Pulled up from the comments on another post - the best account I've read of the night of Taylor Behl's disappearance.
On Sept. 4, before Behl headed back to school, Hendricks talked to her one last time.
“She was loving being on her own,” Hendricks said. “She was loving college. She was loving this boy she met. All I could think was, good for Taylor. She deserved it all.”
But when Behl returned to her dorm on Monday, Sept. 5, she seemed down, her roommate said.
The college boyfriend “broke up with her,” Ellsworth said. “She wasn’t sad, really. They’d only known each other a couple of weeks. But she liked him.”
After a brief venting session, the two girls parted.
“I saw her later,” Ellsworth said. “She was walking away from the dorms with the boy.”
Behl said hello.
Ellsworth smiled cryptically at her, as if to say, “Hey, I see y’all made up.”
Later, Ellsworth said, she saw her roommate again, this time walking alone, “maybe headed to go get dinner.”
Awhile later, she saw Behl again – this time back in their room.
Ellsworth was with her boyfriend, who had come to Richmond to visit.
“We were watching a movie,” Ellsworth said. “Taylor came in. I said, 'So, you got back with that guy.’ She said, 'Kind of.’ ”
Behl walked over to her desk, grabbed a few things – probably her cell phone and car keys.
“And then she left,” Ellsworth said. “She said she’d be back in three hours.”
Three hours went by. Then four. Then five.
Ellsworth fell asleep. She had class the next day and figured Behl had simply lost track of time.
“The next morning, she still wasn’t back,” Ellsworth said. “I figured she’d slept at someone else’s place.”
Ellsworth went to class.
“When I got back to the room, I noticed her books hadn’t moved all day,” she said. “I thought that was kind of weird.”
She started asking people if they had seen Behl.
“I tried her cell phone but didn’t get an answer.”
Concern was growing.
“Right away I didn’t think something bad had happened to her,” Ellsworth said. “I mean, Taylor was kind of an independent person. I thought maybe she was visiting a friend.”

Abigail - Posting links is much quicker for me than typing it all out. All you have to do is click on the links and you can quickly read the answer to your question.
Cindi - Actually, searching at Google is quicker than trying to find stuff here. Just enter the keywords and Google will find the Riehl page, if the keywords are entered properly.
Cindi - A robot.txt file is used by webmasters when they don't want certain pages included in search engines' indices. The filenames of the pages are listed in the robot.txt text file and the robot.txt file is uploaded by the webmaster to the root directory of the server who is hosting the web site. Searching Google for "robot.txt" will give you 78,400 pages of stuff about this file. :)

I've said before that this case was going to break my spirit. We've got Mike Cino, the unpaid pimp who delivered Taylor into the hands of her executioner, idolized and pitied by an ignorant public too dumb to look closer. Last time i checked, 18 is the age of consent in VA, and he knew what he was bringing "home" to Skulz.
It's just sickening. The whole tragic affair with all the principal figures searching for father figures, and all of them suffering from varying degrees of mental illness. Why should we believe Behl was any different? All the evidence points that she wanted away from him. But it's the same with all these people. They are all skitzo. Ben is wonderful, Ben is a psycho. Cino says beware of Skulz, then he says "I don't feel like I have some responsibility to Taylor's family to see that the worst possible thing can happen to Ben."
http://www.livejournal.com/users/hcjordan/96498.html?thread=391666#t391666 10-18-2005
Taylor says she's bitter, sod off, she wants to meet new people, then runs off with the asswipe anyway. I mean, think about her last day. First she supposedly goes to Frawley for sex that afternoon. Then we have to presume after that's all done, she goes off to have dinner with her boyfriend? THEN she runs off with Frawley again that night?
It's weird, these people think sex is something you do inbetween trips to the bathroom, and the more the merrier...what the hell goes on in the college? Learning or virtual fuc*fest 24-7?
What if her plan for that day was to go to Mathews with Frawley? Hell, maybe she decided in the afternoon that's what she'd do. After dinner with the boyfriend of course. So, she came back at 10, but it didn't matter whether anyone was at her dorm, because she planned in advance to go with Frawley to Mathews. You wonder, geez, what did the boyfriend think about all this? Well, he probably didn't care cause he was off having sex with someone else after dinner with Taylor.
My point is, are we idolizing these people, particularly Taylor, because we feel so bad about what happened? I mean, their behaviour is so off. No one deserves to die like she did, but what if this turns into he said-she said and in the end we never know what happened? How are they going to convict him? Smartest thing he ever did, taking her out to Mathews Co. But unfortunately, her parents are kinda screwed.

