I'm not posting this for some agenda. I just never saw such a detailed report on the Courtney Cox assisted auction in Mountain Brook before and came across this while researching another topic. Though I'd pass it along, though it's old news. I wonder who got the Master's tickets? Nice item for a golf fan.
Even so, more than $110,000 was raised by guests taking home sports memorabilia and fashion and celebrity autographed gifts. There were 34 designer fashions, including a Brian Cook fox boa and Dana Buchman fur jacket.
There were twice as many sports items, including 12 Skybox tickets to the Alabama-Auburn Iron Bowl 2005, four tickets to the Masters, as well as a Boston Red Sox game in Fenway Park, autographed footballs and tennis rackets.
The 94 celebrity-autographed items gathered by Courteney, a Mountain Brook High School graduate, and David, included photos, posters and guitars signed by Sting, Amy Grant and Vince Gill, Clint Black, John Mayer, Alan Jackson, Bob Weir and Brooks and Dunn, Courteney's TV show "Friends" DVDs and tickets to "The View," "Live with Regis and Kelley" and "The Tony Danza" TV shows in New York City.
On top of all that there were some other stunning items, including a hefty John Ager stone cross, Anita Miles' jeweled crosses and gift certificates for a Five Star Plantation quail hunt, wine tasting for 12, portraits and a getaway to Sundance Resort in Utah.
Among the supporters there were many of Natalee's fellow grads from Mountain Brook High School, home from college, wearing yellow "... for Natalee" T-shirts, including Claire Fierman, Madison Whatley and Frances Ellen Byrd. More spotted were parents of grads who went on the trip to Aruba.
Also in the crush were Courteney's mom, Courteney Copeland, Pat Copeland, Elizabeth Branch, Betsy Koepsel, Frances and Miller Gorrie, Francie and Ogden Deaton, Marlene Willings, Holman and Margaret Head, Peggy and Bob Faircloth, Jack Schaeffer, Tim Hennessy, Andrea Carmichael, Ginger and Fletcher Abele, Elizabeth and Bill Wyatt, CeCe and Chris Hughes, Judy Carns, Sara and Wally Nall, Beth Williams, Ellen Gorrie and Jim Walker, Kathy and Matt Whatley, Stephanie and Keith Fierman and Vivian Tucker, who owns Harvest Glen, where Natalee worked part-time, there with Mallie.
"There's no place like home," from Natalee's favorite movie "The Wizard of Oz" was the evening's theme, underscored by Robert Logan's lifesize cutouts of the stars on the warehouse walls.
Beth wore tiny, crystal ruby red slippers pinned to her white blouse and a wishbone necklace like Natalee's and her friends. Beth was home, but not for long. She went back to Aruba and the international media frenzy covering the search Sunday.

Yeah right dan not posting it for an agenda... that is all your about is an agenda....

There doesn't seem to be anything in that article which would advance any agenda in this case that I have heard of. It is just talking about the fundraiser.

$110,000 is a drop in the bucket. They already had 1 million in the first few weeks. They probably got $10 million from Phil's shows alone, and there's no slowing down. The Twitty AM South fund will probably be up to $50 million by the end of the year. It's nice to have a brother in the banking business...

You're rather paranoid. Someone had asked about such a story at the time and I never saw one. Besides, 110k is nothing. I would imagine that wouldnt even cover Equusearch's cost. If I were interested in the money angle, I'd want to know what ES raised and spent. Frankly, I'm not. I don't have an issue with the funds raised by the family, or think this is all about some financial scheme. If you weren't so biased you would realize that I continue to post a link to the fund raising for Dave with every discussion forum - so much for your lunacy.

Why are you so obsessed with all of this? Geesh you are just like Beth - and you don't even have a family member missing!

The only lunatic that is parinoid Dan is you... you have an agenda and that is obvious..... you slam the twitty's and holloway's at every turn and yet you post a link for Dave for donations.. your a hypocrite

Just curious Dan...no..I'm curious not you..well maybe you are...you said in the your post you were researching another topic when you happened to come across this article..what were you researching...I know you don't have an agenda cause you said so in your opening line...besides over at the post about political donations you put up an old photo of Wallace..when I saw that I was totally convinced you have no agenda whatsoever...all kiddin aside what were you researching

So that would explain away why Beth Twit would not allow the kids from their precious little click of the rich and infamous ;) kids that were on the trip to be investigated after all than the money machine might shut off.
This gets more interesting by the minute especially when it gets to the amount of "DONATIONS" that were given. This MUST BE INVESTIGATED by the FBI Immediately before the trail gets to cold!
Not to mention the rich and famous would not want their precious little names to be drug thru the mud because who knows what may have been revealed about them.
I knew none of this was adding up, all these attacks on certain people of Aruba, all of this was to take the focus off of the real perps and who knows what other COVER UP. Which makes the exploitaion of Natalee by those she trusted even more sickening!

Just as an FYI, the article you referenced was in the "Scribbler" column. It's the social column for Birmingham which runs on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. The reason for the detail (i.e. who attended) is purely for social reasons.
Probably not appropriate; just is what it is.

My god! If they ever find NH its gonna be one heck of a funeral, thats for sure!

Dan has finally owned up (publically) to the fact that this site belongs to NH. Without her, he is out of business.

I read another report at the time that said possibly as much as $300,000 was donated.

Why is DAN "so obsessed with all of this"? As far as I can tell, none of us that read this blog have a family member missing (or are related to Natalee), yet…here we are, reading every word. We are just like baby birds, waiting for every morsel. I would think that if one isn't interested in this case, they would just move along, instead of insulting the host. Simple as that!
