Double standard for women that's for sure. If this had been a 25 year old male coach doing his 14 year old female basketball player he would be "seeing cell people".

Her attorney, and got to give it to him for offering this argument, said she is too pretty for jail. Like throwing raw meat to animals in jail (hell hole). It worked.

So she won't teach. (not a problem since she'll make more money in the business world)

On probation (so what she only has 10 years of that and they may cut that for good behavior)

Apology (she's good at writing letters)

and she walks.

I personally think she's not got a full deck. All those looks and she does a 14 year old black middle schooler? In the backseat of a friend of a friend's car with his buddies in the front seat driving? Girl's got something wrong with her.

Sure wish she had been my teacher whin I was 14. That would have been my most interesting junior hi lesson ever.

Probably the only reason she was prosecuted was that the prosecutor was angry that he never had a teacher like that.

There should be a different standard for male and female teachers. Real simple, men want to spread their seed, and women want someone to take care of thier children. Seems like no harm done when it comes to female teachers seducing male students. I am absolutely astounded that anyone would ever have complained. I can tell you that when I was in 9th grade there was such a female teacher, but she never approached me, plus she was ugly double over, but I did hear of her exploits on the grape vine, plus one day I saw here coming back in her car from lunch with two of the older guys in our class. I doubt that they were eating ham sanwiches.

The cases involving teen boys and older women is a double edge sword. I remember being 14 or so and the guys talking about having sex with so and so's mother. While I thought it odd, back in the day, it wasn't a crime. Not that I am aware of anyway. If this had happened to my 14 yr old, I would have simpley gone and kicked her azz.
All that aside, she broke the law. A man would have been given a minium 5 years and she walks. I don't buy the pretty thing either, this woman is not pretty, especially with that Nobody home look in her eyes. Send her to prison where she can't shave anything but her head and she would look like any guy walking the streets of any town USA.

Can't help wondering what was wrong with the marriage. I think the hubby said they were married 11 months. I realize 'it takes all kinds' and heaven knows I've seen a lot, but like Cindi says, she wasn't playing with a full deck. I'm curious if she didn't act on what appears to be a compulsive disorder from childhood on. I note a hint of anger in her eyes, too; maybe there was a little satisfaction in punishing hubby for something. Trial records might be interesting.

Don't think the look in her eyes is anger. Simply nothing there other than makeup. Who gives a crap if she was only married 11 months, molestation does not come from a bad marriage. If that were the case, there would have been hundreds of teenage boys in my neighborhood that would not have been safe lol.

Screwing a 25 yr old may have been cool to a 14 yr old male, but it doesn't say much for her. She sure as hell wasn't looking for great sex, if I remember correctly ;)

Words of wisdom here Althor.....women don't like men who cry and sniffle. One of the things girls learned in those you know..........6th grade female movies. Always check for track marks....on the sleeve of their flannel shirt, or in their Fruit the Looms. Those track marks show inferiority . Maybe you should be glad an older women never wanted to go down on you, you may have been exposed as being a sissy lol. May I make a point without reading all the preceding posts-----------a female can be made to have sex without really wanting it. it is rather difficult to make a male have sex unless the desire is there. (there is of course the abarrant situations of bizarre sex but i don't see this has been the case in the situations lately of female teacher and male student.)

Women are not normally predators of multiple victims. Men are.

Women are not normally violent. Men are.

Of course there is a different standard.

And in closing let me say i could almost "hear" each male reporter who would be interviewing a woman on this story saying silently in his head: "Why not me? Why not me? Why didn't my teachers look like this?"

Nancy Grace looked stupid last night - no other word to describe her. She looked like nothing more than a vindictive, overthehill, jealous woman lashing out at this teacher. I sometimes can identify with Grace's "anger" but last night she needed to just shut up.

IMO-no one, male or female should go to jail or receive any kind of punishmnet for CONSENSUAL sex. If a teen-ager is willing, oh well. It really ticks me off that an 18 year old boy (or girl) can go to jail for having sex with a 14 or 15, even 16 year old IF they are willing.

I do not advocate females having sex with under aged boys, not at all. I do not think breaking the law is good under anything but extreme circumstance.

Lot of things I do regret, connected to my ID, or crutching that along...suppose. But let me tell you I am one lucky character most all my life, just to have ended my ID with all limbs and good body functions is enough, but for several years I was indeed escaping things, as a risk taker/daredevil, I should not have indulged.

Came a time I wanted to end pee shys, anxiety attacks, fear of crowds...things of war, brought on by such, is my tale. A nice counsilor asked me to think of a wonderful former event of my life, "everyone has one" he said, "a thing that makes you feel great all over". He said, "it is just for you, do not tell me what it is or involves". I did not have to think long...I knew for sure what my "feel great" was, and I was to think of it when the hangups reared.

Yup, beginning about 8 years old. She was 16, and her sister 14. They each were more beautiful than any of the greater area, properly 'judged so' too. Went on when time permitted until I was 14, when she got scared of my coming of age.

At least a couple of gals later along asked me, "where did you learn just the right things to 'accomplish'? Yeah, good teachers and intense coaching...sure wasn't a thing similiar to killing people, I know...and there's a difference.

Never in my life told who the girl ('s) was, to no one. Always felt the luckiest guy alive. I was not abused. It would be different done to a female, which can submit to power, money, suggestions of committment, prestege, even command, and at that time would have been considered fouled for her life if not pregnant at that.

I have been more succesful monetarily than most. Successes in science fields, inventions, sports, forwarding advancements of my hobbies, have been charitable and pioneering on a front or two of that, held low level public office, raised two acedemic scholar kids, kept the same grand wife.

Again, the girl was not killing anyone or putting me to stealing.

I wrote a business book, uneffected by my "feel great" memory. Wrote the story of my life, and the "feel great" memory never got near a risk of mention.

I think each has a kink. Fortune resides with those of legal kinks. Come-on, just what exactly was the damage LaFave did? She was damaged by her own stupid -- picking.

In the area where Lafave resides...on local news last night, husband stated she was not being treated for mental probs until the 14yr old student incident. The mother of this 14yr old, (identity hidden while being interview)stated she did not want her son put through the court proceedings...this same reporter had court reports from witness's stating, both Lafave & hubby would pull there toys out when friends were over...openly discuss their sexual behavior in public...so Lafave got off, due to 14 yr olds family did not want to go through court proceedings.