Bob and others, yes I'm supposed to be in bed, but had to let the doggie out one last time...
Okay, so all of our spirits are worn down and broken, mine gets more and more wore out looking at Taylor. Oh, that's what's wrong with me..wondering why I've been "sad" lately, thanks for pointing it out, and no, I'm not being facecious. This is taking a toll on everyone I think.
Yes, teens, especially teenaged girls seem to have "problems". I was one. My mother always said, "you could not pay me a million dollars to be a teenager again." She grew up in the 40's and 50's, so not much going on there. I suppose she meant the feelings and questions and just the entire crazyness of emotions.
Do you really thing Cino knew what was going on? Taylors daddy came with her when she first met Ben. As for Taylors lj and stating she is afraid of her dad, well, that's not uncommon. I'm a grown woman and still am afraid of what my dad will think of me for whatever reason. Maybe because he was a Marine and treated us accordingly, or if it's because he was not around much, and did not know how to "be" around his kids. I think the first hug I got from my dad was when I was grown. Think he is just getting older and soft in his old age. Still cannot relate to each other and it's stressful, but I love him because he is my father and I know he is "trying".
Okay, for real, getting my puppy in and I'm shutting down. Will catch up at some point this weekend.

Taylors statement "I was curious" says a great deal. I was curious a few times in my life. If I were interested in more sexual contact with a person, I sure as hell would not have responded in that way. Also, the police have corospondence between BF and Taylor that we are not entitled to see at this poing.
I believe Taylor tried to be nice to BF after their first encounter, simply because she was a kind person. It has been stated, she parked her car in front of BF's house because of the free parking, AND her roomate stated when she went out with Taylor that Taylor did not want to be rude and stopped in to say hello. I think she went to her dorm, decided to leave, took her keys, stopped at BF's to say hello. Maybe made the statement she needed a skateboard and he claims he gave her one. She never made it out of his place, although BF claims he walked her back to her Dorm. Also believe there is more than BF involved here. The scent the dog followed led to a home, they took away a work shirt belonging to a nephew of the owner that was staying there. THEN the home was broken into, only a trunk downstairs was disturbed. Later, the home of the nephews mother was broken into. Whoever broke in was looking for something, camera, tripod?

Maybe we're all sad because of how pathetic this is.
I don't know what was going through Cino's head and I'm not sure that's the issue. I'm a man, Cino knew what Frawley's taste was in women, and Erin was out of the picture, and sure, why not bring Taylor down? I mean, did he warn Taylor that Frawley would probably like to get into her knickers? "Warn Taylor? What's wrong with Ben having sex with Taylor? I don't get it," would likely be the sincere reply.
See, Ben was a great guy.
"I never, for the longest time, had any reason to suspect Ben was anything other than a great guy. He had a record, but I never knew of anything particularly violent about his record, and the recent assault bits of business were somewhat questionable. 10-17-05 http://www.livejournal.com/users/hcjordan/96498.html?thread=380146#t380146
Oh--and here's a PRICELESS one: "Does a victim have rights if they are no longer living?" http://www.livejournal.com/users/hcjordan/96498.html?thread=392434#t392434 10-19-2005
It's the mindset of all the players, it really is tragic and pathetic. What was Taylor's attraction to this?
I think all we can hope for is that we warn our children to steer clear. Because really, there is nothing we can do for Taylor Behl. She just sorta slipped through the cracks, all the stop-gaps failed. And the Titanic sinks.
What I wonder, is how many Frawleys are living near colleges all across the United States waiting for the "fresh meat" to come in. Sure, few are killed, but what kind of scars are people carrying around? Or are they so desensitized they don't even notice?
Posted by: Bob | Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 02:22 AM
Bob, what are you hoping to gain by performing character assassinations on not only Fawley's friends, but also on Taylor behl?
From what I've read on Cino's journal, for a young man, he is able to behave with more dignity, maturity and tolerance for others than some people who are twice his age.
Cino has stated that he, as much as anyone else, wants to see justice served, but he wishes to see it served fairly and accurately in a Court of Law.
I agree with him.
Especially when I read the callous, judgmental words of strangers who take it upon themselves to rub people they don't even know into the ground.
Taylor behl is dead, let her Rest In Peace.
Cino and his friends are NOT on trial for her death.
Quit your holier than thou attitude and get off their cases.
You could learn much about how to respect others from the example those young people are setting.

