Allegedly, a lover. The two are just the latest in what at least appears to be a growing trend.
TAMPA - -- Math teacher Jaymee Lane Wallace earned accolades coaching the Wharton High School girls varsity basketball team to two district titles, but several of her players told police she had a secret.
They accused Wallace of having an 18-month sexual relationship with one of their teammates that many of them discussed but didn't report until Tampa police began asking questions five months ago.

LECANTO - A female Lecanto High School teacher and former coach has been charged with having a sexual relationship this fall with a 15- year-old female student.
Amy Gail Lilley, 36, was released from the Citrus County jail Wednesday morning after posting $5,000 bail. She is charged with one count of lewd and lascivious battery on a child.

How many female teachers involved in sexual abuse of students does this make? Has this always been going on, but underreported or is it a relatively new phenomenon? I'm curious if there has been an overall increase in female lawlwssness over the past decade or two.

Dan, you can add two more teachers to the list. This past week in the panhandle of Florida, a male college adjunct professor has been accused of abusing a 11 yr old boy, and a 24 yr old female HS teacher is accused of abusing a 16 yr old boy for the past two years.

The problem is in perception:
Alot of people still do not believe that a female teacher abusing a male student is on the same level as a male teacher abusing a female student...

And unfortunately, A.M., it is men who will usually say "way to go" to the teen boy having an affair with a pretty female teacher. It is the other (GROWN) women who know just how sick the perpetrator really is. I'm relatively young, and work with teens on a pretty broad basis...even troubled teens. And EWWWW! The very thought makes me sick to my stomach. It is a demented mind who would convince him or herself that sex with a minor is consentual!!! No WAY!!!

Correction: adjunct college professor accused of abusing a 11 yr old girl, not a boy. Sorry. Also, those accusations have been disputed by many, even the girl's father as not being true.

Wow, this teacher in Lecanto was a teacher of mine a few years back. Wow. And to comment on a comment, she wasn't good looking. At all. So this really shocks me. I can understand some of the other staff (well actually, not really, this is wrong on all counts) but I would have never guessed this coming from her!

Society never looks at women being sexual predators/offenders and the huge jump in their numbers over the past 3 years is alarming. Equally alarming
is the number of these criminals were teachers!! But when I now think of
the issue, I realize this is NOT an uncommon matter.
As high school students, many of us have heard whispered innuendo of a teacher allegedly having a tryst with a student, which albeit a crime as compared to incidents involving a college professor and their students; both being parallel in nature. And it makes sense if such relationships occur in college, then the same must exist in our public school systems.
The Wallace case profiled on The Smoking Gun.com is interesting and merits our monitoring. Wallace, in the face of police gathered evidence, maintains her innocence. Of the evidence, the statements from a suspiciously reluctant alleged victim and friends this alleged victim show us a picture of a street-tough circle of female students engaged in same sex experimentation (among other possible and thinkable harmful activities).
Also among this evidence is the weak testimony of a neighbor 'eyewitness' who saw from a distance two women kissing in a car matching the make of Wallace's vehicle. And a 'witness' memory of an cellphone text message on the alleged victim's cellphone that, in it's stated context, can be preceived as either innocent or damming to Wallace. Cellphone records show a huge number of calls from the alleged victim to Wallace's cellphone that can be taken into either guilt or innocence context.
And we find out the alleged victim's mother did not bother going to police many months after being dissatisified with the internal school board investigation into this matter.
This evidence so far lends a possible fair possibility Wallace may be the target of careless student political dynamics; a case of the 'hard-ass teacher' getting her issue by exacted revenge for trying to draw a student from an otherwise harmful crowd of peers. I'm sure other police gathered evidence is forthcomming and it will either lend strength to this possibility or convict Wallace of a very serious criminal offense deserving the maximum prison sentence.
All CONVICTED sexual predators deserve to never see the light of day as a free person. However, we must not be quick to cast the Scarlett Letter on the accused until their guilt CLEARLY PROVEN.
The police gathered evidence in the Wallace matter to date appears weak and remains so until either they find video evidence or have Wallace herself admit to such henious acts. I've presented here merely a possibility and hold my personal belief in this matter to state for the record I do NOT know if Wallace is guilty, until I see this case unfold in future news coverage.
