Pulled up from the comments on another post - the best account I've read of the night of Taylor Behl's disappearance.
On Sept. 4, before Behl headed back to school, Hendricks talked to her one last time.
“She was loving being on her own,” Hendricks said. “She was loving college. She was loving this boy she met. All I could think was, good for Taylor. She deserved it all.”
But when Behl returned to her dorm on Monday, Sept. 5, she seemed down, her roommate said.
The college boyfriend “broke up with her,” Ellsworth said. “She wasn’t sad, really. They’d only known each other a couple of weeks. But she liked him.”
After a brief venting session, the two girls parted.
“I saw her later,” Ellsworth said. “She was walking away from the dorms with the boy.”
Behl said hello.
Ellsworth smiled cryptically at her, as if to say, “Hey, I see y’all made up.”
Later, Ellsworth said, she saw her roommate again, this time walking alone, “maybe headed to go get dinner.”
Awhile later, she saw Behl again – this time back in their room.
Ellsworth was with her boyfriend, who had come to Richmond to visit.
“We were watching a movie,” Ellsworth said. “Taylor came in. I said, 'So, you got back with that guy.’ She said, 'Kind of.’ ”
Behl walked over to her desk, grabbed a few things – probably her cell phone and car keys.
“And then she left,” Ellsworth said. “She said she’d be back in three hours.”
Three hours went by. Then four. Then five.
Ellsworth fell asleep. She had class the next day and figured Behl had simply lost track of time.
“The next morning, she still wasn’t back,” Ellsworth said. “I figured she’d slept at someone else’s place.”
Ellsworth went to class.
“When I got back to the room, I noticed her books hadn’t moved all day,” she said. “I thought that was kind of weird.”
She started asking people if they had seen Behl.
“I tried her cell phone but didn’t get an answer.”
Concern was growing.
“Right away I didn’t think something bad had happened to her,” Ellsworth said. “I mean, Taylor was kind of an independent person. I thought maybe she was visiting a friend.”

OK, I see. I just don't understand why or what BF was thinking by implicating himself so heavily to the cops. If he did it, but was advised not to talk (which apparently he was) but then talked...I wonder how he thinks that will help him get out of jail? Did the story come out prior to his supposed "confession"

The dates on this story are the 17th I think I will have to go back and look.
Like I said I have no idea if it has anything to do with anything. Just wanted other peoples take on the town gossip.
Posted by: justathought | Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 03:25 PM
OK from what I can find BF's confession was given on Oct 12 and the I-81 possible abduction took place on Oct 16.

Guardian angel, a regular blogger until last week, had some stellar concepts on the whole affair. I'd like their take on this as well.
Posted by: southern girl | Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 03:33 PM
Ok......................so anybody that has a thought when you come on line I would love to hear it.
Thanks
Posted by: justathought | Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 03:35 PM
thanks for the clarification in dates. guess that clears that up.
I did have a theory once that i never wrote about where crazy stories where being released by the cops in order to stimulate some internet chat, thereby possibly shedding some light on others who may know of what happened or were directly involved. For instance, the scent in TBs car that was traced to a guy named Jessie--could that have been some ghost trail to ilicit response?
Posted by: southern girl | Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 03:42 PM
Well in the area that the possible abuduction took place I know that it would not have been printed in the paper if it didn't happen. Much less 2 different papers in two different cities. The "home town sheriff" that was quoted in the one would never do anything like that. So if it was something to get talk started or stopped then the local police were left out of that part. Sheriff Fisher is a die hard cop and follows everything totally by the book.