When the case first hit the news my first thought was that Ben killed her when he wanted sex and she did not. Or when he wanted a special kind of sex and she did not.
If they did go to the beach near Mathews in her car(she had the keys and its about an hour away)maybe it was to take pictures of Taylor with no clothes on for the first time. Or they went skinny dipping and he took pictures of her nude that she did not want him to take and they fought over that and she died in the fight. Then he threw the camera and tripod away. Put her body in the ravine. Went back to Richmond and threw her cell phone and keys away after parking the car in a bad neighborhood and changing the plates on the car to make it look like it had been stolen.
My first thoughts were that he killed her in his apt. in Richmond and drove out to Mathews with her in the trunk and then came back and disposed of the car as stated above.
He might have wanted to try the choking technique but I doubt she would have. Why would a girl that young be into that? And even if she did he is still responsible for her death. Drugs and or alcohol could be a big part in this also. People do many foolish things on drugs and alcohol as we all know. Add youth to drugs and alcohol and risk taking and you have the ingredients for a tragic death. I just heard yesterday of a party of young people in Richmond not long ago where VCU students were taking LSD and one girl fell off a top floor of a building and was killed. This happened maybe 10 years ago.
So many young people are killed in car accidents or motorcycle accidents that the newspapers and public take them as routine.
But everytime one of these younger generation murders takes place it reveals things parents and older people never knew.
Many young girls are drawn to older men and to "bad boys". For the record let me state some are older and badder than others. And a few are really really bad. How are they to know whos who and whats what?
And why the hell dont womens dorms at VCU have curfews? And why do the women on this board think it is OK for a girl like the roomate to have men or boys in their dorm rooms?
I blame VCU for not better protecting this young freshman girl. Girls that age need guidance and protection when they first leave home. And VCU did not provide it. Granted it could have happened any time anywhere but if she had not had to leave her dorm room that night she would still be alive.

Here is a nice picture of Taylor. He took this picture on Belle Isle in the spring of 2005.
One other thought on Ben and the Nowhere Van. Having a van is so out of the past. I mean that happening 30 years ago. Nobody has vans anymore. And his was something that belongs to 1975 not 2005. Maybe he got rid of it and no longer had it. It sure looked juvenile. Just like him. When they brought him out of his apartment he looked very much like Charlie Starkweather as played by Martin Sheen in the film Badlands. Like he was enjoying finally being famous.
Taylor is happy in this photo. In others he took she looks sad.

i dont know why this bothers me but it does. the car was found on mulberry street, in the upper fan/museum district area. this is not a bad neighborhood. if you do not know anything about the city do not make broad sweeping generalization about its character, because you are wrong. there are more charming, historical parts of richmond than there are "ghettos".

Hey Error
Next time you talk to Cino, tell him I'm too old a cat to be fooled by a kitten.Or buy into this bleeding heart liberal diatribe you are pandering. Read the posts again try to see past your intense feelings that they are all victims. Taylor is, to be sure. A tragic one in this house of cards. Obviously you haven't been following my posts here, otherwise you would know how I feel about that. No, you are part of the Cino cheerleading squad that has infiltrated every corner of the Internet.
It has nothing to do with God brother, where do you come off accusing anyone of being on a holy crusade?
I will be curious to read his testimony before the grand jury however. It will become a public record eventually. The age of consent is 18 in Virginia. It was his place, he make the hook up. I can't wait to hear his excuse for that.
Instead of giving in to a knee-jerk emotional reaction, try to read and understand first. If law enforcement embraced your philosophy, no one would ever be convicted of anything because "it's not up to us to judge."
I love you man.
you are helping me to see the light. Don't ever change your user name. It fits.

I am an empath. I am a sensitive and anyone who has known me well (time is not necessarily a cue there) knows that. I am like a dog. Ever have a dog or a cat and they come over and the nudge you at just the right time, just the time when you need understanding and senstivity and love; maybe even the moment before your realized you needed it yourself? (Lola?)
I saw Patricia Scherwalter (sp) in my mind after she was dead (like Talyor). She was in a very shallow grave in a sandy place--maybe cleared for construction. The man who put her there would come to visit for a few days, with a bottle of water. He would take the bottle and pour the water on her face to clear away the dirt and sand and gaze upon the beautiful oval of her face until it began to decay and then, he refused to know her anymore. I don't ask to see these things and I have no idea whether they are real. Don't you think they frighten me too? I have never seen any photograpshs of the position of Taylor's body or Scherwalter's. I have never seen the location of Scharwater's. These things just come to me like a dog trying to locate her owner.
A lot of you have screwed with me on-line. Why would you want to do that? How many anons have there been? I am only interested in the 1st one. Why do you insist in playing me for a fool? There was no trunk other than a car trunk. Someone thought that would be funny. I say Taylor feels anger at the roommate, so you play on that. The roommate was innocent. Why do you play me for a fool? Why do you insist on hurting me more? I am what I am. I do what I do. You've already murdered my animals, Richmond, now that you have refused to get me in, what more do you want?

