Web logging is about gathering and sharing information, often between reader and blogger. Some exchanges I've had in email with a journalist have been about motive in the murder of Taylor Behl.
For instance, one fellow Bob suggests Taylor didn't say she was going to do something illegal, he posits it could have been a misunderstanding and she said she saw something illegal; perhaps child porn on Ben Fawley's computer. In that case, Fawley's motive for the murder would have been to protect himself, assuming she was going to reveal his crime.
That's just one quick bit of speculation - and not totally fair to Bob's entire theory. But I wanted to offer people a chance to discuss motivation in this crime, assuming you think there was one. The other option is simply that Fawley lost it, but even then, why? Was he jealous? Of who and when? Did she somehow otherwise reject him? Keep in mind, this fellow was extremely irritated with Erin Crabill over a long period of time, yet so far as we know he never attempted to kill her.
So, think about if you'd like. Why did Ben Fawley murder Taylor Behl? To be honest, I'm not sure I know. Do you?

Axl... why is it so easy for you to make light of this situation..huh?
... just curious

Morning Kins and AuntB. Don't be so hard on ax. Sometimes people think they have a lock on all the answers and can't deal with those of us who dont. I've not seen his art either but I hear it's a bit macabre.

morning kinsey.. nice to have similar company..:)
i'll forgo the link.. i don't need any more bad press.. heh..
and auntB.. i thought we were dropping the "whats axl's angle" topic.. ?
if not and you want to play, i will.. but it is rather tedious, and again, i don't think appropriate for this board

If Fawley is bipolar, this could explain why he could have just "snapped". A friend of mine is bipolar. Sometimes she seems fine and at other times, its like you don't even know her. She watched my friend's house while they were on vacation and she has an "episode". She was driving the lawnmower naked around the yard, she ran to the neighbors and screamed that someone was trying to kill her and she tore up the house.
My point being, I've seen bipolar people just SNAP. There may have not been a motive at all. I would think that if there were a motive, someone as "meticulous" as Fawley, would have planned better (I say meticulous b/c I read earlier that he liked to assemble things and find a way to fix things -- these activites take patience).
As for not killing Erin, he obviously cared about her in an obsessive way (even though he doesn't always portray this). Even if he did just "snap", I don't think he would have hurt her. My bipolar friend has never hurt her close friends.

I LIKE KILLING PEOPLE BECAUSE IT IS SO MUCH FUN IT IS MORE FUN THAN KILLING WILD GAME IN THE FORREST BECAUSE MAN IS THE MOST DANGEROUE ANIMAL OF ALL TO KILL SOMETHING GIVES ME THE MOST THRILLING EXPERENCE IT IS EVEN BETTER THAN GETTING YOUR ROCKS OFF WITH A GIRL THE BEST PART IS THAE WHEN I DIE I WILL BE REBORN IN PARADICE AND ALL THE I HAVE KILLED WILL BECOME MY SLAVES I WILL NOT GIVE YOU MY NAME BECAUSE YOU WILL TRY TO SLOI DOWN OR STOP MY COLLECTING OF SLAVES FOR MY AFTERLIFE

Mike I would try my best not to judge an artist solely on his art.Hell vangogh was a crazy old cook but a wonderful painter.not that your a cook.shit i need coffee.I was just curious.I know not all people who photograph cemeteries are disturbed,at least the voices tell me theres nothing wrong with it....lol kidding dont want any shit cannons pointed at me this morning.I am very open about art in general I actually dabble in many mediums myself.but before anyone freaks, one of my latest works was a capuchin monkey.

Rick.. ya know what?.. since I began to follow this case... I have never been so frustrated..so
disillusioned in *people* in my life! I am
mainly speaking of these *kids*! These creepy little, unattractive...*sh!ts* whose journals I read. And whats wild is that these are *all* HIS
friends... not hers. There is such an incredible
divide between these two *groups* of people
involved... its amazing to me. And sometimes all I care to do is reach through this screen of mine and throttle some sense into these... these...
children.
... bah. Axl... I apologize. But I can't say it
won't happen again.

