It appears Kara Beth Borden wanted to runaway, get married and start a new life after her parents were murdered by David Ludwig. I'm certain any defense attorney will attempt to refute that conclusion.
LANCASTER, Pa. - A 14-year-old girl whose 18-year-old boyfriend is accused of killing her parents left with him willingly after the slayings, prosecutors said in court papers filed Monday.
David Ludwig told detectives Kara Borden ran from her home and into his car after he shot her parents Nov. 13, and Borden said she went with him of her own free will, according to documents filed by Lancaster County prosecutors. They said kidnapping charges against Ludwig would be dropped.

Does this mean she knew he was going to kill her parents ? Damn...unreal. Wonder how this case will go down as far as her involment. Awful.

I am wondering if she knew that he had killed her parents when she left with him,.

If Kara did not know in advance that Ludwig was going to kill her parents, she might have left with him willingly because that was all of her life she had left, he was the one person left that had promised to take care of her, and she might have been to scared not to go.
Ludwig was 18 years old, an adult by law, and Kara only a minor. Children can be easily persuaded to do strange things in difficult circumstances. I hope this is the case for Kara. It would be a tradegy to find out she was a part of this from the start!

Sorry, but I felt weird about her from the get-go. I got into a sh**load of trouble at 14. But I never EVER disrespected my parents or myself in the ways this girl did. It seems, from all accounts she was loved very much and in a tigh-knit family and community. Albeit a strict Christian family and community. Still, I cannot fathom going away with my parents murderer. The other siblings were in just as much fear and shock and THEY didn't go with the guy. She made selfish choices and it seems to me she will eventually lose her whole family as a result.

Hey guys...just wondering--- I keep hearing people say they came from "strict christian" families. I was just wondering why people are assuming the parents were strict. I don't think it is strict to insist my 14 year old daughter not be in a serious or sexual relationship with an 18 year old. My folks wouldn't let me date a 17 year old when I was 15, and they weren't strict at all. Just smart. That same boy ended up having a baby with my best friend not much time down the road.
There may be information I am not privy to, and in that case...I'm curious.
Thanks.

Yeah, like I'm going to take Ludwig's word on that. Heck, he might even believe that she went with him willingly, and not because he had a gun and had just murdered two people. I'D want to get that guy out of the house and away from my syblings. She might have even fantasized about running away with him, without really meaning it. She wasn't the first one he had fooled. I hope her only mistake was falling for his line.
I don't think not being allowed to date at 14 is strict either. At that age, boys were allowed to come to the house, or we could go out in a group. It never seemed restrictive to me, just meant I didn't have to fight off attentions I was too young to handle.

I don't understand why the authorities are handling Lizzy Borden with kid gloves. At a minimum she assisted David in escape. What kind of person would run off with the person who just killed her parents and want to get as far away as possible and marry him?
I think she has earned jail time. It would not surprise me if she encouraged him to hate her parents before the crime.

I read where the father is a gun collector, that's why so many guns. What bothered me was all the pictures while they were out hunting and the kids were drinking. Lots of booze bottles in the background and an adult, perhaps dad, sitting right there. Not funny.
Fond an article that says that Kara admits leaving willingly with him, but not if she knew he was going to kill her parents or if she went because she was afraid. I wouldn't be surprised either if she bad mouthed her parents to David, 14 year old girls do, at least the ones I know. But that doesn't mean we expect anyone to do anything about it, especially kill them.
Yet another article refers to David having done this before with other under age girls, this coming from his computers they confiscated.
I read references to Kara's father being shot while he was face down, and her mother shot while sitting down, or in her bedroom upstairs. But the sister says she saw her father killed at the door. I can't find the articles saying anything about where they were shot or how, just blog references to it. Anybody know? I would think that would make a heck of a difference.
Seems like the question is still up for grabs, is Kara just an idiot, or another nasty killer. I think I'll email my daughter and thank her for not killing me!

Here is one thought I've had from the beginning. Many "good Christian families" live double lives. This may be a far-fetched idea, but what if the father of Kara Borden was molesting her? I know it's a stretch because they seem to be good Christian people...then again, a lot of the Catholic priests that were supposedly men of God were molesting little boys so anything is possible. But what if she was being molested and she told Ludwig this. I am not saying that this is any justification to kill a person but we were all 18 at one point and I think we would all admit that at that age, we think we're invincible and tend to be really impulsive and do stupid things we later regret. Again, I'm not saying that what he did was right and I'm not saying that if she was remotely involved in this that it was right on her part either, but I'm thinking that maybe it was a situation where the father molested her, she told Ludwig and he wanted to be the hero and save her from the father.

Sadly I am not surprised. Evil exists everywhere.

If the father did molest her, he should have been shot. Any type of sexual predator should be exterminated because they can never be cured.

Don't even start that stuff.
David is no hero with all the teen porno and night stalking, etc. that he has been into for awhile now.

Well....I doubt if she was molested. He said he killed her parents because the father of Kara said he couldn't date her anymore. Basically for not getting what he wanted. Recall the genius had earlier said he could kill someone and get away with it. He has a history of dating younger woman via his 'brother in Christ' routine. The girl in Hawaii, the girl he supposedly kidnapped that belonged to his church in April and now Kara. Sounds like someone who uses Christ to get what he wants..literally the wolf in sheeps clothing. We have all seen that before pedophiles disguised as priests, ministers 'counselling' women, etc..but from what I have read he seemed the one to set things up to get to younger women. If you read the emails from the girl in Hawaii that becomes sort of clear. The barn for after youth group encounters etc, etc....undoubtedly to make out with the girls

No no. I'm not saying he's a hero. I'd never say that. He's a moron, plain and simple. I'm just trying to give you a hypothetical of what he may have been thinking in his sick mind. Maybe in his head he felt that if her father was doing her harm, that in his mind, if he eliminates the problem, she'll consider him some type of hero. I personally think he's a piece of crap that should get the death penalty.

nope, i didn't think that you thought he was a hero. i just don't like hearing any mention even of her Dad being a molester when there is plenty of evidence that David was into doing whacked stuff to begin with.
