Resolving The USA Today - Rice Photo Issue
I jumped into the fray here indicating it served no good purpose to pop off at the MSM every time one simply suspects they are exhibiting a bias of some sort without being able to prove it. When lgf and others debunked Dan Rather's alleged Bush National Guard memos, it was an incredible achievement in blogging. But it also took some time and research.
Jumping out at everything we see without first gathering some facts, which simply wasn't done in this case, is not watch dogging, or responsible fact checking of the MSM. It's everything that so-called Moonbats do, creating a reality because it feels good and stirs the troops.
Here is the best, most comprehensive and intelligent evaluation of the issue I have seen. And it only required a day to resolve. Coupled with a statement from USA Today linking the editing to a newly hired photo editor pretty much fully explains this one - not some evil-eyed conspiracy to smear Condoleezza Rice.
If bloggers are going to police the MSM to any degree, we need to do it responsibly. Anything else is unnecessarily divisive and will ultimately undermine the overall credibility of bloggers among far more people than we manage to stir up initially out of some political or party loyalty.

I have gotton to the point that i frankly do not give a dman about all the lies and hearsay and bullcrap that goes on in the world today anymore.
