Let there be Christmas shopping.
"Black Friday," the traditional start of the holiday shopping season, began in South Florida early today with a 73-year-old woman being knocked down as a crowd at an electronics store rushed a metal security gate to get inside.
The crowd of shoppers outside BrandsMart USA in Sawgrass Mills, angry at being forced to wait by security personnel, pushed their way under the security gate and down a hallway into the store, forcing dozens of people against the walls and trampling the woman.

Maybe it's a necessary evolutionary blip that caused people around the country to be injured this morning while attempting to get a four hundred dollar laptop at their neighborhood Wallyworld.
After all, we are an adaptive species.
Eventually, we may develop a black friday gene which will enable us to shop unscathed.
"Brave New World" had nothing on our current reality.
Scary stuff, indeed.
Becoming bruised while trying to buy an affordable laptop seems to be a step forward for mankind in comparison to fighting over a cabbage patch kid.
Is it just me or the world around us going nuts?
(I was nuts to begin with so I may be slow to catch the trend.)

Hey, I saw that laptop add and all the others for Black Friday. My thought is still, no free lunch, you get what you pay for, so on and so on. You have to be pretty freaking stupid to believe bargains on BF will be any better than the rest of the season. Besides, I don't handle rude people well.

I am amazed at the herd mentality of many in this country. Down here the stores opened at 5:00am. People were told that the prices would go up as the day wore on at some stores. Like pavlov's dog, many were salivating to go shopping at that hour. Nuts.
5:00 am in the morning is only relevant for hunting, fishing, or sex. Other than that, it ought to be against the law to get up that early.