I think that BF had every intention of killing Taylor, even though it wasn't premeditated. Taylor stopped by his place out of being polite when she was picking up her car. He wanted her to stay and flew into a rage.
Here was someone he wanted but couldn't have. Having felt rejected by others, his rage had built to the point that he was lashing out not only at her but at all the rejections he'd felt, so he suffocated and raped her. If he hadn't been arrested, he might have harmed other also.

Rush I see your angle but I also agree with the thought above about how sometimes these people may plan things out except for what com,es after the crime.I think its very possible for an obsessed person to do just that obsess about the parts that are thrilling to them and then they crash and have no energy or desire to create a cover up.

Auntie: Dont let what those people write fool you so much. A lot of it is intended to spook folks like yourself. There are a host of people who never heard of a goth until this came along and unfortunately they aren't getting the whole story. BTW, fawley wasn't really into gothism...he was hunting them.
Posted by: Rick | Friday, October 21, 2005 at 09:01 AM
kinsey.. in addition to my bad "art" and whatever, i apparently have a food fetish as well.. hence my humor at "cook.shit"
Posted by: axmikel | Friday, October 21, 2005 at 09:01 AM
Ax: You take pitures of cemeteries??? As much as I hate to think we'd have anything in common. I do too. Do you use models to do it?
Posted by: Rick | Friday, October 21, 2005 at 09:02 AM
i used to.. back when i was "goth" and it was "goth" to do so.. *grin* sometimes models, sometimes not..

Rick, I too snap in cemetaries are you in VA?I have a favorite cemetary that has some of the most beautiful monuments I have ever seen?Ever been to hollywood? I hear it has a vast number of styles/period monuments in it?

Rick... it has nothing to do with *goth*. Its their attitude I'm referring to. Their 'fu 'friends'. The only one of the bunch who has *any* worth as far as I'm concerned is Cino. The rest of the crowd need to grow the fu Lifes too short... though they can't see that now.
Ok. I'm done. Sorry folks. It sometimes gets to be too much. Its quite sad really. What these kids are throwing away...
Posted by: AuntB | Friday, October 21, 2005 at 09:10 AM
Mike on a serious note? you are/were into the "goth" thing? Enlighten me on the ways/beliefs,for i have only ever encountered youngin's who did it for shock value and am sure they had not a clue? is it real like wicca, pagan?is it a way to live or merely a label?

Kinsey, Hollywood is a beautiful place.
Posted by: OctoberSky | Friday, October 21, 2005 at 09:16 AM
wow kinsey.
i kinda predated "goth".. i'm an ex late 70's punk.. but watched that whole thing "evolve" and it was quite interesting.. i think there are both sides to it.. some of the "followers" follow, so to speak.. and some shadow to be "cool".. it is all rather meaningless.. who cares.

Kins: I am not in Richmond but have been there moren once and yes I've seen Hollywood Cemetery.

But does being "goth" make someone a bad person. Or a killer?
Thinking about the Pam V case, on the news this morning someone reported the 16 year old wore black trench coats, black clothes and painted his nails black.

oct,so Ive heard I guess the is something to be said about the artistry in the tombstones.I often wonder why so many think it is morbid to appreciate cemetaries after all headstones are chosen/and personalized by loved ones based on what they see as beauty and a final tribute.I think some are too tightly wound to admit it that way.Granted some people troll cemetaries for all the wrong reasons.