yep. been wondering when someone would mention the article. ...pretty simple.
Posted by: yep | Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 04:03 PM
Yep---
What is your take on it?
Posted by: justathought | Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 04:07 PM
FYI:
If the FBI and behavioral scientists were involved, it is highly likely that some "leads" were fabricated.
Unless of course... they know alot more than they are telling and already have the thing pretty much figured out.
Posted by: absynth_minded | Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 04:09 PM
so, why was jessie's scent in TBs car?
Posted by: southern girl | Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 04:13 PM
i've wondered AM....because i think they knew from the get go that details may have been woven (later verified) in cyberspace........the significance of the article? strange twist but i don't think related
Posted by: southern girl | Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 04:19 PM
So, Are we saying that LE was all over this internet group, fabricated a story that would appeal to them and then allow them ot "innocently" divulge clues to the case? How "Wag the Dog" and how unbelievably elegant. Are we sure LE is capapble of such subtlety? LOL

midwest
my kite was flying quite that high....just that certain facts seem out of place. all of the blogs and news i read never fully disclosed the relationship between TB and Jesse. I also read that the house where the dog tracked the scent was subsequently robbed. I also saw some scat on a possible BF relation to that break-in. Strange case, strange times.

Does anyone remember a comment I made a while ago about cases like Taylor's that get the attention of mass media and how more often than not another similar event will follow on its heels?
Now it's a matter of finding out if this attack did transpire or if the girl reporting it isn't trying to cash in on a quick 15 minutes of fame.. (sadly, that happens far too often.)
*The fact that the tags weren't in the dmv file bothers me, but then again, she could've mistaken #'s in her panic.
Posted by: absynth_minded | Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 04:30 PM
don't remember the comment but i do have to agree with you. the media is hyped and micro-focused on richmond now anyway. it's entirely possible that this shit happens all the time around there but is just being exposed more.
if i were flipped out about getting away and in my car, dialing a number, locking my door, I too would probably screw up the numbers.
Posted by: southern girl | Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 04:39 PM
Kate: I wasn't calling you out; I was agreeing with you!! I enjoyed living where I did. You read things into my statement.
Posted by: mmy | Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 04:40 PM
I agree about the possible abduction attempt in Augusta being a case of a girl panicking and remembering numbers wrong. Perhaps there was something about her behavior that didn't sit right with the LE in addition to the plates being untraceable.

I think someone mentioned this yesterday, but do we know it was Jesses scent? A scent was pick up from the car and just happened to lead to his Aunts house. Could have been some clothing that belong to someone other than Jesse? Is that why the house was broken into?
Posted by: abigail | Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 05:35 PM
Yeah, what happened to GA? Maybe under Gag order?
Posted by: mmy | Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 05:40 PM
A shirt was found in the house that was Jessie's-that's what the dog found (I believe)
Posted by: Midwest anon | Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 05:44 PM
LOL... GA under gag order :P

So we know it was Jesses shirt? Hmmmmm. Okay blew that out of the water! :) I guess I could go back and look ,nah, not right now.

AM: I wouldn't be surprised one bit.

Probably very, very old news but I'll post anyway:
Skulz67 myspace closed down. Why?
":: This Journal has been closed as I have found most people are not worth careing about. ::"

I also got a kick out of "~ Burn baby, burn ! ....have you committed a felony today?"
Seems like a pretty nice guy. Misunderstood for sure.

Dan,
When you kick someone out of here, can that person still read the blogs and not post, or are you able to deny access completely to the entire site?
Posted by: curious | Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 07:57 PM
I was bored a minute ago, so I decided to make a pic of five of the six photos of Taylor that are still accessible at deviantart.com. It's nothing fancy--just an amateur messing around in Photoshop.

nice work! have you noticed though that she's wearing the same outfit as the pics posted on her myspace account?

Bob said to error, "It has nothing to do with God brother..."
I'm a female AND an atheist.
First impressions and stereotypes hu?
Gotta love 'em.
I'm also not a liberal, I'd be the first person to hold a gun and put a bullet through the head of anyone who 'gets off' on fucking kiddies, (I don't, however, classify a young woman who is almost eighteen years old as being a 'kiddie'), or murders an innocent person - but only AFTER they have been proven to be guilty, beyond all reasonable doubt, in a Court of Law.
I'm not into random, drive-by shootings where innocent by-standers take the bullets.
That aside, people shouldn't believe everything that they read on the web. Everyone knows that bloggers can take on a variety of personas for whatever reasons: Art, escapism, to suit a writing style or genre, appeal to a certain audience etc.
And insofar as Skulz having written this: "I also got a kick out of "~ Burn baby, burn ! ....have you committed a felony today?"
Yeah - Ben did love downloading and burning those illegal mp3's.
The word 'burn' is a homophone btw.
I'm not defending Ben, I'm just trying to point out that there are always two sides to a story and this case has so many hidden layers, it would be ignorant to only view one of them.
Posted by: error404 | Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 08:17 PM
Yes, I noticed that, sg. It could be that Ben took that picture, too, or it could be just a coincidence. She may have liked those clothes and wore them often, especially when her picture was being taken.