Dear Bob,
Could we please put the "bleeding heart liberal" shit to bed already.
There are enough generalizations and stereotypes flying around on this board as is, I think it's safe to say that one less wouldn't help.
Thanks for your consideration...

I Am crasy. I AM a manic depressive (now that you have done your number on me); I AM a loser; I am a retard (now that you have done your number on me); I am a spastic; I am a mental patient. I am celebate; 7 years now. You tried to force me to be a whore and now, this former rape surviver won't let anyone touch her--after you Richmonders murdered my dog. Now, you want to screw with me on-line. How many anons were there? 5? 10? Only the firsto ne intersts me. I worse than folly aka Fawley. I have no friends at all. You've even been so meticulous as to murder my dog and cat. From trusted employee of the Republican party (through deep, deep green herself; two jobs; dog and cat; at 39 you destroy everthing and then think to play me for a fool. If I say Taylor dies in a car, she died in a car (for some reason she wanted me to see that.) If I say her body is in the woods, it's in the woods. She wanted someone to know. Why not just dump her in the Bay? You white people really like to play games don't you? My dog and my friends at work work all I had. You never got me in. You just kill everything you can, don't you? I could have been a resource, of all kinds ( I am a hard worker), but you treat me like a whipping boY AGAIN. I won't miss this perverse world when I finally do die. Whites can drop off the face of the earth for all I care. I am sick of being screwed with. I am sicker than Ben Fawley now. WELCOME TO RICHMOND!!!! F*ck all of you.

I am speechless after that last one. Well almost.
We all have dreams, does that mean they are videos of past events? I had a dream last night, no kidding I'm not playing with you, Taylor laying on a bad, he zip tied her wrists together straddled her in the pelvic area, put a bag over her head and waited. He enjoyed what he was doing sexually. Now, this is just a dream. It doesn't mean anything. My odds of winning the powerball are better than of any of this being true. It's just our imaginations at work. I mean, I don't take this stuff seriously. But if it wormed its way into my subconscious maybe I am obsessing too much and should leave this thing alone for awhile.

Kate, have you lived in Richmond long? I can't believe that I used to hang out at the Village Cafe in the late 60's. I lived on the 1100 block of West Franklin Street in early 70's (the alley where BF was abducted), then moved to corner of Mulberry and Kensington for a while. Now a little further into the fashionable West End, no longer the Fan. I loved to people-watch. Fan was/is definitely a colorful place. But ghetto?? No Way!!

You'll get no argument from me on your points, they are well-taken. I just saw an extreme view and called it out. Of course that was not necessary. I could have made my point w/o that.
Ohhh the racist stuff. That's why I dragged Charlie into it. I think they are trying to contact Charlie for the explanation.
I shouldn't be making light of this. The Tate murder is what triggered my interest and empathy for victims of crime. Imagine how Taylor felt? Can you imagine what Sharon Tate felt? Unbelievable. But that's fodder for another blog, I'm sure...

I watched the movie "Crash" this morning - has anyone seen this movie? It reminds me of this blog and the circumstances that propagate blogs: Wounded hearts, isolated and defiant "kicking the dog" and yearning for someone to hear what they are saying. And redemption - villans become heros and heros screw up like everyone else - each day is a choice and a sorrow. I don't think you can paint the Taylor/Ben situation in broad strokes of black and white - I think that when we condemn BF or Taylor, Erin or each other we are just "kicking the dog" of our own prejudices and disappointments.
Taylor said she was looking to find someone who was kind.

While some people occupy their time expecting for something bad to happen in a "bad" inner-city locations, their quiet unassuming neighbor, nestled somewhere in the mudane tranquility of their suburbia, is watching and waiting......
True, you can walk down the streets of someplace like Richmond and get a general idea for what areas you would probably want to avoid, but at least that's in the open... compared to the next door neighbor who you may think you know so well...
It's almost cliche.
"He seemed to be such a pleasant fellow, who kept to himself most of the time, but he was always quick to say "Good morning," or greet you with a smile. I never would have thought in a million years that he could be capable of something like "that." I never thought something like this could happen "here."