Kinsey: There are always two sides to everything, positive and negative.
Mike: I will catch up with it. I am just now waking up!
Posted by: OctoberSky | Friday, October 21, 2005 at 09:28 AM
No Sky, being goth does not make one a killer and painting ones nails black does not make them goth. In truth, not all goths are into black and death and such. I was hoping Ax would speak to this as I have limited experience. The ones I know personally are bookish, slightly geeky and the other kids wouldn't play with them. Thier religous beliefs mirror the rest of society and so do thier jobs and lifestyle in general. As far as "fu lives" goes. that mostly comes from teens who merely express aloud what most teens feel at some point. Normally they grow out of it by 30 but there are "gray goths", like Ozzy O who are still with us.

it's not if you are old.. look at all the geezers who are morbidly "rubbing".. stick a 16 year old kid out there doing that, and he/she would end up in GITMO..

Posted by: AuntB | Oct 21, 2005 7:42:51 AM
If in fact she did meet with these guys, I am sure the Grand Jury has questioned them. We will not be hearing details until after the GJ has handed its information to the LE, and they release what information they please prior to and after an arrest.

Cemeteries are also open books full of history, comedy and drama. People used to go to them to have family picnics and enjoy the archetecture.Of course, there are those who go for nefarious reasons....some go to the mall for nefarious reasons

Kinsey... I was referring to *my* post being interesting. It appears I lost a good portion of it.. *somewhere*.. *somehow*.
I'm still here. Just readin' and keepin' my mouth shut... :)
Posted by: AuntB | Friday, October 21, 2005 at 09:37 AM
no. not all goths are into black and death.. agreed.. i think even fawley stated somewhere he wasn't really "textbook goth".. most of the kids/whatever are indeed bookish and geeky.. i sure didn't "fit in" then and i sure don't now.. i'm not SATAN IN YOUR FACE or anything like that, but i don't "jive with the man" as it were.. as for goth's religious beliefs "mirroring" mainstream society.. well. yuk yuk.. not gonna happen.. they try and fit in to WORK as they have to.. often they find outlets outside of the normal 9-5 genre (erin crabill) and as per the "grey goths" yah.. there are STILL hippies.. jeez, that was like a hundred years ago.. and i think tony hawk is still riding skatboards..

"highly illegal" doesn't mean that the illegal act was performed that night - meaning, it could have been several illegal acts to take place before the big finale. i mean, it was a month and a half before her bday. and while i think the illegal act(s) have something to do with erin, i think it was a sort of "night on the town" deal, where several things were planned for the night. i personally think that her death was an accident, but that doesn't mean that bf isn't a sicko.
Posted by: york gal | Friday, October 21, 2005 at 09:42 AM
Glad you're still here B.
You're correct about so many kids being disillusioned. In the past 2 weeks we have recovered 2 suicides and almost lost a 16 yo Tuesday that we thought was an OD. She is, 16, weighs 75 lbs and passed out at school. The ER docs said there were no drugs in her system. As my guys were telling me about it the first thing after OD that came to mind is anorexia.
Look at these poor kids. Who's fault is it that they feel the need to die in high school? Mine and yours dear.
They are fed a constant diet of doom and gloom and given very little to have hope about. Our day has past and I fear things are going to get worse.

He doesnt know why he killed her. He just did. I didnt see that on here so I will put it down. If you study Bens writings and pictures you will see he has been going down a dark road. He finally got to the end of it.
There are 2 sets of pictures he took of Taylor on Belle Isle and around the bridge that leads to Belle Isle. She is wearing different clothes in the 2 sets of pictures. In one photo she looks happy.. In all the other photos she looks unhappy. And sad. "Bitter".
She could not be more different from Erin in every way. 1. 5 years younger.2. inexperienced and not hip at all.3.not able to see through Ben which Erin could do easily. Erin played Ben for a sucker and a toy.4.Taylor was in way over her head and didnt know it. It is useless to speculate what happened. He will either tell the truth some day or not. Right now everything he is saying except killing her sounds like all the other lies he told for the 5 weeks people were searching for her. I dont think this guy has a conscience. So I would have to say he is a monster. The jails and prisons are full of them.He wanted to be the RVSerialKiller. Was she his first?