yes, you are right. There are two sides, and we'll all be relieved when the truth be told. However, I'm having a wee bit of difficulty over the confession of accidentally restricting her breathing during rough sex...in the back of her ford escort.

OK I have a question about Jesse's shirt. It is know that it was his shirt and that it was at a house he had been staying at. But are they sure that it was Jesse's scent? Could BF or someone else been wearing that shirt so that it would have someone elses scent on it?
Posted by: justathought | Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 08:43 PM
What about BF planting the shirt just prior to dropping off the car, and maybe the coke too?
Posted by: southern girl | Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 08:45 PM
Hey Ab's I made th ecomment on scent and Im sure I nreed toi read the article again but I thought what was said was a scent was picked up followed to the house,The owners came home and were questioned on visitors , they claimed a nephew had stopped by within in the last 48? hours.the police asked to search.(plain clothed and i assumed the dog and handler were gone by then)When the aunt allowed the search they found a shirt aunt said it belonged to Jesse, cops took it and left, next day called jesse picked him up and questuioned him.Like I said I have to read it again but unless they dilebratly sp left something out I still believe it was left unmentioned as to whos scent it was.wish they would of waved the shirt at the dog or another hound for that matter and waited to see if he followed it back to the car.

It's Faw-ley. No "R". Thank you.
Posted by: p | Oct 22, 2005 11:55:29 AM
i keep seeing this "typo" and it seems noone has mentioned who the REAL "william FRAWLEY" is:
he was an actor who played "Fred Murtz" on the "I LOVE LUCY" tv show..
everytime somebody says "frawley" is this or that, i deviuosly chuckle.. :)
rick, thanks for the kind words upthread.. i do sometimes go overboard in my mischievousness.. i apologize to alla you folk for going postal in the previous blog.. not really helpful or pertinent in this forum.. carry on.. :)

Kins,
I knew somebody mentioned it, but did not know who and did not want to just act like I came up with it! :)
He must have spent alot of time with his Aunt and Uncle for them to be able to identify a shirt, but I don't know. I doubt my dad could identify one of mine, but of course he lives in NOVA, then again I don't think my husband could positively identify one of my shirts! :)
Posted by: abigail | Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 09:44 PM
Okay, now that we have been "gagged" and cannot get any new info, real or not, lets talk about something relevent to the case. Maybe we need Danny boy to start a new blog this evening. I just ate so much that I cannot do much more then sit here and type! PATHETIC, I know!
Why have they not pressed charges yet? Sure, maybe they need more evidence, a scientific cause of death other then Bens "confession", still combing the car for evidence? Waiting for someone to "squeal"? Another thing I read earlier, don't know who it was--maybe a Ben fan, to just let Taylor rest in peace. How will we ,her parents and other family and friends or Taylor for that matter rest in peace until this is resolved and all the questions are answered that can possibly be answered?
Posted by: abigail | Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 09:59 PM

Frawley. It's not an error. Misspelling his name intentionally a form of disrespect. It's a J thing.
Posted by: Bob | Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 10:55 PM
So don't look for me to spell it correctly anytime soon. Please don't hold it against me...

That poor thing was somebody's baby. That awful monster let her lie in a ditch and be picked on by small animals like she was just garbage.
All the while her mother went insane with grief.
I wish i could turn back time and hold that baby and take her home to her mother. My God; it is amazing there are so many evil awful people around us.

hahah, Bob, you crack me up!
Did you see that blog about those "Nazi" twins?
Yes, Mark that poor thing was Janets baby and he is a monster. I don't think Janet went insane, I find she has been well composed under the circumstances. We all wish we were not on here talking about Taylor. We wish we had never heard of her, and that she was walking on campus right now, coming from the Village or Strawberry st cafe. Anything....but this.

