That is so very sad. God bless her & family & friends !
When will this sort of thing stop. There are so many sickos out there.

An absolute shame--a beautiful girl

My heart and prayers go out to Olamide's family. When will the insanity stop?

What I don't get is the obvious disregard some people have for human life, that they'd do something bad and then dump a person. But rest assurred, they'll get what they deserve in the end.

Praying for her and her family.

I dreaded this, but sadly expected it. Something about her and the way that she disappeared told me that there would be no happy ending. I felt the same way with Taylor, from the moment I heard about her on the news and later delved into the world of "skulz," courtesy of first, planethuff, and later, here.

I don't know why I felt these two girls never had a chance, I just trust in my insticts..and they seldom let me down.

As always, I pray that her loved ones can remain strong through these times of trials and tribulations. My hope is that they can allow themselves to grieve and then see to it that this beautiful girl gets the justice that she deserves.

I also hope that her case will get more "light" in death than it received in life. I am truly troubled by the pattern that I see with the media and its avoidance of missing minority cases, and I say this as a White male, with no "agenda," what so ever.

*The only national coverage she would have received was on AMW, which was taking a break due to the MLB play-offs, which I also think is bullshit.

Finally, I've voiced my opinion about the role that I believe the internet and myspace played in Olamide's death. Some think it's off base, but I say; the people that do these things are even further "off base," and if you can not allow yourself to think like them...you'll never be able to stay ahead of them and prevent what is sure to happen next...to someone elses special someone.

wow..im amazed by the number of comments...
if it were something related to taylor or natalee it would be on 200 comments or more. Being a missing minority, perhaps someone passed their 30´s or someone considered ugly by the media standarts, must be horrible! O.O ..
Society can be so hypocrite sometimes, but than again who isnt?
Anyways, i feel for her family, and all we can do for those victims is pray for their familys and "hope" something good comes out of these wasted life's.

This is so sad. What is this world coming to? I think the internet is both a blessing and a curse at the same time, and I wouldn't be surprised if it somehow played into her murder. Watch your children carefully, the predators are out there.

The one thing you have to understand before you point fingers at cybersleuths/amature detectives, is that THIS case does not involve the kind of intrigue that Taylor's and Natalee's does. Same came be said for the Monica Sharp "abduction."

Perhaps as more becomes known and some dark aspects surface, people will get involved. As of now, there really isn't much to discuss, other than the fact that another beautiful (and I do not say that as a superficial on the surface beauty, for I believe we are all beautiful, unless we show otherwise)girl has been taken from this earth and who knows what we are being deprived of. The girl could have gone on to find a cure for cancer, for all we know.

If we want to bitch to anyone, it should be mainstream mass media....not the people who come to visit these boards.

This is so sad. Such a beautiful, intelligent young lady. I am so sorry for her family and friends.

I hope the family can have some peace and find closier.

All the minorities I know have access to the 'net; especially those in Nigeria. I wonder why they are not commenting.

absynth minded

First off I love the name, but to suggest not to show the MLB playoffs, for Cops and AMW, is freaking ludacris. I mean how much death and destruction minded shows need to be on the air. This is the playoffs baby, there is no way America's most Wanted should pre-emt that.

Plus, not to be a dick, but that show wouldnt have helped this case much either, I know the show has made numerous arrests over the years, and that rocks and all, but no way in hell would any Red-blooded Male be down with that show over the PLAYOFFS, which have been great all year.

God Bless Olamide Adeyooye, may your Angel wings soar now

hobo-

you are very stupid for making that comment. She is black and a nigerian. why do you have to refer to the nigerians in africa as minorites. what the fuck is your problem????

and why do you expect the nigerians in africa to comment on her unfortunate event when she basically sold her soul into the white culture.... yeah i said it.... what nigerian girl would date a white guy in a rock band and what nigerian girl will have a waitressing job. I guess were not as strict as most nigerian parents... and their daughter paid the ultimate price.

I'm as big of a fan of sports as the next guy, but I also realize that there are things in life that ARE more important (and I rank helping people just slightly above watching a bunch of juiced up cheaters swing a juiced up wooden stick at an equally juiced up and tightly wound ball...)

Potentially save a person v. watch a baseball game (play-offs or not)

For me, it's an easy choice.

As for you saying that show wouldn't have helped in this case, you could be correct, but do you know that for a fact????????????????????????????

Guess it's all about perspective.....

Not to be funny here, but isn't that the pot calling the kettle black?

Telling hobo that he's being "stupid," for his insensitive comments, but then taking it upon yourself to make equally insensitive race based judgements?

You are basically saying this poor girl got what she deserved for "selling out." If you don't see where that's dead wrong, I don't know what to say....

