Dear Greta

Apparently this below is from the Greta Wire today, whatever that is. While I have no knowledge of what she's talking about re Deepak Kalpoe, I find some real irony here. First, that she even wants to keep referring to this tape is laughable; and second - why is she so concerned that perhaps Deepak repeated a rumor he heard, as repeating rumor and unfounded allegations has been her strong suit for six months of increased ratings?

Is her goal to come out of this thing with absolutely no credibility left at all? It saddened me when I heard her reporting on the war in Iraq recently. Given that recent months have proved her inability to be objective, or to be anything like honest with her viewers, she shouldn't disgrace a serious topic like that with her lack of credibility. Her producers should start scheduling juggling midgets, or something a bit more her speed, and befitting her status as a journalist.

A few months ago I was told that the Internet was full of chatter that my husband and Beth's husband Jug were involved in some land deal in Virginia and hence my interest in Natalee Holloway's disappearance. The theme was that I only wanted to pursue this disappearance because of this fictional side business deal. As time marched on, I was told that the rumor on the Internet grew and the land deal suddenly became a very big one and eventually grew to include others from other countries. Since joking privately with my husband about the Internet rumor, I have endured endless teasing from him ("I am thinking of getting a new wife and cashing in on that big land deal I have with Jug... and spending the money on a new wife.") As you might have guessed, my husband has never met — or spoken to — Jug. In short: it's pure fiction.

Now I am told a new twist has emerged: I heard yesterday that Deepak Kalpoe may have told Jamie Skeeters (the polygrapher hired by Dr. Phil to go to Aruba) that I offered him money ($500,000) to do a movie deal with me. We are expecting to get a copy of the tape to see for ourselves what he said. We will keep you updated... keep checking the blog and the show. I am curious how Deepak thought I would pull that off... make the movie on my handycam? And exactly how was I going to hide this from my employer, FOX News Channel? I need to hide it from FOX News since under my contract I work exclusively for them. Any suggestions?

And what about getting others — key players — to sign legal releases so that we could do this movie using their names and likenesses? Would Joran sign off? I don't know... he won't talk to me and now he is in Holland! Beth Holloway Twitty? Jug Twitty? Dave Holloway? Former Aruba spokesperson Reuben Trapenburg? Tim Miller of Equi-search? The many other searchers whose names I don't know and now will have to track down? The chief prosecutor? The judges? The first three men arrested in early June and released? The prime minister? Investigative reporter Tito Lacle? Paul van der Sloot? Editor Jossy Mansur? Attorney Arlene Ellis Schippers? Satish Kalpoe? Satish's lawyer? Deepak's lawyer? Joran's several lawyers? Would they all sign releases or would each of these also demand $500,000? Yikes! This is getting expensive!

I confess I find Deepak's remark curious... why did he feel it necessary to lie about a movie deal with me? Mad at me? Nervous? Got me confused with someone else? While it is certainly NOT proof beyond a reasonable doubt of any guilt, and people lie for all sorts of reasons and even innocent people lie... it does strike me as odd that he felt the need to do it.