ERROR---
Thanks for the move to center. I withdraw the bleeding heart liberal comment and will never say it again here. I'd like to take credit for the shift in view but won't in the spirit of cooperation and mutual respect. Why can't we all just get along?
I loved your comment "Everyone knows that bloggers can take on a variety of personas for whatever reasons: Art, escapism, to suit a writing style or genre, appeal to a certain audience etc."
Which one are you?
I'm curious. It wouldn't be fair for me to just assume something.
I DO agree there are two sides to a story, even OJ has his side and he was found innocent in a court of law so does that mean he didn't do it?
Brother, I love talking with you, it's pretty enlightning.
I do have to ask though, do you think that dumping Taylor's body in a ravine, then coming back and distributing "missing" fliers, telling the media or her mother all those mean things about someone who couldn't tell their side of the story--do you think that person has character, could be a role model kinda fellow?
Love you man. Peace out.

I made that comment, it was in reference to people who think that there is anything constructive to be gained in making derogatory comments about Taylor behl.
Taylor's family and friends certainly deserve questions to be answered, but not by people who are defiling their daughter's reputation in the process.
The REAL people involved in this tragedy, Taylor and Fawley's family and friends, will be trying to pick up the pieces of their lives long after the cyber lurkers and wannabe web detectives have moved on to another 'fascinating' story.
That's the true tragedy.

Abigail
this is my fear--that they have no physical evidence and they are crossing their fingers someone will slip up before the grand jury. They want a news blackout and it's smart cause they don't want future witnesses to be biased by what they hear in the media. If this becomes a he said-she said thing it's not good. Someone on the blog wrote that Frawley can't keep his mouth shut he's the kinda fellow that has to brag, I dunno, everything so far by him seems pretty calculating right down to the "confession" the same night there was news the autopsy was inconclusive. I mean, how convenient.
Posted by: Bob | Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 11:40 PM
OK ERROR
Sincerely now, I agree with you we do not want to defile Taylor Behl. NO ONE here has done that except one person who thinks Frawley acted as God's agent. I kid you not.
What they did to her livejournal made me absolutley SICK. Did you see the 4,000 comments made on her journal? SICK.
Just because i throw out the possibility---just a possibility now, that she may have walked into this because of the mindset that some young people SEEM to have, doesn't mean she deserved this, or wanted this, or that I don't feel bad about this, or have really, really wished this didn't happen. I don't care what she did or didn't do, she didn't deserve this.
I just think people have to be careful. That's all. Call me paranoid crazy, whatever, dammit you just can't trust anyone unless you have a long history with them.
Peace out.

This is a PUBLIC forum, people may say what they want, and Dan is the only one who may deem them banned. I however, don't recall saying anything against Taylor or her family. Some people have speculated about Taylor and what have you. I
could not imagine losing a child as it's hard enough to lose a parent, but my child, no, just lock me up and throw away the key.
We, the "cyber lurkers" are connected to this story for one reason or another. This is the first time I've ever blogged anywhere. I think for the majority of us, Taylors smile and bright eyes touched us, or maybe some of us went to VCU, lived in the fan or just have hung out there or maybe have daughters....
We all have our opinions and speculate on what happened, but would you not think Janet is pleased that all of us want to figure it out as well? What a strong support system she has whether she knows it or not!
I'm sticking to this story until we find out as much as possible and the trial is over. I'm not moving to the "next" thing until Taylor and her family have justice!

Bob,
So BF can't keep his mouth shut..I guess that is true in the fact that Collins told him not to talk, but BF did not take his advise. If anyone else was involved, like some say, would he not be running his mouth? It's never his fault, so lets blame everyone else, but as far as I know there have been no other charges against anyone. Do you know Jesses last name?
