There is an international criminal coming to visit the President of the United States.
Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh is scheduled to visit the United States in November for a round of meetings with President Bush and other high ranking US officials.
Take a look at the details. Should we be showing him the Red Carpet? Or the door?

Anyone notice any memorial observations for the USS Cole yesterday? It was the 5th anniversary...how quickly we seem to forget.

I don't know, but I'm looking forward to the pics of Pres Bush and Ali Abdullah Saleh walking hand in hand in the Whitehouse garden.
The big question is this.
Is this going to make the President's other hand-holding partner....Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah, jealous?
Seriously though...
Once upon a time Rummy was photographed shaking his old pal Saddam's hand, and the lesson of that picture is this:
World politics makes for strange bedfellows.

i was contemplating entitling the article "handshake or handcuffs" but "chemical weapons, drug smuggling and other crimes of the yemeni dictator" will give it a life of its own on the web. thanks much dan, i worked very hard on this one for quite a while, and its exclusive in that the chem weapons charge hasnt been made before in english, not to mention support of al-qaeda and the gun running.

Don't see why not. We are in bed with the Chinese, who are murderers as well, so what is the difference?
I, for one, am sick of the hypocrisy we have to endure from these people. We are the "bastion of freedom" when we need to liberate the oil from Iraq and Afghanistan, but the thousands slaughtered by the Chinese and others....well...profits you know...profits.
Same with this Yemeni thug. Why don't we just admit that we are there for the bucks and oil, and quit trying to fool the people here that they still live in America?
Most of them have no semblence of an idea about what America was anyway, so why the double faced system?
You either have integrity, or you do not. It does not work both ways.
As for Rumsfeld shaking Saddam'hand...why not? We put him into office in the first place, just like we did Fidel Castro, vladimir Lennin, Mao Tse Tung and many of the rest of the world's thugs.
But....of course...no one sees a pattern here. Right,... these criminals all fooled us...hell they should have gone to Hollywood, they could have been stars.

Wow, exactlly. All nations with power use that power for the benefit of their own cause. The US is no different. Sadly, the US has used her power in ways, to acumulate wealth, to enrich the wealthiest.Breads and circuses.
I have no emotional attachment to Natalee..I`m sorry for her family and for her.
For me it is just a curiosity and a very strange voyage into how tabloid media affects American society.

one criminal getting together with another criminal... no big deal, it happens all the time. i'm sure when bush goes to some other countries, he is viewed as a criminal (and i'm not saying he is OR isn't, only that he can justifiably be viewed as one by other people). ~perception is reality~

Keep your friends close . . . keep your enemies closer.

You give a blatant display of your ignorance here...notice I did not say "stupidity," because, ignorance is cureable. Stupidity is a lifestyle.
You obviously are a product, and therefore can only know what the producers gave you to know. Take some time, and do your own research...then come back and see if you are still laughing. Void persons such as yourself are the very exact reason this country is in a mess. But, you get your "intelligence" from the MSM, and go on down your merry road.
When you have done some research, please, by all means....come back and lay the facts out on the table. Show us that the US government didn't force Chiang Kai Chek into two cease fires where they disarmed, but the communists did not. Tell us why, these events happened when Mao Tse Tung was on the ropes and his "movement" collapsing. Go ahead...enlighten us.
Explain to us just why MacArthur was fired for liberating N. Korea. go ahead....
Tell us why Roosevelt knew Pearl Harbor was to be bomed a full week before it happened, but he did nothing to warn our soldiers and naval personnel (now even this one is taught in college, so I bet you actually knew one....right?)
Why was Bautista sold out in favor of Castro?
How about the 40 million sent by Kuhn and Loeb Banking Cartel to Lenin in 1917? Why not show us how "patriotic" that was.
Yeah, you are a real bright bulb, unfortunately, your switch is off.
But, just in case you are serious "laugher" at others to hide your ignorance, if you would care to wager a little cash on any of these things you find so funny, please let me know. I can always use easy money from idiots.

Remember.....The Alamo,
that there are also other readers here as well who read the posts. When someone tries to be funny with a silly putdown, you don't have to worry too much about it. It's pretty obvious to most readers as to who is informed and who isn't.
In otherwords, you don't really need to respond with 20 lines of self-defense against 2 lines of ignorance for the benefit of the rest of us.
Unless of course, you want to :-)

LOL. Point well taken, but sometimes if you turn a screw, they actually will go learn something. Granted, it is on rare occaision, but I have seen it happen.
I appreciate the feedback though!

Sorry TheAlamo . . . was just making light of that one statement. My sincere apologies for that.
And yes, I'm aware of all that you wrote. We are, indeed, a powerful nation all right however, we're not the only ones involved that "created" those changes; others elements factored in as well, imooc.
Still can not understand why some folks need to throw out personal attacks against others, while making their point, though. Oh well.
Posted by: Katz | Friday, October 14, 2005 at 03:36 PM
But this is not a personal attack?

Okay, if you say it was not meant to be...I can deal with that, but...
If you know all that I wrote in response above, why would you make light of such a serious problem with US foreign policy?
In any event, I can also be civil...so let's both try that one!
Posted by: TheAlamo | Friday, October 14, 2005 at 03:49 PM
Um no . . . just making light of one statement, not you TA. Nor did I call you ignorant.
At times, I will make light of issues, including ALL foreign policies; not just ours. This does not mean I don't take issues seriously however; that was an assumption on your part.
No problem here TA. . . this monkey has fallen out of a tree, more than once, in the presumptions department; and have been throughly thrashed for doing so.