Might I suggest it watched some of your coverage and decided it was par for the course? For God's sake, they must have done something during the cosmetic surgery to make sure you can keep a straight face while shoveling this crap.

~~~~~~~Through out this "investigation" the Arubans/Dutch have been very guarded of their information and techniques, I see no difference in their behaviour with this piece of "evidence". I believe Arlene of Aruba (a lawyer not an official) has commented the tape a bit.

The first thing I thought about when I read this was the incident when the mother, camera crew (not fox and hidden) in tow, went to the suspect's place of business for the "one sided conversation". If you recall, the mother gave the suspect something and she refused to reveal what that something was. Ultimately, when pressed she gave some answer but it didn't seem an adequate on by any means. At that time, since she and Greta were "attached at the hip" wondered why she ditched Greta and one towards the other reporter. In fact, after that the visits to Greta were few and far between and the first visit back was sort of "strained". Do you think maybe, during that visit to the internet cafe, that the victim's mother offered the suspect $500,000.00 to tell everything he knows to Greta, only she forgot to tell Greta about it since she wasn't there. That scenario would make sense. But, sadly, this is all conjection and my opinion only cause we really don't know do we?

I might venture to guess you need a reading comprehension refresher. Go back and read what has been posted about this. Most have stated that they "think the suspects know something or may have done something" but, in the absence of proof the suspect's are "innocent until proven guilty." I would submit to you that that is a far cry from "you think the 3 pimps do no wrong" and, calling them "pimps" in the absence of proof is not very intelligent.

Every time you guys don't get your own way and can't get the posters here to buy into the "party line", IMO, you guys revert to personal attacks. Dan has graciously posted about this and kept it in the spotlight and really, think you owe him an apology.

Greta attractiveness or unattractiveness has nothing to do with how she reports on cases. Greta is not a bad looking woman; she looks petite. If Greta was in a beauty pageant with Nancy Grace, Barbara Walters, and Rita Cosby, she would stand just as much of a chance at winning as them. I cannot understand this obsession with Greta. She must be doing something right to keep you all tuned into her show. You may disagree with her, but attacking her personally is not right. Just state what you disagree with her about. She has stated on her show that she wants to tell Aruba side of the story, but they refuse to send her any information, except for tapes. They want to use her to discredit Dr. Phil, however; when it comes to the case, they are silent. They want to have their cake and it too.

I agree with Dan about this case. It has stopped being about Natalee and a circus surrounding the Dr. Phil tapes and the players have ensued. Aruba is not helping the situation, but fueling the fire. Ironically, they seemed to have become the defense council for the three suspects to whom they consider to be the top suspects in the case. Where are the persecutor (Karin) voice and Dompig voice? They are suppose to be on Natalee side (they do not have to be on Beth side or even like Beth). Dompig and Karin say that Joran, Deepak, and Satish are still the top suspects in the case then treat them as such. I disagree with Beth and Dave about wanting to remove Dompig and Karin, but Karin needs to start acting as a persecutor, and Dompig as an investigator and let the defense attorneys defend the three suspects. It is about the truth and finding justice for Natalee. Natalee was excited about going to Aruba, and never said anything bad about Aruba or Holland. She made an mistake that could have cost her life, and whatever mistakes she may have made doesn’t warrant her not getting justice. Dompig and Karin, what happened to Natalee?

All you can hear out of Aruba is about a boycott, ironically; all at the same time defending the three suspects. Boycotts are up to the individuals whether they want to go to Aruba or not. It is an individual right. Governors do not have the power to enforce boycotts such as this. They can only hope that there are enough citizens in their state for a boycott to make it work.

I'm sorry but I seriously am starting to doubt the american media sources that are covering the Natalee story so far! If the tapes were altered, and I believe it too, then what else have they been feeding us (and Natalee's family because they still are convinced that Deepak said She did, even after examination of the original tapes showed the other tapes were messed with, they were given permit to listen to the whole original tape (? or are it still those from Phil and the others?) and still they say that he said he did. Com'on, what is this all about? I can also tell you that Jordan Van Der Sloot‘s father knows a lot more than he‘s saying and, in my mind, is almost as guilty as they are, because he has helped to cover up this crime.

COSBY: Now, what is head tap? And what role, also, did Joran‘s father play, in your mind?

DUBOIS: Head tapping is when I basically can see through the eyes of the person who committed the crime. And I do understand Mr. Holloway‘s concern in religion. And I always say, if you‘re going to bring somebody in that does what I do to make sure you bring someone in that‘s valid, that has a track record, ethically, and, you know, that‘s able to bring in specific details of a crime.

And I don‘t think they should work necessarily with the parents of the victim, but the law enforcement involved, which makes it difficult in this case because it‘s a foreign government that‘s being dealt with, which makes it even more difficult.

COSBY: Now, Allison, you know, the big question everyone is wondering, is Natalee dead or alive? What‘s her state?

DUBOIS: Well, and with all due respect to the parents, and I hope I say this with sensitivity, you know, she was not sold on the black market. She, you know, has passed. And I think, right now, we‘re just working to maybe find a little justice for her.

And I‘m all for the boycott, because any pressure that you put on the government is going to be good in getting something out of them other than what they‘ve offered up.

COSBY: And real quick, I don‘t know if you can foresee the future, but will we see closure to this case, real quick?

DUBOIS: I actually do think one of the boys will turn on the other boys and offer up something that will lead to a resolve of the case. I always did see them near the water with her. So my concern is that Van Der Sloot knew exactly where to put her, water-wise, where the decomposition or the elements in the water would make it so that she would not be found.

She only wants one answer regarding of what happened to Natalee. That's why the investigation has been such a mess from the beginning.
