In Shreveport, LA - talk is that an international group against the death penalty may have aided in his escape.
Update news conference pending
A death row inmate who slipped out of a Texas jail wearing street clothes was captured Sunday in Shreveport, La., the U.S. Marshals Service said.
Marianne Matus, a Marshals spokeswoman in Houston, confirmed Sunday night that convicted killer Charles Victor Thompson was in custody.
No details about how authorities found him were immediately released, but Matus had said earlier in the day that authorities had received valuable tips about his possible whereabouts.

Wow Dan thanks for the update. Haven't read the story yet, but glad he was captured.

Since Charles Victor Thompson escaped his attorney has gone on about how brilliant this guy is. It has been reported by NBC news that he was found on a pay phone, drunk in public, in front of a liquor store. Enough said...

Charles should have gotten away. He is not a bad guy. Anyone in his position would try to get away. He didn't want to hurt anybody, he just doesn't want to die. Two wrongs don't make a right. Just because he made a mistake, does not make him a terrible person.

In a letter Chuck wrote to his brother while in prison for his crimes said that he "dotted that bitches eye"...that "BITCH" as he said it, was my mom...He also described my moms dentures flying out of her mouth as he blew half her face off...that was after he put a bullet in the back of Darren Keith Cain's head for kix, Darren had been hit 4 previous times and was already dead!!!! Chuck's a great guy...by the way, any man who hides behind his kids to make people feel sorry for him is a coward...He never even saw his kids when he was a free man...So don't tell me he should've gotten away...NOTHING IN LIFE IS FREE!!!!
