Bumped w/updates
From MSNBC's Chris Matthews:
"If we stop trying to figure out the other side, we've given up. The person on the other side is not evil -- they just have a different perspective."
No, this isn't evil, you moron. Or maybe you need to watch the video via Rusty that the MSM didn't want to show too much. Not because it was evil, of course - it's just that those poor Islamofascists are so misunderstood.
Update: Matthews Jumps the Shark via Rusty
Matthews in Canada via Hyscience
"If we stop trying to figure out the other side, we've given up. The person on the other side is not evil -- they just have a different perspective."

That photo was extremely unnecessary. I've been to your site many times a day for months, but I won't be back.
That's disrespectful of the dead, and of your readers.

That photo was extremely unnecessary
Perhaps it simply represents a different perspective. Our enemy didn't have an issue taking it and showing it to the world. Thanks for emphasizing my point on your way out.

When the photos and videos were released I avoided them but now I click on your page and BOOM! there it is. My heart is hurting because it is amazing to me what humans can do to one another. I do think that it is EVIL! I understand Chris Matthews saying we need to know our enemies but to think that they are not evil, that it is just a different perspective is just asinine.

I think photos like this should be shown DAILY to remind us of what kind of enemy we are fighting....like the song says "Have you forgotten??"

Is it more disrespectful to show a photo of the dead, or informing the world of the evil upon us?
NG you need to get a reality check, without photos such as these the world would not believe it happened...

Matthew's opinions aside.....
Dan, the war is passing you by. Frankly, the old arguments to support the War no longer ring true to a majority of Americans.
Now, maybe you think those American's are all fools, they way you seem to believe Matthews is out of touch...
but, in reality the public can see the War for what it is and was. And, they are deciding in larger and larger numbers that they were mislead, and that the results aren't worth the cost....or even certain.
It's done. Over. Finished. American's will be leaving Iraq sooner versus later.
Demonizing the enemy is fine. But, the American public is trusting that message less and less.
The only thing left to do in Iraq is to formulate a strategy that allows America to cut and run while proclaiming victory and saving face.
But deep down...the war is and always will be a sham. Americans are waking up to this notion....thankfully, to those of us who oppose it.
To paraphrase Dick....
The Neo-cons are in their last throes.
Just my opinion of course.

How DO we fight people like this? How CAN we ever communicate with people that think suicide bombing, crashing planes into buildings and decapitating innocent civilians is an honor? This kind of violence is so foreign to our sensibilities that comprehension eludes most of us.
When I was 19, in college, I went to a party with a bunch of foreign exchange students, including a man from Iraq. When he found out that I was Jewish and that I supported Israel, he said some unbelievable things, or things that I found unbelievable at the time. (In light of today's events, I no longer find what he said unbelievable.) I have never seen such hatred in anyone's eyes as that man had when he was talking to me...I knew on a gut level that if he could have expunged me from the face of the earth, he would have.
When I think of terrorism, I think of the look in that man's eyes. Terrorists want to expunge us from the face of the earth.
However, I do believe that it is important for us to understand the conditions that lead to terrorism and find ways to stop the production of new terrorists.

Excellent Post...
Once I was in a cab, with an Egyptian driver. He had asked if I was Persian or Iranian (uh no, italian) Ask what my husband was. I asked why.. He said he was curious.. I said German/polish.. I started getting the feeling as to why the probe, He then asked what Religion.. I said Jewish. He said Why would you do that?
I replied why would you ask that. I told him he would be wise to go back to his country to live away from the Jews so he would not have to subject himself to us. I got a receipt and gave no tip.
I called the Taxi and Limo commission and no one was interested.. (they are mostly Arab).
Nice huh?

ProudAmerican starts off with righteous indignation at somebody's obvious bigotry, then ends the post with a bigoted statement.
Amazing.

Dan,
Please send a copy of your story (with the photo) to Mr. Hardball. I believe he really thinks he knows all but he is DEAD WRONG on this! Posts like "Not a Hand Wringer's" really scares me. Leave it up to these koolaid-drinking lemmings to "cut and run" and we'll all be taking pictures while holding our heads! I am squeamish and don't particularly enjoy looking at photos of that nature, but I need to be reminded that the people responsible for those horrible acts could be among us! Get real Mr. Matthews!

I had to re-read what you could have possibly found offensive by me in my post
Because I typed mostly arabs? Point of it was when I explained to them how the cab driver spoke
they were laughing and hung up
Is it not true that most arabs hate jews? Cause if it is not, tell me so i live in oz with you
Posted by: ProudAmerican | Monday, November 21, 2005 at 09:19 PM
First of all, the term ARABS is offensive. He was arabic, Second of all, your story sounds like well, a story.
And no, not all people that are arabic hate jews. They might hate zionism dont get me wrong. And they have a point whether you like it or not.

Why in the world is Arab offensive?
Arabic is what he speaks
Second I could not care less if you believe me or not it was true
Whats is their point, Em? Get real -the animosity is equal on both sides I just never heard it from a jew and most jews I know or are related to have great empathy for the Palestinian people and want them to have their own state/country.;

Aunt Em
"Arabic" is a language. He was an Arab.
He did not say all Arabs hate Jews, just most. Unfortunately, I think you are deluding yourself if you don't think most Arabs hate Jews.

Sad to have to see the photo and how dare Dan be so offensive as to remind us Starbucks drinking- short memory span-porn addicted-overly PC sensative Americans of why all of this is happening right now. If the folks over on the Natalee threads directed all the time and effort they've spent sleuthing and attacking each other and focused, yesssss focus on our war effort and what is REALLY dragging it down, I wouldn't as be disgusted as I am.
Matthews is just out of touch, right in step with the majority of our popualtion.
