Whoa! This is serious stuff.

". It also called for the assets to be frozen and a travel ban imposed on all individuals designated as suspects by Herr Mehlis’s investigation. "

When you do this, a nation has no choice. This is exactly what we did to Japan and we got Pearl harbor.

I notice that this is under the auspices of the "UN." Yeah, the UN will make the rules and your sons and daughters will do the dying. The UN has no business in the personal affaris of ANY country...something we conveniently know when it comes to us, but feel like it is justified when used against others.
We as Americans need to decide whether we are UN puppets, or a nation. Korea was a "UN" deal. What did that get us? Kosovo and other crap. Let's see the Belgians, Germans and French do this one without us. Why not that? They keep playing the "ego" of America, like we are the only country capable of taking care of it. Hell, the Germans can do it themselves and anybody else in Europe can do it. (except the French, of course).

The "reason" there is no "military option" is that if they freeze all of a nations assets, they give THAT nation only one option--war. It is tantamount to a declaration, but they can fool the home folk just like they did with Japan and Pearl Harbor.

This is Bush's contribution:
"This evening President Bush alluded to other sticky wickets by ticking off demands from the 'international community.' Syria must expel Palestinian militant groups, prevent insurgents from crossing its borders into Iraq and end Syrian interference in Lebanon."
They will not be able to do that, because the Russians and Chinese are funding and arming the "terrorists." But Syria DOES have ties and treaties with China and Russia...as does Iran, and so do you think a spark grows into a fire?

So, how do you feel about UN inspectors coming to your town?
I quote:
"However, there is speculation(*) that the UN will give Mehlis another two months to finish up the investigation -- particularly under present conditions, which include a slew of credible death threats against the investigators. (It's always slow going when you have to move around investigators just to keep them alive.)"
What the hell gives them the right to "inspect" a soverign nation? I am NOT a fan of Syria, but, where does the right of soverignty go to? If the UN continues to get away with this crap, then how long till they inspect your home?

yeah, right. I remember when people poo-hooed the "League of Nations" for its weakness, and the fact thea the US did not join. But they kept trying and the "League of Nations" was one of the reasons behind WW2. Now, they are pushing the next one. They changed the name to the United Nations....but the agenda has always been the same.

I quote the author:
"At this point I envision several readers muttering, "What is this; the murder of Archduke Ferdinand? How come World War Three could be fought over some Lebanese guy I never heard of until his death?"

Because, just like the first two, this one is being engineered. And, they are doing a rather poor job, because it is blatantly obvious, or they realize the people just aren't paying attention, or, they are that sure of their propaganda machines, and the ignorance of the people who blindly follow like sheep.

My questions are....where will the soldiers come from? France?
Yeah, right.

All the mexicans coming over our borders should be rounded up and be utilized for the UN on behalf of the US. Tell all the mexicans this and I bet they would stop coming here. :o)

What does this Syria business have anything to do with Mexicans?
Will you clean toilettes or pick fruit that you buy at the markets and eat it and enjoy it for four dollars an hour if that much?
You are so prejudist against Mexicans you are pitiful! Poor you! They are only poor people trying to get work that YOU and THE ALAMO would never do to sustain their families.
Both of you go out and get jobs at the hotels and fields, see how you like it! Maybe you do not even work and you are on welfare. Oh, Mexicans can not obtain welfare, as they are illegal, so they will not take your place at the emergency room.

With as many natural resources as Mexico enjoys, it is appalling that Mexico's largest National Export is "Mexicans," and the country's largest source of income is the "remesas" sent back by these people to their families, even surpassing Mexican oil revenues!!!

I can't blame them for wishing to come over seeking a better life, but when because they'll work for, as you pointed out, $4.00 an hour and are able to pay $1500.00 a month rent because they live "forty" to a "two bedroom apartment," and as a result I can't find a decent paying job, or afford to pay the artificially high rents, then their presence DOES affect me, and all other struggling Americans!

It is getting to the point that if you do not look "Mexican" or "illegal" and are "unable to speak English" some companies will not hire you!!!

Let the Mexicans put their own house in order, and not come here to screw up ours! We have enough problems of our own!

Also, because of all the "anti-immigrant" resentment their "infestation" of the US is causing, other "immigrants" from Europe, Asia, Africa etc. are unjustly paying the consequences, and finding it extremely more difficult to emigrate to the US!!!

It is ironic how back in the 60s all these Latin Americans would carry out protests in front of our Embassies chanting "Yankees go home!" when all they desperately really wanted was "to go home with the Yankees!" Go figure!

Althor

World to Syria-gotcha! This is being done on behalf of Lebanon and for once France is on the same page. Syria has to cut the crap, the (baathist) party is over.

Syria and Mexicans have nothing in common to answer your questions.
I guess you can handle only one subject at a time, but some of us are capable of doing more than one thing at a time.
So, what does being Mexican have to do with $4.00 per hour jobs or cleaning toilets? About the same thing as Syria and Mexicans I guess.

I don't want to work for $4.00, THEREFORE I WORKED AND WENT TO COLLEGE and learned better skills.
People clean toilets and pick fruit because they CHOOSE to do so. Whether they are Mexican or not, is not a pre-requisite. I have never seen anyone being held at gunpoint being forced to do so. I have never seen anyone forced to do so because they were Mexican, or any race for that matter. My doctor is Mexican, I better tell him he made a mistake and he needs to pick fruit instead.
You say for me to get a job at a hotel or in a field? Hell, I have moved furniture for a living, much harder than picking a few apples, so what? I have painted houses...so what? I have worked at a chemical company, where you were sick every day from breathing the crap. So what? Do I get a medal? I CHOSE to do those things. Because I did not wish to do those things the rest of my life I went to college and have lived a better life--because I CHOSE to DO THE WORK necessary to improve. Nobody paid for it for me...my parents are dead. What's your excuse? I got no "free tuition" because I am white male. What's your excuse?
In other words, get off your ass, and quit crying about what you don't have---you don't have it because you are a lazy sluggard, not willing to do the work necessary to improve yourself. You CHOOSE to pick fruit or clean toilets. Nothing WRONG with that, it is honest work...but don't complain to me because of your choices--you did it to yourself. And as long as you have this "poor little me," two year old baby attitude--you will stay right where you are, and you know what...you deserve it.
We are sick and tired of carrying people who are useless, lazy bastards.
You steal our money for your welfare programs, you steal our money for your medical, and you steal our money to take care of your kids.
I cannot see why you don't disgust your own self. Has nothing to do with your "race" it is YOU as a person, an individual.

And don't even bother with your "racist" bullshit, my wife is hispanic...and spoke no english when I met her. She has home schooled 4 kids in both english and spanish, and now that they are in school these kids outperform the public school kids daily. Kids call ours every day wanting help with their homework. My wife has no degree. How did she accomplish such a feat? She chose to do it. She had to learn it AND teach it at the same time. What's your excuse? Hell, I forgot to tell our kids that they were "poor little hispanic kids who just cannot make it without help from whitey." Maybe I better do that so they can be more like you, and get in line for a handout. The difference between my wife, and you is that she is not a bumb...and that was a choice.

Horrah for you !
TheAlamo...
Well said !! :O)

Re: "This is exactly what we did to Japan and we got Pearl harbor."

The US will do economic sanctions on Syria like the economic sanctions we already have on Iran. The US will bomb some small vilages along the border, bomb some military bases, and bomb the presential palace. Not much Syria can do [Israel bombed them and they did nothing].

Of course, Syria could attack the US forces in Iraq but that would mean seeing Damascus and Aleppo leveled to the ground.

But what happens IF China and Russia honor their commitment to Syria?
