blatantly demonstrate outrageous behavior.

Great post, L.! There is a lot of wisdom in there. I once had an isolated incident many years ago where I was assaulted by someone I briefly dated. I called the police and never saw him again, however, imagine my surprise when my closest friend at the time, decided to date this **shole! Several weeks later, she comes crying to me that he beat her too! Go figure, dumb woman! Why so many women think that 'they' will be ones to make such a man 'better' is beyond me!

The wife beating I could forgive and forget if I thought he was genuinely remorseful; in truth I've known more than a few men AND women who could benefit from a slap upside the head. Beth chose to spend a week with this guy recently instead of staying at home with her husband and son. Does she ever see Matt? From what I have seen, since she got back from Aruba she has been traveling all over the US.

Obvious you are not aware of the laws. Any person who has a fear of another person can take a case in front of a Judge and have that personal information removed from any and all public records. Even social security information is removed. When a person seeking such protection files for a job, files criminal charges, registers to vote, are given a state department number. No personal info can be obtained or given out by any governement agency. Even if the person wishing to be protected is arrested, their address is not given, other than a federal post office box. The federal government then forwards any mail. It is not public information. All records for a person are kept behind a locked cabinet, only to be accessed by authorized persons.

Any person out here who needs such protection should contact their local Abuse Hotline, they will direct you to the proper local and state authorities to have this accomplished.
