Indonesian is in the news as a result of its recent decision to begin manufacturing anti-flu drug Tamiflu.
Indonesia's health minister said Friday her country will begin producing and stockpiling the anti-flu drug Tamiflu (oseltamivir) due to fears of a potential bird flu epidemic in humans.
Siti Fadilah Supari told the Associated Press that Tamiflu patent holder Roche Holding AG will let the country produce the drug, which experts believe might help lessen the severity of avian flu in humans. Production will begin as soon as the country receives the necessary raw materials from China or Korea, Supari said.
But just below the headlines we find that Indonesia continues its anti-US and its stridently anti-Christian tactics when it comes to everyday affairs.
Indonesia has imposed a one-year ban on a prominent U.S. terrorism expert days after the United States lifted a 6-year-old arms embargo.
The embargo was lifted in part because of Jakarta's progress in its fight against terrorism.
Sidney Jones, the Jakarta-based Southeast Asia project director for the International Crisis Group, was turned away at the Indonesian capital's airport Thursday after being told she had been barred from entering the country. No reason was given.
And this went all but ignored by the MSM just yesterday, as Americas enjoyed their Thanksgiving repast.
2005-11-25 -- More Attacks Against Indonesian Christians
Two men on motorcycles shot a husband and wife as they left a church service on November 19th. The couple survived the attack, but the woman is in critical condition.
A day earlier, one woman died after men with machetes assaulted her and two others.
It all happened in the same region where three Christian girls were beheaded last month.
No suspects have been arrested in the most recent attacks.
A clash between rival villagers broke out in Indonesia's troubled eastern province of Maluku, with at least one person reported killed and 15 others wounded, local media reports and police said Thursday.
Maluku police spokesman Adjunct Commissioner Arsyanto Darmawan confirmed the fighting left at least one person dead and 15 others wounded. At least seven houses were set on fire, he said.
Three professionals sit in prison with three year terms for allowing Muslim children to attend a Christian school because the student's families wanted them to, as the killing of Christians goes on almost daily. It's wonderful that Indonesia is taking steps to manufacture Tamiflu, but in a nation where Muslims outnumber Christians 10 to 1, one has to wonder what actually is more deadly and even virulent - a strain of virus which might eventually hop from birds to man, or hate and a seemingly pro-active religious intolerance already accumulating victims every day?
If you are a Christian in Indonesia, you look over your shoulder constantly.
"Thousands have died and more than 50,000 have fled over the past four years. In May a bomb in Poso's largest Christian market killed 22 and injured 70 people. A second bombing last week critically injured a young mother who was among 11 Christian passengers in a van," according to ekklesia news.
Beheadings. One of the most favorite Muslim means of slaughtering a Christian is cutting off the believer’s head. Of course, Islamic fanatics do not consider this a crime. It is an honor. It is a religious duty. It is a spiritual ceremony. It is all according to the killing passages of Allah’s Koran. (See footnote).
Last week it was reported to Saluwesi police that Muslim males had attacked two females. The men were on motorbikes armed with machetes. One young woman was slain. Another was maimed.
Christians are in the minority. Muslims vastly outnumber them. Therefore, daily taunting is a ritual pleasing to Allah. Groups banned, such as Laksar Jihad and Jemaah Islamiyah, meander around the country, armed and ready to make trouble. To ward off being hurt, there are now Christians who have purchased their own weapons for defending their safety.

Religion causes more problems than it solves. It creates an "us-against-them" mentality because each believer considers their religion superior to all others. In centuries past, Christians have been just as fanatical about their religion as Muslims are now.
And all because primitive man did not know about the laws of nature yet and decided to invent gods to explain natural phenomena. Probably the worst idea in history.

While I think it is pretty pathatic that someone gets offended by the term Merry Christmas when there is porn and violence everywhere.
But Northener , I have to agree with you there. To much blood has been shed in the name of religon.
I have a little joke here that was sent to me the other day.
Recent Ruling
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Supreme Court has ruled that there cannot be a Nativity scene in Washington, DC this Christmas season. This isn't for any religious reason. They simply have not been able to find three wise men and a virgin in the Nation's capitol. There was no problem, however, finding enough asses to fill the stable!

When will these people in these third world countires come to realize there is only one true god. All worshipers of all religions worship the same god only in different ways. No ones preference of what religion they are associated with shoudl have nothing to do with whether one is better than another and the killings must stop!
God is god no matter how you look at it.
Now, atheists..thats a different story. Just would like one of them explain how they got here.
:O)

Much of this goes all the way back to the re-interpretation of Romans 13-1-10, which began to be pushed worldwide in the late 1900's but didn't take root in the US until the 60's. Unfortunately, it is gaining ground here as well, and many Christians think it is their duty to be slaughtered instead of resisting evil. Anyone with any common sense can read Romans 13 and if they think about it--it means just the opposite of what is preached from the pulpits. And one need only check to see when the changes started occurring in the seminaries.
Personally, I believe in the God of the Bible, but will shoot the bastards that try to mess with my family. God can sort between us.

~I surely do not think God means for us to stand back and let some jerks take advantage of our good & kind natures. ~

Why is the US government going to let a Muslim country that is anti american develope drugs to be sold in America. It seems to me if the Muslims want to kill americans they can do it thru tainted medication.

Good point. I would like to know the answer to that. Then again, the past two administrations have done a lot of things that are detrimental to the American ideal. Corporatism pays more homage than the regular voter.
My guess is that the drugs developed in the Muslim country have a cash trail that may give some answers.