"what's the latest on the forensic results...you know anything?"
I think that's part of the problem. there's been no news of late. So we went to speculating this n that and as perusual, some of us commented before we thought about the comment. Rather than re-read and reconsider a comment, some attack like dogs. There's a wide age, political, religous range here and we've all been guilty of not considering it.

I wonder. If I were perfect. Would life be easier or tougher? WOuld it be easier to accept differing opinion because I was sure of the right answer? Or harder because knowing the right answer would make me intolerant of stupid answers? Quite a quandry but it does settle the question of whether I'm perfect or not because if I were, I would know the answer already.

I saw the gag order issued when I returned from the deep woods back to civilization. Bf used a credit card to buy gas, at a location between Mathews and Richmond. Perhaps this is new news or not, but nonetheless, I think the guy did it. No light seems to have been shed on clearing his name...all things continue to point to him.
But where's Gaurdian Angel these days?

My, you must have been in deep. Fawley confessed. Says he killed her by cutting off her breath during "rough sex"

Cindi & Bob -
>Thanks curious for the info. I do not use the probram, but my friends husband does on his site. I believe Bob is searching for files that are not his.
Just one more clarifying note about this. I was referring to the cache folders on Bob's hard drive, which contain all web pages and all graphic files that he has viewed on the web since last emptying his trash. When you go to a web page, every file on that page and the *.htm or *.html web page are placed in a cache folder (directory) on your hard drive. MSIE creates several sub-folders under the cache folder. When you empty the trash, those files are all deleted. Before you empty the trash, you can view those pages and graphic files by going to the cache folder using Windows Explorer. You can copy the files in any of the cache folders to another folder, if you want to save them before emptying the trash. I am assuming that Bob is looking for a page that he viewed in the past. That page should be in one of his cache sub-folders, even though that page belongs to someone else (that is, it came from someone else's web site). He should be able to find the older version of that page, if he knows the URL of that page. The TFind32 program I mentioned is a program that you use on your own hard drive (not on a web site) to find text within any of the files on your hard drive.

Hey y'all. Looks like I missed the fireworks.
I was thinking about Taylor's comment that she'd be back in three hours. I remember in college we'd give our roommates specific times we'd be back so they'd know when to be dressed and not still in bed with their lovers, doing drugs, etc. Roommate courtesy. Just a thought.
Anon 2- I don't know what was said to make you so sad, but I hope you feel better-we're all strangers-don't let any of us tell you who you are.
I was a little concerned about the dialogue b/w Axmikel and the Gang. Bull, I liked your questions-I think you were spot on in asking them. Isn't this a forum for investigating? I still think there's a flippancy amongst the "community" who knew Fawley, et al. Isn't not because they're artists-I'm not saying they're guilty because they're antiestablishment. I'm saying they obviously protect each other a little too self-riteously (not unlike the Republican Party closing ranks around Frist and Delay), and thus they appear to be guilty by their support of an obviously bad deed do-er.

Hmmmm. Not much here on a pretty Saturday afternoon. Guess my own time might better be spent being alive. Grandkids are coming, I'll see y'all when I see ya.

Ok here is a long stretch but it has still be talked about in town.
I live just north of Richmond. About a week ago there was a VCU that got turned around on the interestate and ended up in a really small area. The local paper says that she pulled off the side of the interstate and a tractor trailer pulled over behind her. She got out and asked for directions. The driver grabbed her and tried to get her into his truck. She got away and called the police. They did find her shoes and a few things in the general area of where this took place. One thing they found was a hat that "may belong to the truck driver."
She gave the police a brief description of the truck and a plate number for it but when the police ran the plates that is not a plate number.
So now people are speculating that it was someone trying to set up a scene to get the heat off of Fawley and place blame somewhere else.
So what are your thoughts. Do you think his friends would go so far as to try to set something like this up to try to have a scapegoat or is this just a bad thing that happened to yet another younge VCU student?

well, i didn't hear of such a thing...but how many 'friends' does fawley really have? i'm sure they know he had tendencies to be creepy, so....someone would go to that extreme to take the heat off? i can't imagine such a tale....that's almost as good as BFs story of the kidnapping

Until I went grocery shopping today I never even thought about the two being linked in anyway. But like I said in small towns there are always people talking. So that is what was being talked about this week LOL.

ok..so how does this take the heat off BF? unable to connect the dots
Posted by: southern girl | Saturday, October 22, 2005 at 03:13 PM
The locals were saying that it COULD be a set up so BF could retract his confession and try to blame it on the unknown truck driver with a plate number that is not listed.
That is what I said it is a far stretch. Just wanted to get other peoples ideals on it.