When in Rome......

Godspeed Olamide! Prayers for family and all who loved her. Just sadness for a beautiful girl to be taken from her family. A beautiful life with so much to offer. Olamide's mom speaking with so much love for her daugher. Just so sad. Godspeed Olamide!

First off TV is all about RATINGS. I feel you on the point of saving a life versus playing a game, if it's possible, is is a no brainer, and thats why i was apprehensive on posting my first comment, but it is and will always be about Money, especially with FOX.

But the World Series, is the World Series, and the fact of the matter is this, more people cared about the last few games of Baseball ever in the year 2005, over a missing/dead college girl, so thats where FOX went on that one.

And no, i dont know that for a fact, but right now, I dont even know all the details of this case, I heard she was burnt...not cool.
I think, whoever did this, probaly did it within a short time of reaching wherever they planned to go, which was probaly some wooded campsite area, ala the scum of the earth JET Duncan, because how else did she get incinerated without SOMEONE smelling/hearing/seeing something.

Wonder what clues the LE have at this point? Any persons of interest? Is it a case of being at the wrong place at the wrong time? She was a waitress, wonder if someone came by the restaurant who followed her and waited for the right opportunity.

There are two other missing girls, Christie Wilson, whose stepfather is a detective and Sue Ann Ray, who has dissappeared since August, last seen at her exhusband's garage and her van was discovered in a Wal Mart Parking lot, way far from the building, parked with the nose forward, and her relatives and friends say she would never park backwards as she was a terrible reverse driver in parking lots. And it has nothing to do with racism and favoritism because these two girls are white.
So sad for the Nigerian girl, came for a better future as her country is one of the poorest countries in the world, studied hard, was intelligent, worked as a waitress, was going to graduate in December, now...nothing....

I agree with you, Smokey. It is all about ratings and money, especially with FOX (who notoriously pulls shows like Astro's Manager, Phil Garner, pulls pitchers.)

Which is why it will be shocking when the rating come back.. Not many people outside of the Chicago area really gave a damn...at least that's what was claimed on Cold Pizza this A.M.

As for suspects in this case; Until proven differently, I think the internet played a role, no matter how significant it was (perhaps it began as cyberstalking, she did say where she worked on her myspace profile.)

That she was found in Mississippi and set on fire could mean something. ESPECIALLY in a racist context, if the unsub is White. (Yes, "Mississippi Burning," is indeed a reach, but that's what I do.)

IDK, it's too early to speculate, but seeing how upset some people seem about Olamide's selling out to the "White culture," that could also point to a Black suspect...especially if he had romantic interest but felt spurned by her choice of a White "rocker, over him."

IDK.. it's all so hearbreaking and in the end could stand to show how long we've both come and how far we have to go, when it comes to race relations.

Unbelievable , I did not think ( or was hoping ) these were not her remains.

Hopefully they will go into the site stats of her myspace ( which I am sure they have already done) and get the ip numbers of anyone who repeatedly visited her site.

Are there any suspects?

IDK, it's too early to speculate, but seeing how upset some people seem about Olamide's selling out to the "White culture," that could also point to a Black suspect...especially if he had romantic interest but felt spurned by her choice of a White "rocker, over him." --- absynth minded

I don't think it would be a black suspect. I think the suspect in question is most likely white. Having been a minority student on a predominately white campus, most black students who exclusively hang out with whites are pretty much ignored and not even thought about. So virtually none of the black guys on campus would have even approached her to be able to get spurned by her. The only way I could see the suspect being black is if it's someone off the internet or a customer at the restaurant.

I think whoever did it is someone she knew or trusted, and since she hung out with white people, IMO it's someone she knew, who is white, who may not have liked her relationship with the white rocker (unbeknownst to her).

perhaps...

Like I said, just throwing out some different thoughts without anything to go on.

there are lot of nigerians that date outside the black race...i am a nigerian...we have our own forums all over the place....www.naijaryders.com
check that one out...we are all sadened about her death....

race has nothing to do with this...by the way i am a waitress and i am engage to a man from korea...like i said nigerians are mostly open minded contrary to what pple believe....

olamide sun re o...rest in peace

something else u guys dont understand is over the weekend in Nigeria, our first lady died and 117 pple died in a plane crash...we are mourning 119pple, and even more...coz some of us have personal issues too...i know her parents are declining a lot of publicity also becuase of culture difference, they have been here a long time, but they are still nigerians and deaths are private...i am pretty sure they already had a feeling she was dead b4 the even found the body....

anyway...said what i have to say.....

I followed this case as much as I could --- but yes the media appears to like the missing white girl cases. SAD.
