Or did he just play one at the movies? I imagine there are some appeals options left, but Arnold could wind up having the last hand on the switch.
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- The California Supreme Court refused Wednesday to halt the scheduled execution of convicted killer Stanley Tookie Williams, the Crips gang founder who became an anti-gang activist while in prison and was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.
In a last-ditch legal move, defense attorneys petitioned the high court earlier this month, alleging shoddy forensic testing and other errors may have wrongly sent Williams to San Quentin State Prison, where he is scheduled die by injection Dec. 13.

This entire scenario is making me sick! This issue is NOT about Arnold: It certainly is NOT about the Crips, either: This not worthy of news story, is just that---a story.
This is a story about a man who murdered people. He has had his day in court. He received a fair trial. He has had the right to be heard. He has been sitting now for what…20 some odd years? He has exhausted every loophole that our justice system has to offer. It is great that he wrote children’s books on death row. It is great that he talks of nonviolence. It is really great that he got religion!
Now, in a desperate attempt to avoid the needle he has managed to rally the entertainment duffus’ to give him the old “I didn’t do it routine, deluxe with ‘shoddy forensics’” bit. Hell, this is so out of control it’s getting racist with every Black organization known threatening to riot unless he is granted clemency. Gee, I wonder if someone got killed in a riot if that would be 1st degree murder?
Keep Arnold out of it: Keep the gangs out of it: Keep the books, Nobel Prize, and religion out of it. After all, isn’t the threat of rioting going against what this man espouses? This is a dreadful story.
Hand me the needle, give me the hood, and let me throw the switch, or drop the pellets of gas. Let me write the end to this story.

No, because he lost his battle in the special election, he's repositioning himself, & will commute the sentence, thus ending his career. Does he think Democrats will vote for him next year? They won't

I think you have a valid point and a keen awareness of what's really happening behind the scenes. I certainly had my susicipions vis-a-vie what side of politics he's be on inasmuch as he is married to a Kennedy. I just don't think one can have it both ways.
IMO the travesty here is in the notion that I believe Arnold got elected because of his hard-ass persona portrayed in films. I believe Californian's want a leader to get tough on crime, immigration, with little to do with the welfare of the State. Moreover, I believe that real Californian's could care less about what is said.
What I mean is that a public person not so polished in communication skills could say just about anything; however, as long as they apologize most folks would forgive them. Point: I feel that Arnold could say just about anything (girly-men, etc.) yet, as long as he stays tough with a sound and logical agenda he'll continue to succeed. California wants less illegal immigrants: California wants good education: California wants a tough governor. Is Arnold their man?

Paulo - But he really did try to shake things up with the special election, but not enough voters turned out. Otherwise, it could have turned things around. But now he's surrounded by people who will tell him he has to move Left, which is stupid, because Dems will vote for a Dem next year, & if he pardons Tookie, Republicans will look for an alternative. Too bad. You notice that the one time he spoke common sense about illegal immigration, he backpedaled as soon as the Dems attacked him. Don't wanna anger the Hispanic street...
